Zip done today. Spent Cat Mommy Day on the couch with my little fur girl watching Hallmark movies and taking a nap. Can't get up if she's sitting on my lap. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.
Only 20 more NVRs to finish assembling and I have five days.
My DH tells the same story. Strength in numbers! Shoebox and recipes left. Have a shoebox idea, but I'm stuck on a recipe. And since we're traveling Friday, I've only got 4 days to finish.....
Got the NVR's done. Figured out the colors for ATC's. Going to cut and stamp before my Monday shows come on so I can sit and color them. I gave myself a goal of being done by Thursday.

Why can't every day be a crafty day?
Haven't even thought of a shoebox yet. DQ, recipe, and 3x3 are all stamped, cut, and ready to assemble. I have them with me and will tackle what I can during my lunch breaks (around appts and errands of course). Everything else is done except for my food. Not too bad considering my hectic life.

1) Please be sure to pack a bone folder. It will be needed for the two large group projects.
2) Most of you know that dinner out after is usually a fun part of our day. Everyone is welcome to join (and you do buy your own dinner) but I'd like to have an idea on our number ahead of time so that I can alert the restaurant. So:
a) Who is planning on going to dinner?
b) Suggestions for our spot this time? I was hoping for the new restaurant at the nearby winery but they won't be open yet. Perhaps we can try that in the fall. Meanwhile, here are some thoughts: Williams, Borios, Utica Pizza (that would be a new one for us; their greens are great), Bull & Bear, or somewhere else? Where?
Unfortunately, Nancy Schoff will not be attending Saturday due to a problem with her neck and shoulder. I will be bringing her swaps and shoebox with me and hope that whomever is at my table will help me stamp their shoebox projects so Nancy can assemble them at home. TIA!
OK, 79 degrees in our bedroom is too hot for sleeping! I just turned the AC on for the first time this year. DH is snoring away but I'm wide awake. It was 77 when I came upstairs so I turned the fan on but that didn't help. I won't open the windows because the intelligent County DOT dumped a load of dirt on the potholes near our house so every time someone drives by our house a really huge cloud of dust is stirred up and engulfs our neighborhood. You should see our mailbox, porch, and siding...major dust covering everything. And did the dirt fill in the potholes...NO! The poor neighbors that have that mess right in front of their houses must be furious! OK, whining is over. Sweet dreams, everyone. YEAH...Summer is here!
SCHEDULE FOR SATURDAY: Here's what the day looks like in general. Please understand that adjustments will be made as needed.
9:50-10:30
**Check in & get your table assignment. Your table number will be on the back of your placemat.
**Leave any door prize donations with me.
**If you have money for me, please be sure that it's in an envelope that includes your name and the amount on the outside.
**Find your nametag & take a pin (near check in); nametags will be in alpha order by first name.
**Drop off food to kitchen.
**THIS IS NEW: After you've found a seat, please take the time to wander around to the other tables to check out the beautiful centerpieces. Then, vote for your favorite by dropping the number into the small basket by the display boards. We will be "crowning" the winner before the morning is out.
**Shoeboxes: Pin one of your completed shoebox projects to the board (make sure you pin it to the board designated for your table -- #s 1 & 4 or #s 2 & 3), leave a completed shoebox project in each of the two containers near board, the last completed one goes with you to your table as your sample.
**Swaps: Put one each of your swaps out and check your name off the list(s) as you do that. All the final swap counts are listed on the first page.
**Gift Swap: Place your wrapped gift swap on back table (participation optional) and be sure to get a playing card for that.
**Chat with friends or make some new friends. Head back to your table.
10:30 Intros with your table head; she'll also let you know what to expect in terms of making the projects. Expect to describe your project, especially anything that's not obvious. Remember that some basic written directions should also be there for those who will make your project later.
10:45-12:15 Morning shoebox projects.
If you're hungry at all (morning or afternoon), please feel free to take a break and graze any time.
Please neaten up your spot before you get started with lunch. We don't want any spills on the projects and we also need room to eat lunch. Thanks.
Projects stay behind and people will switch tables after lunch. Please don't try switching before it's time although you certainly may move to have lunch with your friends. Tables 1 & 4 will switch as will 2 & 3.
12:15-1:30 Lunch, garage sale and swapping. I will be calling the swaps randomly so please dont stray too far.
1:30-3:15 Afternoon shoebox projects
3:15-5:00 Door prizes and gift swap. Gift swap will be last so that those not participating can depart early if desired.
5:00 Clean up. So helpful!
6:30 Utica Pizza (North Syracuse) for dinner. You are welcome to stop at my house for the break between where we typically sit and chat and take a breather.
It would help me to know how many plan to stay for dinner so please LMK by email, PM or responding here on the thread. Thanks.
Goodie bags will be delivered to you personally at the table where you're stamping in the morning. I plan to hand out your door prize tickets then, too. Don't lose that! You will also have a chance to purchase 50/50 tickets. Proceeds go towards buying door prizes for next time and of course the winner takes home the other half.
You can see there's a lot going on at check in time so it really helps if you can arrive closer to 10 rather than earlier. Thanks for understanding.
I am beginning to pack things up. Is anyone planning to bring a Big Shot or Cuttlebug? I have pieces already die cut for the large group project but will be bringing extra to cut if needed. If there will already be a machine there, I would like to avoid packing mine but will bring the die, of course.
Maybe if anyone is still working on their shoebox ... (or am I the only one? :rolleyes you could finish an extra one for Nancy?
just a thought ...
I havent even started my showbox or recipes yet. I got hit hard with something... mix between pnemonia/brochitis/sinus... ended up at ER then ended back up there with an allergic reaction to my meds....

Hope everyone feels better ASAP!!! No fun to be sick :( when it's finally nice weather and when it's stamping time!
Gluing away on my NVRs so I can now see the light at the end of the tunnel!
I will gladly accept any cards, cardfronts, and ATCs to make into cards for the troops for From Our Hearts! Clean out your stash to make room for the new goodies coming our way Saturday! NO glitter, NO heavy/thick embellishments please! Thanks!
I think I have everything for tomorrow under control. Wrote my instructions at work. Bought my berry tray at lunchtime...yummy...hopefully the berries make it there tomorrow! Just have to pack my NVRs and craft tote tonight.
Slow for me at work for this last hour of the work day.
Wow...what a lot of rain! The Ride for Missing Children was cut short at about 11 because of the rain. I had to drive into Rome this morning and E. Dominick St. was lined with pink and blue balloons and posters on the shop windows. Made me tear up! I went through Oriskany, too, because I knew the ride went through there and there were cop cars all over waiting for the riders. Too bad about the rain but I bet many of the riders were happy to have a short ride and not be so tired. Of course, what the riders go through in 100 miles is nothing compared to what the children and their parents endure.
Everything is packed and stowed in my car. Good thing I double checked my shoebox with the list of needed supplies I wrote up a few weeks ago....I hadn't packed the ink pads!
