I've heard through the grape vine SU is rolling out a new demo website. I've heard new demo's can sign up online w/ a password from their potential up-line. Does this mean SU will accept credit cards? So as a new demo, I won't need to purchase/rent a credit card machine?
Anyone have the scoop?
Thanks!
The new Stampin' Up! Demo website is not setup to take credit cards. However, I've heard posted in other threads here, posted from what they've called a very credible source, this is something that's in the works, but with no projected launch date.
I'll be curious to see if anyone else has a better inside scoop...I would sure love for this to happen!
What I can't seem to figure out is if SU will be letting new demo's sign up online instead of mailing in the traditional paperwork, we would need a credit card to purchase the starter kit right? So it would only make since to have some type of a credit option. Maybe I'm not thinking this through right......
Can someone elaborate on using PayPal for SU purchases?
Does anyone have "the scoop" on new SU demo's being able to sign-up online using some type of password system supplied by the potential upline?
I can take CC payments via paypal for SU purchases but Paypal charges you something like 2 - 3% to do this. Its no big deal but some it is so its something to think about but I love paypal i've been using it for years. I'm a demo and haven't heard about the online thing as of yet.
Demos with a DBWS can accept new demo agreements on their website. It prompts you for a password (given by your potential upline) and you will enter your info and changes (as needed) for stamp sets. Then you will enter YOUR credit card to purchase your starter kit!
I'm also a demo who accepts CC payment with paypal. I don't have a business account, but I do get charged a small fee for accepting it. I don't have enough people paying for their order with CC to justify anything else....
Yes, starting this week you can pay for your starter kit online with your credit card using the password provided by your demo. But, no, SU does not accept credit cards directly YET. Demos can sign up to accept credit cards through another vendor for a small fee per transaction.
A new demonstrator always needed to pay for the starter kit with a credit card or a certified check, so taking credit cards from demonstrators is not a new thing for SU, but it is completely different than a demonstrator takign a credit card from a customers, becasue in that instance the demonstrator is the business entity, not Stampin' Up!
I think it would be wonderful if SU started accepting credit card payments directly from customers, but it raises a whole bunch of questions regarding who is responsible for credit card fees and how the instant income that a demo is supposed to receive at the time of purchase gets paid out from that credit card payment. I know other direct sales compnies have dealt with these issues somehow, but I'm not sure if they have the same instant income arrangments as Stampin' up! demos do. Whatever happens, I'm sure it will be interesting.
But in the meantime I'm very excited about new recruits not having to mail anything in anymore and being able to sign up on-line! That will save everyone postage and time!
I have a paypal premiere account so I can accept credit cards, must have for ebay. It is cheaper than Propay which is a yearly fee and also takes a percentage. It is easy for your customers to use paypal as even if they don't have an account they can pay.
Is this up right now as we speak? (signing up through a demo's site?)
Weird, I'm getting a session timeout on my demo's site, and yours Diane...
I just changed the link in my signature so you should now be taken to my new web site when you click on that in my sig line.
As for the ability to sign up on-line, I know that the recruit needs to have a password tha tthe demo has to set up, and I have not tried doing that yet so I do not know if it's available right now, but the link is there on my website and tany potential recruit can read the demonstrator agreement without needing the password -- you only need a password to proceed to agree to the terms of the demonstrator agreement and move on to the order screen to order starter kit items.
Stampin' Up! will accept your credit card for signing up and you can do everything online without having to mail anything via snail mail...you have to get a password from your upline to be able to enroll to be a SU! Demo online.
