What would the price be? I can't spend the kids college fund on this LOL! Hubby has been sooo kind with my Hotel  I'd hate to hold my hand out for more although he did say "I want you to enjoy this little vacation, you deserve it" Gosh, being a SAHM has it's ups & downs.
Dinner on Friday March 11, 6p.m., at Azio Downtown, an Italian restaurant close to the convention center and hotels. We'll have a private room. You'll have a choice from each catagory following:
Insalate/salads:
1. Insalata della casa ~ mixed field greens in red wine vinaigrette with roma tomatoes and a garlic crostini
2. Insalata cesare ~ crisp romaine and herbed croutons in creamy caesar dressing with imported parmesan
Secondi/entrees:
1. Fettucine Primavera ~ egg noodles in an asiago cheese alfredo sauce with bell peppers, carrots, mushrooms, sweet peas, yellow squash and zucchini
2. Chicken Marsala ~ a pair of sautéed chicken breasts topped with our sweet marsala wine sauce and crimini mushrooms, served with fresh vegetables and herbed pasta
3. Ravioli Florentine ~ pasta stuffed with pureed walnuts, spinach and pecorino-romano cheese, in a light lemon-butter cream sauce with asparagus, mushrooms and sun dried tomatoes
4. Penne Telefono ~ penne pasta, grilled chicken breast, shredded mozzarella and fresh basil tossed in spicy tomato sauce
5. Veal Piccata ~ tender veal scallopine in a tangy white wine sauce with butter, capers and lemon, served with fresh vegetable and herbed pasta
Dolce/dessert:
Chef's choice Dessert platters ~ variety of sample-size portions of tiramasu, cheesecake, cakes, tortes, etc. Variety will depend on the chef.
Beverages:
Choice of coffee, tea or soft drink
Any other beverage choices like wine, beer, juices, etc will have to be paid for when ordered. ;)
Cost is $25.95 per person, plus 8% tax, 21 % service charge so let's say total cost is $34 each. I'll take paypal (my preference) or personal checks, money order, etc. If you wish to paypal using a credit card, the cost is $1 more at $35, so I don't lose money on the deal.
And get this! The best news: we don't have to clear out once dessert is over. They will let us do our shoebox party at the restaurant! Yea! So more details to come on the shoebox party!
I'm attending Sat. Don't think I can swing the dinner thing. You know the deal...newbie demo, SAHM, and I gotta get a hair cut before I get mistaken as the family's dog and we don't have one!!!
Y'all have fun now ya hear!

I am hoping to meet some SC Stampers though...I am going alone and am praying that the table I join would be from SCS! Such a great group of people ... so much talent !
I'll be looking for you!

Saturday For Me!
Well, it's a struggle but I will be flying out of the Upper Peninsula of Michigan with our 300 inches of snow and going to beautiful Atlanta, GA. during it's early spring! I can hardly wait. I will be there on Saturday! Hope to see you all there.
Sorry I've been away from the thread. My youngest was sick, then both boys had a school holiday, then we were frozen in... yada yada yada.
A shoebox party is a get-together where you bring a project and supplies for others to complete. Normally you would bring enough supplies for everyone to make the project, but in our case we won't have enough time for that. We'll probably make enough for 10 people and it will be like a lottery as to who gets which project. You would need to have one completed project to accompany your "shoebox" so we can see what it's supposed to look like. Then you have all the paper already cut and in baggies so we can just grab what we need. You'll supply the ink and the stamps. It works better if each stamp stays with just one color so it won't need to be cleaned between impressions. We bring our own adhesive, etc. We're asking that these be projects take no longer than 5 minutes to make and also to be demonstratable.
Oh, and dinner is scheduled for 6 p.m. I edited the original dinner info to include it Thanks for pointing out that little error.
I planned on 6 p.m. because many times with a large group you don't get fed for a long time after you're seated. I've experienced my entree coming as late as 1 1/2 hours after being seated. With a shoebox party afterward, I thought this was best.

When's the deadline for letting you know? I am local to Atlanta so it's harder to make definite plans due to family, baby sitter, etc. I'm also bringing a friend so I'll need to check with her and her situation.
I pm'd about being there Saturday. Unfortunately won't make dinner Friday. I'll probably just be rolling into Atlanta about that time if I can arrange child care until my hubby gets home from work. If not, I'll be coming in REAL late. Still need to find a room! Thanks for reminder, I need to get that done today!
Any gathering for Sat. night? -those of us that are going to the Sat. regionals, some may not get in to ATL until later on Fri or just in time for dinner (but nto time enough to check into hotel, change etc).
Myself and my mom and aunt will all be arriving Friday evening. Mom and I live in Pensacola FL and it takes approx 5 hours to get to ATL and we cannot leave until 3 at the latest (when my husband is home from work), but possibly earlier if my dad can take a few hours off early (owns his own company) to take the kids for me until DH is off work.
My aunt is coming in from St. Louis MO for this regional and will be making a 10 hour drive to ATL.
So anything in the works for Sat night? Or do we want to come up with something???
Marcia,
Please add Frances Wagner and Judi Moore to that list,,,, we are coming with Sandra on Sat..
We will be mailing payment to you but I need your snail mail...
Please respond to [email protected]
Ok I guess my last post wasn't too clear... Frances and I want to sign up for dinner and the shoebox swap on Friday... please let me know where to send $$$$ I don't do paypal.,
Thanks
Judi
I am attending on Saturday. I live n. of the city and honestly don't want to fight traffic to go into the city on a Friday evening (Atlanta traffic is a nightmare!!!) but would love to attend if anyone plans something for Saturday.
Is there a shoebox swap going on and dinner on Friday? Can we just meet up for the Swap after dinner is finished? I couldn't tell from the many posts. I haven't signed up for dinner yet as I wasn't sure if it was for a meal and than swap project at the same location or not. Sorry for all the questions!
I would like to sign up myself Carol Oswald and my upline, Tanya Hyde for the SCS dinner. I will pay by paypal as soon as I get your response that there is still time to sign up.
Carrie ~ I'd love it if I could know by March 4th. That's just a week before the gathering and would give us time to get the payment for dinner. But if you plan to paypal the $$$, then even a few days prior is okay with me. But we'd love to have you and it'll be worth the drive. ;)
Judi~I sent you a PM (sorry I did that out of habit instead of your email :() but didn't want to fill up your box with another repeat message. But I do have you & Frances down for dinner and shoebox swap, and that you're mailing your payment. Thank you!
Jen W~ we'd love to have you if you decide to fight the traffic. I know it's going to be crazy but I plan to head down early to make sure everything is ready. Hope you'll decide to come
Shari~got you and Jennifer down for dinner and the shoebox swap. And I've got your $$$, too
Stacey & Kelli ~ let me check into doing just the shoebox swap. We are definitely doing this at the restaurant after dinner & dessert are through, so I need to ensure they'll let y'all in without charging us a per person cost, or expecting you to order. I doubt it will be an issue, but I want to verify first. But we'd love for you to join us! Dinner will be excellent, plus lots of fun! And you have to eat, right? ;)
Carol~ I have you and Tanya all signed up for dinner and the shoebox swap. You can paypal anytime Thanks so much!
Can I tell you all that I am soooo excited about this?! We are going to have a blast!
Marcia,
I would also love to join the dinner and shoebox swap. I am still trying to find an extra bed in Atlanta for Fri night so if anyone on this post is interested in splitting the cost or needs a roommate please let me know otherwise I'll be driving up Fri night in time to be there Sat morning for the regional :( . I live on the east coast of Florida so I think it's a 10 hour drive (yuck!). ALSO, if anyone would like to carpool~ let me know. It sure would help to split the cost!
I would also like some more info on what a shoebox swap is.
Here are the details for the shoebox swap. Just ask if you have questions. I've tried to cover everything here, but have proven that I'm forgetful
Shoebox Details
This is Bring Your Own Tools: adhesive, bone folders, scissors, Stampin' Scrub, etc. Make sure your name is on everything ;) You'll use these as you create the projects. Have one complete project as an example for us to go by. This will stay with the shoebox. Make enough for 10 projects. Pre-cut all the supplies needed, including cardstock, fiber, ribbons, etc. These will be full cards, not just card fronts. Current SU! products only; this does allow for Spring Mini sets to be used. Yea! At least 2-3 layers. Please have some type of embellishment, whether fiber, ribbon, eyelets, etc. Package everything needed in individual envelopes, cello bags, baggies etc. This way each person just grabs what they need. Include typed Instructions, Supply List and your contact info Project should be a quick & easy item, demonstratable (say that 5 times fast!), and completed in 5-7 minutes.
Important tip: In planning your project, consider our situation. It would be best if each stamp were used only in one color ink, to avoid having to clean it between inkings.
I cannot find an email or PM, or even possibly a reply, where someone had offered to make the nametags for us. They had asked if Laurel had made all those for convention last summer.
So, if you read this and would still like to help out, will you please reply, PM, or email me?
For the shoebox swap... how many do we plan for? If a small number can we do more than one group... ok I'm a SUCKER for make and takes..lol..
but want to have the MOST fun...
