Default Question about applying glitter

Hi all... long time lurker with a question about applying glitter. I make simple cards - occasionally I'll use ribbon or even use embossing powder. I have never used glitter and want to try making some cards with a little glitter accent. What product do you use to adhere the glitter? Do you use a glue pen? Thanks in advance for any advice.

You can use a glue pen or crystal effects or even versamark.

I use SU's 2-way glue. I did about 50 Christmas cards and it worked well. I also like Heat and Stick Powder because you get less flaking if you are doing a larger spot. I'm Crystal Effects retarded and also get too much on the card and it sticks up too much for my taste, but it works. I can't remember what company sells Stickles, those are really cool. There was a thread one of these days about it. It is glue and glitter all in one.

Default Versamark?

Thanks for the suggestions... a followup question about using Versamark - do you just sprinkle the glitter over the Versamark stamped image and it will stick? Do you have to do anything to dry it (heat?) or do you just let it dry naturally (and how long will it take)?

In response to your message below, I'll use versamark for something like the Lovely As a Tree stamp set after I've stamped and colored the trees. I'll use the versamark pen to select just those areas where I want glitter to go. I haven't used the heat and glue stick yet, but I bet that works great.

My most fave method lately is to use my Sakura Gelly Roll CLEAR GLITTER pen! It is awesome! And cheap, like $1.50-$2/pen

It is clear in color but glittery, so you can just draw on glitter wherever you want. Dries in an instant!

And if I want lotsa glitter, I use my 2way glue pen and the dazzling diamonds glitter!

I use the SU! 2-way glue pen, or even better the heat & stick powder. Heat & stick powder is a little extra work, but totally worth it IMO. When you use heat & stick, you can run your fingers over the glitter and it stays right where you stamped it - not on your fingers!

I wouldn't use Versamark unless you're using a glitter embossing powder. I would think that once it dried the glitter would fall off all over the place! Versamark is not a glue! OK I just tried this and the glitter rubbed right off!

I use either Stickles or a Crystal Effects like glue and regular glitter.

If I'm doing a glitter window, I use either contact paper or clear packing tape to adhere the glitter. If I want glittery stamped words, I use heat & stick. If I need my snow hills to have sparkly clumps of snow by the snowman, I use crystal effects and sprinkle it with glitter (letting it dry with dimension). If I want a sheen, with a hint of glitter I mix a tiny bit of glitter with my crystal effects and paint it on (where ever I need it) with a small brush.

I started the thread asking about Stickles a few weeks ago and I've quickly turned into a Stickles lover. This is no mess glitter. I found 6 colors at JoAnn's. If you refer to the Stickles thread there are tons of other colors to choose from and suggestions of companies that sell it. I would link the thread here but I'm not sure how to do that. Sorry :(

I agree! I tried Stickles after reading about it here, and it rocks! It's no mess and very pretty.
