I'm hoping for simple also. I really want to meet everyone and shop, eat, relax! really wasn't thinking of bringing projects to work on...I want to buy stuff! Hope the weekend decided on works for me...but if not I assume we will do this again.

Remember people.... it would be up to you if you even wanted to participate in the shoebox OR secret sister thing.. It wouldnt be required for you to do either.. if you just wanted to come and meet people, shop and eat!! LMBO

It's a big expense for dinner and chat... IMO... not that I wouldn't like to meet everyone... that would be awesome. I don't fly so would be driving and even with that gas wouldn't be cheap. Hotel rooms give me the creeps as I always start thinking about who might have laid in that bed before me. I would have to sleep in my truck, I guess!
Where in Kentucky is everybody thinking? I would like to see how many hours it is away. IMO I think meeting and shopping and dinner would be great. There is always inexpensive items on the menu or some could split meals if they chose. It would be fun to do the SS reveal at dinner, if you get to know that person and you want to add to it, it would give you a chance. Also we should meet and split up a couple of times so we can interact with everybody . Remember this is JMO. I can't wait!

Yes...dinner could get expensive but we could always pick some place not so expensive.
Where do the scrapbook conventions usually take place? Aren't they in hotels?

Well Its like any trip.. When you have girls weekend.. or a girls trip.. thats what it is.. You meet, shop, hang out.. eat out.. do things you dont normally do. Its just to have fun

That is 15 hours, I may be flying???? We will see. I can drive if others want to ride. We can chat on the way!!!! I can pick you up if you live in Texas, Arkansas, or Tennesse, LOL

Oh yeah.. We use to live in San ANtonio, and to drive to Alabama was 12 hours.. it isnt TOOO bad... if you have people with you and CHAT!!! LMBO

OK, I had to read back lol. As of now its in Louisville and that is pretty solid. We want this to be fun and shop and eat and get to know one another for sure! The SS idea is wonderful! We can also add a stamped image swap? We all bring x amount and all go home with x amount. That way its easy for ppl that have to fly (me) Cost to check bags dont allow extra room for stamping supplies.
Splitting room are the best idea! It will help with cost and im totally fine with a pull out or bunking. JOAN, we will be putting you in a sleeping bag lol b/c you HAVE to come!!!!!!

I won't be able to go (too far for it to be affordable) but I've gone to several shoebox swaps. The link below is for one happening in central NY this May (registration is closed and I can't go to that particualr one but the ones I've attended have been organized by the core group of folks that are going to it.):
It may give a good idea of things to plan for the event. I personally prefer smaller gatherings and staying over 1-2 nights so there is time to chat. Plus I stamp slow and eat often! But I have gone to an event with 100 stampers and it was lots of fun too. Many of the folks I met are now real-life (and cyber) friends so I try to get to as many as my budget allows (gas and other travel costs limit shopping opportunities).
Anyway, I hope the link helps and if i win a big lottery before the deadline to join I'll be in KY!
I'm so looking forward to this get together. DH may come and we will go on down to FL to spend time with my uncle if that wouldn't bother anyone. He wouldn't hang out or go anywhere with us his biggie is to relax in a motel for the duration of our weekend.
