Ok, I have some 12 x 12 cs and some of the die cut stuff that is also 12 x 12 and have no idea how to store it. I have VERY limited space, as we are living with family while my dh is deployed, so I need something compact. I'd love to have a nice filing system for it when I get my stamp room, but for now I need some type of container to keep it in. It has to be something relatively kid-proof, as my stamp stuff is in a corner of the kitchen right now in various rubbermaid containers. Thanks!
I just put mine in the craft keepers (I think that's what they are called). The one I have is 12x12 plastic with dividers and has a handle. I put vellum in one, CS, designer papers, die cut tags/boxes each in their own section. It's small and keeps them from getting ruined. Michaels and Hobby Lobby have them.
Do those keep it stiff enough not to muss the paper? I was thinking about those, but wasn't sure if they'd keep it nice. I guess if you haven't had any problems they should be ok. I have 3 little boys that run off with my stuff sometimes so I don't want it to be anything easily opened.
I have two Crop In Style Paper Takers for 12x12 plus a couple flimsy plastic things. If you have enough CS for it, you don't have to worry about it bending! I used a Michael's 50% off coupon for one of the paper takers and got the other one for 50% off at Target when they cleared them out. The flimsy stuff Michaels just had for $.99.
I use the Cropper Hopper vertical holders and I love them. They are great for cs and won't bend or wrinkle. For patterned paper I use the thinner ones- not sure what they're called- and they keep the thinner paper nice and straight. I put these into a paper holder so they sit up nicely on my shelves.
Thanks for all the great ideas ladies! I love the wooden one and the black crate style file system, but my boys would just yank all the paper out! It's gotta be something that I can close up. I like the things listed on QVC.....I am assuming that one with the blue lid will hold the 12x12 flat?!?!

Probably, but the point of the vertical holder is so that you don't have to pick the other papers up to get to what you want. You can see it all when it's vertical and you just pull it out without having to lift the others out of the way.

I know, I am really thinking that is the way to go. Unless I find something great at Office Depot today, I'll be ordering mine tonight!
I was wondering about the vertical paper holder. Are the individual folders sturdy enough so your papers do not bend if it is not totally full? How about the corners getting bent? Seems like a great idea. I am just a bit skeptical about the strength of the folders.
I have a big folder I got at Wal-mart in the scrapbooking section - I can't remember who makes it but it is a frosted plastic outside and zips all the way around and has dividers inside (maybe 10) it has handles on the outside.
I fit a whole pack of The Slab in there (~ 200 pages) plus other 12x12 I have picked up here and there in addition to SU designer paper.
I have it sorted by color types for my non SU paper and then my SU paper has it's own little section.
I paid about $10 for it. and it is great to be able to take with you and takes up very little space - you can lay it flat or store it upright.

Bummer! I went to walmart here and looked yesterday and they had squat!! Oh well. I am going to try Office Depot, Hobby Lobby and a local scrappin store today and see what I come up with. If I don't turn up something here, I am ordering the verticle file.
Thanks for posting this! That is one of my projects to clean up my paper "mess"! I've been wondering what to do with my growing collection of 12X12 paper. You guys are so full of ideas!
I saw those at Wal Mart but decided to go with the plastic "cases" like SU sells. I have mine full and the paper stores well and it was cheap for now. I have limited space so wanted something "cheap" till I get my own craft room then will buy some sort of storage maybe like those wire cubes from Target someone posted on here. For now I like the plastic storage cases that close with velcro.
I bought the wire grid cubes from Walmart or Target. Made up one cube and then used the other grids as shelves. I used twist ties to attach them.
here is a photo. NOt mine but you get the idea.
