Default Wish Something Would Have Made The Retired List?

I am sure that I missed this thread somewhere, but I was just curious if there was anyone who wished there would have been certain sets on the retired list that didn't make it? Every stamp set out could possibly have been a new one in the catty.

Mine wishes that were not granted:
Sketch It
Crusin' Christmas
The Cat's Meow (I am still waiting for some great pet sets.)
Ruff Day

Gotta agree with you on the pet sets. These two just aren't doing it for me. I keep hoping for better ones!

I'd vote for all three All Year Cheer's and Cheery Chat. I want new sayings. I think they chose the wrong word sets to keep. It is amazing to me how many computerized sayings I've seen lately...hellooooooo...hint hint.

I'd have to agree that Nice and Easy Notes should have gone! Man, that is like the set that they just won't EVER retire!

But yea! The Children of the Corn are gone!!!!!

All of the above, plus fishy friends. I think all the fishy friends look as if they have had way too much to drink.

A Greeting For All Reasons, Fishy Friends, Nice and Easy Notes, Sketch It - the older sets that have been around forever.

I LOVE Ruff Day!

Ok, I love Fishy Friends. I just traded for it. Although, I will admit, I didn't take the time to actively persue a trade/purchase until I found out I was pregnant. I thought it could make some cute "kid" cards in the future. Not sure what else I will do with it.

On the other hand, I'm surprised to see Feathered Friends (I think that's the name)is hanging on. It's been in the catty since God was a boy.

I have several I would have like to have seen gone.

In my opinion they could have gotten rid of all the holiday sets except for Holiday Tag team, It's snow time, snowflakes and Holiday Spirit. I like most of the sets...am I just ready for lots of fresh and new holiday sets

I would also like to see these go in the future:

Some like it hot
Window on the World
Tags & more
Tag time
fresh flowers
burst into bloom
and almost all the vintage sets.

I agree with your sets--nice and easy notes should be gone and definately need some new pet sets. I also would have liked to see Window on the World updated ( especially those curtains!) and Merry Minis and YearRound Fun ll. Here's to next year!

I wanted Nice and Easy Notes to go, too. It is really dated. Although some of my customers like the country style still! I really thought A Greeting for All Reasons would go, too.
I was really surprised Cruisin' Christmas didn't go (do people actually buy it?). I do agree with all the Christmas ones they pitched, just wondering why more weren't. I think they know they will have the whole Holiday mini to fill up with new Christmas sets, though. Fun to see if there is a Jewish and Kwanzaa set like has been suggested!

The one I don't get is "It All Adds Up".

I can't think of a tactful way to say how tacky I think that set is.

I don't like It All Adds Up, either. I also don't like Wisecracks. Some I'm just sick of like Summer By the Sea and Love Ya Bunches.

I would like to have seen more Christmas sets go, too. I've only been a demo for 2 years, but I'm already pretty bored with their Christmas collection.

I haven't had a chance to go through the catalog with retired list in hand (unfortunately, I've been at work all day) so there will probably be more. But I also agree with the others - Nice & Easy Notes, Feathered Friend, Gnomes (ick), and the cartoon-y pet sets would have been nice to get rid of.

I'm so surprised that Nice and Easy Notes is still hanging on! Although it was my second purchase of SU stamps ever, I am sort of sick of seeing it. I guess it may still be a money maker for them.
I totally agree about the pet sets. I'm disappointed because they probably won't do a new pet ensemble!

Do you think the decisions are purely economic? Do you think they run the numbers on the sales or are other decisions involved? For Ex. Did they really sell more Cheesecloth than Linograph? Just wondering aloud.

Merry Minstrels (Hate those leggy things)
It all adds up! (yuck +yuck =YUCK!)

There are still a bunch that I'm looking forward to saying "Hasta La Vista Baby" to, but that's a long enough list for now!! *grin*

I would have to agree with It All Adds Up. Although, I kinda like Fishy Friends because my demo did a cute project which could be cute for kids.

Nice and Easy notes was one of my first SU purchase back in either 1999 or was it 1998. While I surprised it's still in the catalog it's still one one of my favorites and I advise new stampers to buy it since it's soooo easy to use.

Feathered Friends really NEEDS to go! I got it as a hostess gift back in '99. Didn't really like it then, it was the lesser of the evils, and I'm not too fond of it now.

That's funny because Holiday Spirit (and it's wheel) is the only one really on my list - I liked it and used it the year it came out, but now I want to get rid of it and cannot legally sell it until it's retired. Oh, and I agree w/ a lot of the above posts - some of the ones staying are so "old" looking to me. Maybe I've memoriezed too many catalogs! :-)

I can not believe, that they let Cruisin Christmas stay! The only explaination is they made a bunch of them, and still have them to sell!

Lisa62--did not see that one coming up on this thread! I LOVE Words by Wilson... think that a funny guy-appropriate set was a long time coming. And Computer Quips? I was waiting for something that wasn't fishing, golf or vintage for men. Both of those are only a year old... I'm surprised you're sick of them already!
I'm hoping for another set of computer sayings to go with it and more funny things to stick in the screen. Like LOL accessories only for computers! i think they really hit on something with the accessories sets....JMO
