Default Stampin' Pastels retiring

I am a newbie and never gone through a catalog change.....was wondering about the new set of pastels. Will the individual chalks be the same size? I have been using my SIL and want to get a set for myself. Should I wait for the new set....will it have the new temporary colors in it? When I do get my set I want to replace the broken/super used colors in hers so her set doesn't look so worn out! Any suggestions/ideas would be appreciated!
Thanks!
Ksue

I don't think that they are retiring the whole set of pastels, just the new colours set that came out last year when they introduced them. They probably want to make room for the new colours that are being introduced. 9 more days till we see them!

The new "temporary" colors are not available in the pastels. They are only available in cardstock and classic ink pads. The pastels that are being discontinued are the new colors that were introduced last year. This little set was available for a year so you didn't need to purchase an entire new set of pastels. You could just remove the retiring colors, replace with this little set of pastels and then print the new pastel insert from the SU website.

I didn't know this thank you for clarifying. I forgot that the colours were only available that way. I just made an assumption that this was the reason so I appoligize for anything misleading:

Also what about the Watercolor Wonder Crayons!!! I'm afraid when they reintroduce them in the new catty in family colors they will be the same price as the other pencils, $19.95 for 12!! Hope I'm wrong, but..................I gambled, I did order them yesterday just in case. I don't need my desk cluttered up with a bunch of boxes or cups. I even put all my prisma colors and my water color pencils (101879)in a jar, colors all mixed up. I can tell what color I want by looking at them.

Has anyone ordered just the "new colours"? Do they come in a plastic case? Can someone pm me and let me know. I need to put in an order and want to know how they are packaged. If they are in their own separate plastic case (mini of the big one), I"m good with that. Otherwise I'm not sure how I would store them. I may not find this thread again that's why I asked for a PM.thanks!

I ordered these last year. Each pastel comes in a tiny individual plastic case. Kinda like an eyeshadow replacement. Its meant to go into the main case, replacing the retired colors.
