I don’t know how much “work” you want to put in to getting your background paper just right. But if you have the supplies, you could purchase some script background paper that is “too white” but then warm it up with some distress ink in Antique Linen for example. Or if you find one where you think the script is too prominent for your purpose, you could lightly sand it, or put a thin coat of distress stain in Picket Fence to soften and blur the writing so it fades into the background more.
Lastly, search for Free Printable antique script paper. A few years ago I found some antique looking sheet music to print out for Christmas cards.
