Oh this is better than Christmas! I've been reading the threads from all you gals who are going to sign up in Jan to be a demo, and all of the wonderously generous suggestions from you current demos, and I decided to make the leap and become a demo! (ooh that felt good typing it!)
I drove by my demo's house today on another errand, and there she was getting out of her van in the driveway! When she waved hello I took it as a sign to stop and ask her about it. Got the package, told my husband about it, and he said yes!
Not that I need his PERMISSION or anything, but as a SAHM it kinda needs to be a joint decision...
Whooo hoooooooooooooo!!!!! Six years of stamping and I'm jumpin in!
Thanks to all you gals on this board, you've really inspired me!
that's wonderful news and I agree that when you have the support from your DH, it means all the difference! Mine thinks I care about SU! more than him.... :?

Mine says he KNOWS I care more about SU than him!!

Now it's on to the picking of the stamps! I have about 15 sets from the current catty, but only itty bitty bkgrnds from the suggested ones. but I know what styles I'm enthusiastic about, and have been carefully reading the threads by other new demos on which to pick.
MAIN DILEMA all except two of my pads are the old style (mint melody--yuck! and my new vanilla craft), so should I just get the ones I know I use? I have all of the markers (thanks to my DH for Christmas!). I am not a BB girl, mainly EE & RR with few SS, but can't live w/o Old Olive, Mellow Moss, Brocade Blue, Going Grey and Rose Red.
How important will it be for me to demo the new (new to me) stamp pads? Is it ok if I use my old ones? Should I list the old ones on Ebay and use the profits to get the new ones? And do new stampers really go for the Bold Brights? Do the old reinkers match the new pads?
Yea! My hsband also agreed to demo-ship but keeps asking me if I'm sure SU is not some kind of cult!????HAha Esp. since I spend SO much time on this site!!!
About the inkpads, I would deffinately consider getting your most used ones in the new pad style, however I have on old pad (mellow moss) that I try to bring along and use, it doesn't take long for people to realize how WONDERFUL our new inkpads areas opposed to the old style and they will tend to buy inkpads from you and n ot the craft store then.
Congrats on being a demo from another SAHM.
My hubby "approved" me joining and now apporves even more, he had read a demo agreement I was checking for a member of my downline and asked what a supporting demo was...needless to say he is now my supporting demo! And he truely is, he helps me with planning and paper cutting and all. Not to mention emotional support!
I might suggest to you that as one of you stamp sets you get one of the all year cheer sets. You can make so many cards with these greetings and the simple fonts tend to go with many styles of stamped art.
Yeah for you! It's one of the most exciting (and personally fulfilling) things I've done. I joined in July....never thought I would, but I made both sides of my stampin' start too!
Welcome aboard. You're gonna love it!

I demo with both old and new pads. I don't have all the new pads yet, and don't want to fork over the dough for all of them while the old ones work perfectly well. I make sure to point out that the new pads are the ones they will receive. As for what colors to get-- get the colors you love. They're the ones you'll use the most.
If you've been stamping with SU long enough to know your favorite colors, then GET THOSE! If you are concerned about having 'popular' colors, get the BB spots. Good luck in your new endeavor.
Congratulations mj, can't wait til its my turn. My DH is not totally sold on the idea, and I want to keep peace in the house  . Besides 2 of my sisters already sell, so i guess I'll put it on hold at least for another year.

Happy dancin' with ya mj. My hubby didn't say yes instead he said he was staying out of it. When I finally did drag it out of him he told me he was concerned about it affecting my relationship with my demo who is one of my closets friends. ( well duh! who's demo isn't? I mean she stamps right?! Hello???)
About the old style pads...I plan on showing what they were as I have all the EE in that style. I also have some of the new style and the spots in RR, BB, and SS. Personally I think that shows folks that even though SU changed it's style it didn't change the colors on it's customers.
