Question Question about mounting new SU stamps

I'm running out of room for all my stamps so I decided to go unmounted with the brand new SU sets I just bought. I'm cheap so I decided to go with Aleene's Tack It Over. I just want to make sure I have the directions down correctly before I ruin something I just bought!!! I want to keep the foam on so it is my understanding that I can just peel off the clear sticker and place it right on the sticky gray foam. Then I brush on Aleene's on top of the sticker and wait for it to dry clear. Is that right?

Yes...that is what I have done...the other thing that you will want to do is...once the glue is dry (at least overnight)...I put the stamps on my shirt or pants a couple of times....the tackit is really sticky and the foam is "tender" ...doing this takes a little of the "sticky" out of the glue and helps make it easier to get the stamps off your acrylic block without damaging the cushion.

Oooh, I like this idea with the foam and stickers. I knew of Aileen's Tack it Over and Over as well as the EZ Mount method. And I was thinking about putting the stickers onto the rubber (totally not thinking of keeping the foam on) and was wondering if it would work. As usual, glad I read this board, I always find out something new and useful.

I have found in the past that the stickiness of the gray foam is enough without adding the TIOAO initially. Now, that's real laziness.......

Just be careful, that stuff is super-tacky. When I tried this method initially, my stamps stuck to the storage surface permanently. Thankfully I tried some older sets first. The way I UM my stamps now is on my blog. I have found it a lot easier in the long run. Whatever system you choose, just try it out first on one or maybe two sets for a while so you can revamp it to fit your needs without having to change a lot of sets. Good luck!
