a shoe box swap is where you bring everything to make one card ( for example) a sample is made..........it's just like a make and take , but everybody just brings one . We did one for our downline at convention and I did microbead pens . everyone there made one....I brought enough supplies for everyone . Lots of fun.....and a good time! Or maybe we could do a swap?? Like 6x6 pages??That's always great also .
I would like the idea of a shoebox swap, but I'm afraid I don't do any scrapbooking if that's what was meant by the 6X6 page. I'm not a demo, but think I could come up with an idea for the shoebox swap. This is sounding like more and more fun!
Any news on this yet????
Does everyone still want to get together? I am kinda new to Maryland, so I wouldn't know where the best place is to have it.
I think someone mentioned Frederick.
Just wondering...I am still game!

WAR EAGLE!!!
I have calls in to the New Market Grange Hall, as well as the New Market Fire Department. (Frederick, MD area)
Hope for the Grange Hall to be available. It's Bigger, has a nice kitchen and it's Cheaper! Plus - we can have it from 8am til midnite for all of those die-hard Stampers! If we are ale to get the Grange hall - I will need to send in a deposit of $150. within a week or so. I would love to have people pre-pay to reserve their spot. We don't want it to get "overbooked" and be too crowded to work comfortably.
I will let you all know when I get any sort of confirmation. I will try to draft some type of Contract / sign up sheet that I can email or attach as a PDF file.
Thanks ladies for all of the enthusiasm! I am getting excited!
Talk about an emotional rollercoaster - I have been so excited to get this thing off the ground - well, so far nothing but bad luck. I finally spoke with several people that I had calls out to.
New Market Grange Hall - not available
New Market Fire Hall - not available
Frederick City Co. 1 Fire Hall - not available
Thurmont Fire Dept. - Not available
Fred. County Library community room - too small - too short hours
Urbana VFD - haven't heard back yet
Grace Brethren Church Fellowship Hall
So, now I am wondering - should I look into a meeting room at a hotel? Should we postpone this until after the new year? Should I keep trying other options? Please send any ideas. I am running out! If there is anyone with any connections with a community group that has rental facilities please check into the Availablity of November 13th. Thanks - Michelle
I'll post if anything comes up.
I have no idea if anyone would come this far, but I'm checking into the availability and cost of my community center. The catch is I live in Alexandria, VA.
I understand completely if this is too far to relocate from Frederick but I thought I'd find out what the options were if any.
i'm south of d.c. (stafford) and would love to try to come to this... is it only demonstrators, or is anyone invited? never done anything like this before and i'm feeling reinvigorated about stamping with no outlet around here... at least i haven't found one yet... keep posting!
