It's been quiet at work for me this afternoon so I did some stamping and gluing for my sampler square swap. I need to cut and punch lots more to get up to the final number needed.
Tomorrow we see the accountant to pay the rest of our 2013 taxes and some of our 2014 estimated taxes...gag me with a spoon!!!! AAGGGHHH!!!!!! I thought we actually made a little less last year than 2012 so why do we have to pay MORE taxes???? Barf!!!! Guess who won't be buying stamps for awhile???
allen is away this week. he's such a great brother. drove all the way down to jersey.
his brother was hit hard from storm sandy. allen has been down a couple of other times. redid flooded bathrooms. and the kitchen. this time fence and front steps. both done. tomorrow some tile work.home on thursday.
best part of the return-he always brings home a jersey sub~nothing better
Thanks for the colors Nancy. it does help. Is anyone going to the convention in Utah, that might have room for me to room with them for a share of the hotel bill?

I've been watching airfares, but too pricey so far.

Yes, I would like to go. I teach and work at the Adventures In Stamping in Akron Ohio in 2 weeks. I teach classes and enjoy the show. It is alot of fun going top conventions. You meet so many different people and get sooo many great ideas. The money I make in 2 weeks will be my travel money.

I will work on my swaps today! I will work on my swaps today! I will work on my swaps today! Stephen took the day off so we will see if he interferes with my plans.
I will be working on one of the promised graduation scrapbooks. Dana and Stephanie are coming over this morning to work on their swaps or shoeboxes. Everyone is welcome from 9:30 to noonish.
Chores are done, Roomba is vacuuming the den, laundry is going, breakfast eaten...NOW I can work on the Sampler swap. DH is cleaning the inside of the new car to get rid of the salt and winter dirt. Zekey is working on her usual 23 hours of napping.
Got four pages done. It doesn't sound like much, but every bit helps. Dana was able to finish her recipe swaps. Stephanie did a little of this and a bit of that.
I'm back to the cellar for more time on the scrapbook.
Finished the Sampler Squares! Woo Hoo! 15 pieces either cut or punched with 6 pieces embossed x 24=360 pieces...CRAZY!!! DH was a busy beaver with cleaning the car, cutting down a dead tree and then cutting it up with several other downed dead trees. Zekey napped very, very hard...a lot of work! Sometimes she sleeps so deeply that it scares me! It takes a minute or so for her to wake up.
allen is working on the hall bath.
i cleaned around the house, some laundry and did a major clean out of the kitchen fridge. took out the bins, shelves, etc.
spoke to matthew yesterday. he had his oral part of his research paper. he got high honor.
but my child works in his own style. he has no written pages toward his finished paper. just did the first part. his professors can't picture how he works~but he gets it done. and done very well.
WAY to quiet here!
I hope everyone enjoyed the weekend's taste of summer. My 16 yo DS went to put on a pair of shorts, and he could barely get them up never mind closed. It was worth a laugh, but now I need to head to Kohl's and use my extra 20% off to get him some bigger ones.
up early, had breakfast out. some yummy utica greens w/a poached egg.delish~
off to kari's cabin (she won't be there).allen is pouring the footings for the deck.her mom w/will be there.she needs to bring and post the permits.
in a couple of weeks allen and his brother wilo go up to work on the deck.
Hopefully we can get together before the snow flies. I miss it & kari.
Saturday we moved Florida things and craft room things from a borrowed trailer to a storage unit. If the building was DONE we wouldn't have had to! Tore down one fence too. And some yardwork. Yesterday was DD birthday.. we went hiking and lunch and ice cream! A great day except for the ticks!

OMG! My BIL was carjacked yesterday in Wilmington, NC!!!! The carjacker showed a gun but it was holstered. The car was a lease through his work. Stephen talked to him this morning. He's fine for the most part. They changed the locks on their house and their beach cottage right away yesterday. HOLY COW! The traumas that family has been through since their marriage....ENOUGH already!
I haven't posted any new photos because nothing BIG has happened. The company doing the excavating has caused about 3+ months delay in the project. I finally had to report them to the BBB. They actually had the nerve to say we didn't PAY them. Despite there being NOTHING in the contract about partial payment, we gave them half in February after they said they would begin work again on 2.10.14. They've done NOTHING since December, even after I gave them the $$. So frustrating.
But, they are going to pour the floor tomorrow, fingers crossed ... Then things will really move fast!!! Pics to come this weekend maybe??
