***Great Swapping Utah Girls***

Hi ladies-

I was just sitting here wondering if it is time to start planning another get together.. It has been a couple of months and with the new catty frenzy and all...

After surveying those interested in coming it looks as if we are going to do it September 29th..
Location: 1715 W 1600 N. in Layton Directions to follow soon but if you need them sooner mapquest is pretty good. ;).

TIME: 1 PM-5 PM. If you would like to come early I am going up at 12:00 and it will be in the primary room at the south side of the building

As always it will be a NVR and no project restriction. You will have to prepare as many projects as sign up. This is our 4th get together and we haven't had more than 23 yet.. Seems like a high number but you go home with soo many neat projects it is definately worth it!

So we need to decide who is going to bring what. I am thinking we need 1 person to bring plates, napkins, utensils, 3-4 to bring salad/snack, 3-4 to bring a main dish, 1-2 to bring drinks, and 3-4 to bring salad.

1) YuRee- Salad
2) bstrent-
3) liandrin- chips & salsa
4) mischief732- drinks, ice
5) scrapshappen- dessert
6) tilleydog- main dish
7) kimmery-
8 ) camie- Drinks, cups
9) rockymountainstamper
10)
11) Jen-
12) Melreese1- utensils
13) Nancy Pearce - paper plates & a dish
14) Teri - (tilleydog's friend)- dessert
15) Dolphenecho-
----------------------------------------------------------------
What is a shoebox swap? All cards are to be full cards. (If your project is something other than a card, that is ok too just bring a COMPLETE project.) Each person will need to bring enough supplies for everyone to make their cards including all cardstock, stamps, inks, embellishments, tools, etc. The paper should be precut to the right size so there is no major cutting involved the day of the swap.

Each person is also asked to bring their own adhesive to use on all the projects we make. You will take your adhesive with you when you go from one project to the next. You might want to bring a pair of paper snips just in case you need them.

Please make sure all of your supplies (stamps, ink pads, scissors, punches, etc.) are labeled with either your name or initials, so we all go home with the stuff we brought.

Doorprizes- Yes! If you want to bring one, please do so that day and we will do a drawing every so many minutes according to how many prizes we have. (Bring a prize to win a prize... You can bring more than one)

If anything doesn't make sense, feel free to ask.

cookscrapstamp 06-26-2007 05:56 AM

hello??

bstrent 06-26-2007 12:00 PM

I work for a scrapbook store in American Fork. It would be free if we did a swap on the third Saturday of any month (they have 2 separate, large areas with tables). They're easy to find - about a block away from I-15. For some reason I keep missing posts for the Utah get togethers!!!! I know it takes me less than an hour to get to Roy from here. Keep me posted, I don't want to miss out!

cookscrapstamp 06-26-2007 12:12 PM

I will keep you posted (via this thread unless something gets set in stone) so you won't miss this one. The last one we did was pretty close to you it was down in Springville.

Are you a SU demo?? Have you gotten the new catty?? I am patiently waiting for mine...

Have a great day..

Anybody else interested?

bstrent 06-26-2007 03:39 PM

Former demo! My neighbor is a demo, and called S.U. today about the cattys. They don't ship from UTAH is what she was told - but here's hoping they come tomorrow!!!!

liandrin16 06-26-2007 03:54 PM

Puh-lease make it a weekend I can come this time!!! I missed it in May since it was on my DD's b-day.

So...the first weekend in August will NOT work for me since we will be going to my niece's first b-day party in CA. The first weekend in Sep may be hard for ppl (not me, just others that have a life) because of Labor Day. I can't think of any other Saturdays that might be bad for me in Aug or Sep.

Tilleydog 06-26-2007 04:04 PM

Hey how's everyone? I ran into Viki today at our Wal-Mart. I was nice to see her. Ya I'm up to a another swap. Count me in. I'll try to get a few of my ladies to join me. Just one more thing. Don't do it on the second Saturday and I'm great with it.

cookscrapstamp 06-26-2007 04:17 PM

Ok.. No first weekend in August or September. No second weekend in August or September. Hmm that leaves the 3rd & 4th weekends of both months. Found out the August 29th is the first day of school for Davis County.. School probably starts around the same time for other counties.. Soo I am guessing with the chaos of school starting the 3rd & 4th weekend in August are not good either so it looks like one of the last 2 weeks in September.

I will post a poll for those 2 dates... Won't let me post a poll so please vote here on the thread and I will update in original post so it is easy to find..

mischief732 06-27-2007 02:56 AM

September would be best for me. I'll keep looking for further details!
Melisa

cookscrapstamp 06-27-2007 05:34 AM

Hey Missi- The 22nd or the 29th??

cookscrapstamp 06-27-2007 09:42 PM

I know this still on the first page of the forum but I wanted to move it up somewhere in the first 3 pages of the new posts threads..

Bumpity, Bump, Bump!!

liandrin16 06-28-2007 11:43 AM

At this point, either the 22nd or the 29th are fine with me. :)

cookscrapstamp 06-28-2007 08:10 PM

Yay!! Debora, I am glad you get to come to this one..

I know there are more ladies out there. Is the time wrong?? I personally didn't care for the food at the Flying J.. I did however like the pot luck we did. Would anyone be opposed if we did it at a local LDS building? We could get the RS room or the cultural hall depending on how many people and the time...

Any suggestions would be great!

liandrin16 06-30-2007 09:59 AM

It would be great to have at a local LDS building. There is a kitchen & plenty of room. Our stake center here in West Bountiful is not far off the freeway. ;)

cookscrapstamp 06-30-2007 07:58 PM

Saturday Night Bump!

scrapshappen 07-01-2007 10:29 AM

Can anyone play? I've never been to one of these, nor do I know what it involves. Can ya fill me in? I see it is a swap. How many things do we have to make?

Thanks,
Paula

cookscrapstamp 07-01-2007 08:59 PM

Yes anyone can play.. I will revise original post to describe what is expected at a shoebox swap.

scrapshappen 07-02-2007 05:49 AM

Sounds like fun. Either day works for me, unless my husband leaves for another work assignment out of state. And anything close to I-15 would be great.

cookscrapstamp 07-02-2007 07:12 AM

Ok.. I have you signed up! We will know a final count about the 1st of September.

Looking for more swappers!

mischief732 07-02-2007 03:13 PM

The 29th would be the best date for me, but I dould probably make the 22nd work.
Melisa

cookscrapstamp 07-03-2007 04:50 AM

Have you down for the 29th! I was wondering if you were going to mosey over and sign up.. I am glad you did.

I think we can call it a go as long as we have at least 10 people signed up.. Anyone think other wise?? Would 10 be worth doing it for or do we need more? Ask around to your friends/clubs and see if anyone is interested.

It is Tuesday JULY 3rd.. Wow, I can't believe it is already July...

cookscrapstamp 07-09-2007 06:50 AM

Another week has passed with not a lot of interest.. Hmm I am wondering if there is anyone out there that lives in Utah.. ANYONE????

Is anyone DRIVING out to the second session of convention??

ejohnson 07-10-2007 11:28 AM

I'd like to come. The weekends in September sound fine. I teach school so that will give me a month to get things in order.

kimmery 07-10-2007 11:36 AM

Hey, I just found this thread which is good because I found the last time thread too late to sign up. Anyway, I would love to do this and either weekend is good for me. I'm so excited!!!

kimmery 07-11-2007 08:12 AM

Wednesday Hump day bump!

cookscrapstamp 07-11-2007 03:51 PM

Ok so it looks like most people are ok with either weekend and those of us who do have preferences say the 29th.. So I am going to ammend the original thread to say the 29th..

I would like to do it pot luck style and will inquire about getting a room somewhere. Is anyone opposed to doing it at an LDS church building? If so, I can look elsewhere but I am thinking that will be the best bet.. If we don't want to do a pot luck then we could maybe get the Golden Corral again and then you have to pay like $9 for your food.. What do you all think??

ejohnson 07-12-2007 08:10 AM

I got the date blocked off! Yea! Also, my preference would be a pot luck style event at an LDS church. It sounds like you guys have done it at a restaurant before, but I think I'd be more comfortable where a bunch of lunchers weren't staring at me as I made my crafts! Just my opinion, but whatever you plan will be just fine with me, I'm flexible.

liandrin16 07-12-2007 01:19 PM

I like the idea of a potluck at a LDS church building. I'll even bring a main dish if the bldg we get is somewhat close by. :)

cookscrapstamp 07-12-2007 08:36 PM

Ooohh The MAIN dish!!

I will call around this weekend and figure out if we can use the church here in Layton. I appreciate the offer Elana but last time we drove down to Springville and wanted to keep this one up this way.

Still looking for more ladies to come.. Put out feelers to your "groups" and see if there are any that are willing to come hang out with us.

cookscrapstamp 07-13-2007 06:27 AM

It's Friday the 13th!

More ladies want to join us?? It is always a blast!

april 07-14-2007 04:16 AM

I'd love something if it were more north like Roy or Morgan as stated in the orginal post!

cookscrapstamp 07-14-2007 06:46 AM

Welcome April... We will see what we can do for location. I will tentatively put you down and will update as soon as I can.

Camie 07-14-2007 08:39 AM

card swap

Hi guys,
It's been a long time since I've been able to talk to any of you:(
Anyway, count me and my sister Tanya in for the 29th of Sep. We were so sad when we couldn't make the one in May. It will be fun to see everyone again!!!!

Camie

cookscrapstamp 07-14-2007 10:07 AM

Good to see that you can come join us Camie.. Got you and Tanya down.. Still working on the location.

mischief732 07-14-2007 12:32 PM

Just checking in to see how's plans are coming along!
Melisa

cookscrapstamp 07-15-2007 08:39 AM

Missi- Plans are coming along.. We have a date and have decided that pot luck is going to be the best way to get good foo. We just need a Location..

I also need to let you know that for those who are coming we usually do a doorprize drawing.. Basically, bring a prize, get a prize.

We need a few more ladies and we will close the sign up's on the 1st of September.

mischief732 07-17-2007 10:14 AM
