had a successful shopping trip. Two pair of sneakers, 5 pairs of shorts and 24 pair of socks for.... get this..... just a little over $100! The boys were very impressed that the receipt showed that we saved over $130

I'm working on a golf bday card for a party tomorrow. I have NO golf stamps at all...
This is probably too late, but there's a piece in Crayon Kids that works great as a club (it's a leg, as I remember) and the crayon makes a great golf bag.
Yeah, I guess it was way too late since I just finished reading the other posts. I was out all afternoon/evening.
DH and I sorted stuff on the first floor last night, put it in the kitchen...cleared out a lot of stuff we never use. Just finished in the attic for the day...tooooo hot now. My friend and I started about 8 this morning...I sorted and she put in various boxes for our garage sale (Fri., Aug 28 & Sat., Aug 29 hopefully) and she cut up cardboard boxes. Why to we save 'puter boxes, jewelry boxes, gift boxes, electronics boxes??? I have maybe an 1/8 of the attic sorted. YIKES!!! We also took all the sorted stuff downstairs (two flights of stairs), put it in our two cars, drove it to the garage and unloaded it all. The mice have been using our attic...YUCK! I wore a dust mask and gloves. Dread going back up there but so much more to do...Feels good to get rid of it! Have a box of photos and momentos to sort some day...didn't want to slow down to go thru all that...
True but my friend is moving and now is the time! It will be a relief :mrgreen: to get it done since it's been weighting on me for years :( and DH refuses to help.
ugh Arlene, I don't envy you today! The boys are just now jumping in the pool. I'm working on DIVA stuff in my cool basement. Chris washed our plastic house this morning. Other than that a lazy day until I have to take Cullen to hockey practice this evening.

Hi ladies!! I'm back from the party for the 95 yo guy!! I made the cake with a golf cart on it!! It was HOT in a community room of a "retirement" place. This is what it's going to be like??

Not for me...I plan on being in the cool waters of the Caribbean snorkeling in my retirement!!
Well I don't plan to live up here in a retirement home either, but I won't be in the Caribbean either. You won't catch me living anywhere but the good 'ol US of A and not in a hurricane zone!

She was living in Verona Beach, moved to Lake George a few months ago to be with boyfriend, decided boyfriend was bad choice/Dr. Jekle-Mr. Hyde so moved back to Rome temporarily. Her son has house in Rome that he wants to sell so he moved into her house in Verona Beach so he could clean out/fix up Rome house for sell. Since he's in her house she moved into his Rome house and is helping him clean it up. Once that house is sold she'll be going back and forth between here and her house in TX that her daughter lives in. Can you make sense of all that?? She retired 12/31/08 so is free to wander.

I just finished a variation of this morning's Oval All Mix and Match class. I used sock monkey and put a bunch of his accessories into the matchbox containers in front. Thanks for the idea Arlene

supposed to be 2 hours, but it took just a bit longer on saturday. It was a small group, so there was alot of individual attention. You guys will be more on your own, lol!
