It's enthusiasm like this that really builds up the excitement of chatting with you and waiting to meet y'all. I hope you won't be less excited once I'm there :? .
The idea is only in my head --- I don't have the colors to make a sample. I'm placing an order (hopefully today) so it better look good; I won't have time or money to make major changes!
My name tag will probably be the last thing I make, since I have to dig out some supplies to make the one in my head and once stuff is "dug out" the hole from which it came is immediately filled and the dug out stuff no longer has a place to go, thus taking up valuable space on a work surface. Which, of course, means it is difficult and frustrating to make anything else.
But I will have some ID on even if it means just using a Sharpie on a self-stick badge from an office supply store.
And big heartfelt thanks to Gayla because I would not have been able to come if I needed a motel room (and thanks too to the other ladies that also offered a place to stay).
The next few weeks are busy so I'll probably be lurking more than chatting but I'll be around.
Happy Crafting!
~ Tina ~
Are you feeling okay Tina? This was a long post and not ONE mention of food of any type... I'm worried :p
p.s. Who could pass up a free night in a slaughterhouse?!?

I'm fine! I just forgot if my self-imposed ban ended yesterday or today but ... what the heck ... here's my food talk;
Easter Sunday was FATTENING (as it should be). It started with egg sandwiches from a local deli/superette.
Then Tony and I made the antipasto (ingredients of which were listed in another thread) - and, of course, sampled.
Okay, now we are on our way (about 100 miles to my BIL's) but first a stop at Dunkin Donuts for a large box of Munchkins and a donut for each of us (I had Chocolate frosted without sprinkles).
We arrive in about 2 hours (not bad for a holiday but we left the house a few minutes before 11am). A few pieces of chocolate (Hershey miniatures: Krackle and Mr. Goodbar).
Some chatting and taking pictures of my FIL's great-grandson (our nephew brought him for a visit but they didn't stay long since they were celebrating at his in-law's house).
Finally time for antipasto (yummy and truly could be a meal in itself but why stop at one meal). This was immediately followed by a four-layer lasagne that was just gooey with loads of melted mozzarella cheese. Naturally, this was accompanied by meatballs and sausages (in years past there would have been bracciole too).
After the dishes were cleared (by the nieces - finally there are younger females around!!!!!!!!!), the ham and side dishes were served. These sides included roasted potatoes, stuffed artichokes, rolls (of course I had mine with butter), and sauteed mushrooms.
A small reprieve (about an hour) before dessert and coffee was served. There was a great assortment --- the munchkins, ice cream cake (for my BIL's birthday), homemade cherry pie (one nephew's girlfriend is an awesome baker), rainbow cookies and strufela (honey balls). If the nephew with the baby was there for dessert, there would have been a chocolate pudding pie too.
My FIL ate too much (we all did) and felt uncomfortable so we left early (before 8pm). We got home a little after 10 so that wasn't too bad. Usually we don't leave until 10pm (to theoretically avoid traffic but there is always traffic).
Later tonight my husband and I will finish the bag of SunChips tortilla strips (with Bravo/Tostito's medium salsa) that we started last night.

And for my breakfas tomorrow I plan to toast some corn muffin bread --- the English Muffin bread we ate last week was yummy so now we are trying the corn muffin bread.
I'll probably buy chocolate tomorrow --- I haven't had any since Sunday!
And noone that hangs around these CNY threads could pass up a night at the slaughterhouse.
sorry to say that lasagne sounds weak !!!!!!!
my takes 3 days to make.
day 1 make my sauce all homemade w/ my own canned plum tomatoes.
day 2 assemble the lasagne.
day 3 bake and enjoy.
my sister amanda loves to weigh my lasagne.
i make it in my turkey roasting pan....
it has been known to weigh 20 lbs or more.
4 layers that just an appetizer.

Sounds yummy Gayla. I know my SIL had off since THU afternoon (prior to Easter) so - and it's likely 'coz her sauce is always amazing - she made the sauce, etc as you described. Can't vouch for how much it weighed, but we all weighed more after eating it!
Most of the cooks I've known either make sauce the day before or extremely early (like before the sun rises) the day of consumption. And, leftovers, if any, are always better the next day.
When you serve lasagne, what fo you usually serve with it? I like a bottle of good wine, some tasty bread, and meatballs and sausages.
