Welcome to August! It's RAGWEED season!!!!
My heart goes out to you. My allergies are seasonal (trees in the spring, ragweed in August) and environmental (dust, smoke).
Keep taking that allegra!!! If you want a cheaper alternative, I use Aller-Relief. It's a LIFE brand from shoppers. Less money and works great!
...i have been sick...just shoot me...going for the totally fun colonoscopy tomorrow....ugh...wish me luck!!!....
Hope everything went well!
Christyne I'm shocked how much allergy medicine is!! thanks for letting me know about the alternative. I seem to get allergies every summer but they are always at different times and different symptoms.. some more severe or mild. it's really weird! It must be the air over here.
Rar! my son still isnt' speaking :(.. he'll bee 3 in November. I don't know how some parents do it but it gets quite fustrating sometimes. I'm going to be taking part is this thing called 'talk to me'. Hope it'll give me some pointers on how to help him. Hoping one day he'll actually call me Mommy :(
Hey girls, I'm doing a Scentsy party over here in Smithville but you can join online. Check it out here. https://inky.scentsy.ca/Buy/SetupPrompt That should take you straight to my party.
My mom is in hospital for observation. She passed out at Tim Horton's yesterday afternoon. Her blood pressure went very low. 105/40. She wants to come home today but they'll be keeping her a little while longer.
Here's a weird one. My husband came home with his mom's bedroom set almost three weekends ago. It looks like Elvis Presley owned it. He said we would sell it but it went straight up into our bedroom. His mom was mean to me all the time at every chance she got so I definitely don't want to end, then start my days with this ugly furniture of hers. Told Bob exactly this. Refused to put my clothes into any of the drawers and have to get my clothes from out in the hallway. He finally told me to put the furniture up on Kijiji. Now I have the dilemma of pricing this stuff. Ug.
UGH Teresa!!! How freaking annoying!! You might check Kijiji for similar stuff and see how it's priced?
Leila, you may want to get tested for allergies. You'll need a referral to an allergist and it's a skin prick test. They line up tiny amounts of allergens on your inside forearm and then nick each of the areas with a pin. It's a little uncomfortable, but not horribly painful. That way, you'll get an accurate result for just WHAT it is that's bothering you.
For me, it's tree pollens in the spring (ALL OF THEM!) and ragweed in August. I also suffer from environmental allergies (mostly indoor stuff) like dust and smoke...that sort of thing. Your best bet is to CONTINUOUSLY take the allergy med during your "bad" season.
Today, I forgot to take my meds before going out and suffered ALL DAY! Even AFTER I went to Shoppers, bought new (since I was nowhere near home) and took them. My right eye is still puffy, itchy and watery. NO FUN!!
...checking in....they dr didn't find anything major...so now i have to go for allergy tests and see what other foods i am allergic too...UGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks! My mom did come home. She was on the same medication for over 40 years and things needed to change. May have found a blockage to/from heart also so in 6 weeks that will be checked out. This may then have been a good thing since they found that and it can be taken care of before she had a heart attack or something.
Hey girls, I remember someone was looking for an idea to make a wedding card but I don't remember who, I just remember that they didn't have any wedding type stamps. Well, I found a card today that has NO STAMPS. Check it out. Inking Idaho: Funky Wedding Card
...hey ladies...hasn't been a very good couple weeks for me....my computer died, my cell phone died, my car has an oil leak, someone stole $100 from my purse at work, and i have been sick everyday still....let's hope the madness ends soon....
teresa-glad your mom is ok!!....hope everyone else is doing well...i will check in when i can!!
I do not get how people steal in the workplace!! We have had people's food go missing in my office. So rediculous.
Hope other wise everyone is doing well though! There's no way I can catch up on everything that's going on so I'll just say, Hey guys! Long time no see! Hope you're all well!!
Janet, I agree with your fortune cookie. "This too shall pass" is something I often say.
When I read what you wrote to Corrosive Design Team my first thought was, no don't do it, just take a sabbatical. But them I read what some of the others were writing about how your health comes first, etc. That made me feel bad for thinking what I did but I'm still thinking the same way.
I think your load is heavy right now and you need to set things down because you can't carry it by yourself. Set them down, let someone else who can, carry it until you can pick it up again.
...thanks teresa....i joined the gym to try to help my health...i even got a personal trainer...i think that is the most important thing in my life right now...i have to make some cards tomorrow for a friend who has requested a sympathy and wedding card from me...i will force myself to craft again...
i know things will get better with time...glad i have some amazing people in my life
Janet I'm sorry to hear that things have been rough lately. There are some things that happen that we will never understand. You are 100% right, your health is very important! Good for you for taking steps to making yourself a priority! Remember that crafting is a hobby that we CHOSE, once it starts to feel like an obligation the best thing to do is take a step back, otherwise you might start to resent what you once loved...and we would hate to lose you in this crazy world of ours!! ((((HUGS))))

Thanks for the tip Christyne about the allergy test.. i think I'm scared to take it because I scar pretty easily... not sure if I want to end up with a polk a dot patter scar on my arm lol. I'll stick with the allegra for now.
Hugs to Janet and Teresa, hope things work out for you guys soon.
What is with people stealing stuff at work? that is just stupid... and stealing food too? wow.
awwww that warehouse sale sounds amazing :( Have fun to who ever goes and post what you got! i want to see what i'm missing!
it's just been a lighting storm here since 9:45pm... still going on.. hardly any thunder or rain. Maybe it'll come later? there was a HUGE advisory for the Windsor Essex area.
we got caught right at the beginning of it...we were at Walmart and didn't quite make it out before it hit. Got drenched but other then that we were ok...but holy smokes did it come down hard with lightening and thunder that were so close together I was worried we'd get struck by it. Driving in it was a little bit of a struggle but we managed....
how was it where you are Janet?
Glad to hear it was minor where you are Leila! BTW...have you decided if you're coming down for Labour Day? I need to go back to Coast and if you want to go then I'll wait to go with you (or my offer still stands...just let me know)
So, it's been a while since we've done coffee or dinner (and I've got packages to deliver) so I was thinking that we should plan something soon. Thoughts?
