Okay guys I had to laugh reading this thread - how did I get in there with the big guns here on SCS??? I'm in the same boat as you, still awestruck by some of those ladies.
Now I'm heading off to take a peek at your galleries

I LOVE comments by anyone. Of course I'm flattered by all those you've mentioned, but I'd like to add Sereikastamper to the mix. I feel honored when she comments b/c I love her style!
I LOVE getting comments from everyone!!! (tho my gallery lately isn't too great - don't have a lot of time to stamp and the last cards I uploaded were when I was in a funk :()
I DID get a comment from Beate on one of my cards - VERY cool.
It would be really awesome to get a comment from Lisa Lisa or JulieHRR - hopefully sometime I'll make somthing worthy of their recognition LOL (they've both been published several times so I say if my work can catch their eye I gotta be doing SOMETHING right! LOL)
The brutally honest thread would be good -- sometimes you know something isn't right and you want advice. I see advice threads frequently and try to put my two cents in (constructively of course).

I am lovin' the new "view gallery" link that pops up when you click usernames -- make this sooo much easier!!!
ETA: Oh, and I now like to keep my swatch ring of SU cardstock with me at the computer so I can see color combos -- sometimes they don't look right onscreen, but when I put them together I can totally see why someone would choose them.
Okay...who keeps posting to this thread? I had gone and made comments in galleries and now I see I am way behind again! Guess dinner can wait. (Hey thanks ladies who left comments for me...hmmm Validation sure tastes great...think DD would want it for dinner?)
colleen
PS - I am going to do the "brutal honesty" thread too.

I got a comment from Beate one day and I'll admit I was floored! I love getting comments (and views) from anybody, and I too really appreciate the "why" comments. I am not ashamed to admit that comments from the mods, DD, or "well knowns" always make me feel like I must be doing something right. Thanks to all who have commented.
I too love any comments, but I sure did get a little thrill when Juliehrr made a comment on one of my cards. JeanneS is also a frequent commenter, and I love all her cards....
Comments are great, and I do try to leave something when I view a card....
Thanks to all who have taken the time to comment on my cards, or on anyones cards...I know it makes my day!

Like Suzanne said, I'm happy to receive any comments. I don't know if it's because the gallery moves so quickly, or because I haven't been too vocal around here for very long and people don't "know" me yet, or what, but it seems like comments come fewer and farther between than I thought they would. I know my stuff isn't the greatest in the world but I don't think it stinks, either.
And as Jen/Cobrielle said, I try to comment on cards that haven't received many remarks. Since I'm in the same boat, I know how rewarding it can feel to get "just one more" comment on something I've created.
This post is probably making me come across as a big ol' whiner, which I really didn't intend to do. I was just being honest about how I feel. But anyway, I'll shut up now.
Edited to add: Guess I couldn't stay shut up for too long. ;) But I wanted to say that I also realize that a lot of the time, the thumbnails in the gallery simply don't do a card justice. (Speaking for everyone's work, not just my own.) And I'll admit that I'm guilty of not opening up a card for a closer view if the thumbnail doesn't appeal to me at all.

Well if you are whinning, then so am I -- because that is how I feel too! I usually won't post if it has more than 8 (low number I know -- but there are so many worthy cards with no comments).
Ok ladies, you're not whinning. Everyone wants to know if we did something good, great, or just maybe "well......";) Unfortunately, there have been days where comments in the gallery as a whole have been few and far between. I know I've been guilty of not making it in there often enough. ;-) I'm not into making New Years resolutions, but I'm going to try to get in there more.
I always love getting comments! Nothing like people saying great things to make you feel great. I REALLY feel flattered when I see people post comments who have been SCS members for a long time because I know that they have seen A LOT of cards. I value their comments the most. Especially if it happens to be from one of the DD Divas! lol

I love comments from everyone and like it when it says what they like about my creations more than just cute or nice. And of course I was thrilled to get comments from the DD girls, I mean they are the GODESSSES of our craft!! That being said, go take a look at MY gallery and leave me a comment!! Thanks, nancyruth
I know lol I was just cracking up thinking about it!!!! LOL
Oh and little usertip....when you click on a users name and see the "view this users gallery link" RIGHT CLICK and select "OPEN IN NEW WINDOW" then you can go check out their gallery with out losing your spot where you were reading on the forums!

Awww you are so sweet! I try to leave more than a "oh pretty" comment and so I think some people think I am nuts when I say things like
OH MY WORD I LOVE THIS....you do have my address right????
or
HOLY CRAB CAKES THIS CARD IS BEAUTIFUL, I love love love how you used the ribbon through the middle of the flower! I would have NEVER thought of that!!!
LOL but that is really what I think when I look at these cards! Someday I am in such a rush I have to leave the Oh that is so cute comments, just because I have to make sure people know that I am looking and loving but don't have time to leave the entire comment cause my little men are just tearing the house up... LOL
Oh and I forgot to add, a great way to get people into your gallery is to join in the challenges and really become part of the community here.....It seems lately that I INTEND to join the challenges but then life happens and I have other deadlines....so I just end up commenting on everyone elses challenge cards!!!

Keri -- joining challenges is definitely a great way to get exposure! Most of the cards in my gallery with more than 3 comments are because I did them for the challenge and posted to that thread!
Momof2stampers also pointed out that the more you are active on the boards, posting comments, chatting, doing challenges--people get to know you and then look for stuff you have uploaded and comment on it.
I think there is a fair bit of truth to that! I got comments on some cards I uploaded before, but I started getting more comments and on more of my cards when I did the NYE/NYD challenge last week.
So I agree with Serikastamper! Do the challenges...you'll get more posts!

that reminds me.......... VSN PREGAME TAILGATE PAR~TAY TONIGHT!!!
I love it when anyone posts for my cards. I check every day to see if any one has looked at mine. Would be nice though for some of the Dirty Dozen to post comments, good, bad, or otherwise.
There, I've said it! That's the first step to recovery, right???? Yup, I will do anything, be extra-creative even just to garner a comment, preferrably lots, on a card I've made!

Hello, My name is Tina, and I'm a comment addict. My addiction started the first time I had the courage to upload a card. I fear uploading the majority of my cards, because I"m afraid they won't result in the "fix" I need..... I CASE very well, but fear these don't do the original justice.....
Maybe we should come up with a 12-step program for ourselves....whaddya think?
1) I will refrain from endlessly checking my gallery for new comments.
2) I will stop memorizing how many comments each card in my gallery has.
3) I will stop designing cards with the hope of garnering comments.
4) I will not brag about how many comments a card of mine got.
5) I will stop reading comments on my cards long enough to leave some on
other people's cards.
6) I will not jump up and down and scream when any of the DD, Emilymom,
Serikastamper, JulieHRR, JeanneS, or any other "SCS BIG GUN" comments
on a card I have made.
7) I will not shameless start a thread whose sole purpose is to get people to
look at my gallery and leave a comment.
8. I will no longer drag my DH over to the computer to read the amazing
comment that Beate gave me.
9) I will not use my gallery as the wallpaper on my computer.
10) I will learn to accept that I can live a productive life without comments.
11) I will stop ignoring my family because I am slavishly reading and
re-reading the comments in my gallery.
12) I will celebrate this new found sense of security by making a new card
and uploading it to my gallery, where it will get tons of awesome
comments from all of the DD Girlz, Beate, Emilymomto3stampers......in
fact, this card will be so awesome that Daven himself will comment on it!
ETA--I have started a new thread for those Comment Ho's among us in EC!

You got that right!! ALSO the challenges are soooooo fun and I really don't think I would be stamping the way I am today if it weren't for the challenges!
