When you dampen the paper blending stumps with it, they become like blender pens for colored pencils. Regular Crayolas will work, but Prismacolor pencils have softer leads and are higher quality.

Didn't she do just that in a thread a couple of months ago? Guess it's a catch-22, huh, since you'd have to search for it! ;)
Rachel ~~ I'm having such a heck of a time using the new advance search feature..... I can't find anything  , I keep getting No Matches Found! ;) Maybe I need to spend some time playing with it!

Try keeping your search terms vague to start with. You can always refine it if you get too many results.

Jumping in here, I needed to do a search today and wasn't getting anywhere with the advanced search, either. What I did was to find a post by who I thought had originally written a reply or original post, and then clicked on the dot by their name, and in the drop down there is a "find all posts by" option........low and behold, I found the post I was searching for!

Thanks Rachel. I love using colored pencils and blending with the stumps. I may have to stop into Michaels and find some of this!
Hi guys...I just had a little Gamsol adventure yesterday thought I'd share:
Wanted to try it out b/c I love my Prismacolor Pencils so I hop in the car, drive to the local Beverly's (like Michael's - but ours does not carry OMS in any brand) thinking THEY for sure would have it...nope, but they did carry the stumps in two different sizes (and a lot of other tempting things), at a good price, bought those, back in the car...traffic...
Went down the road heading to an actual artist/framing store Aaron Brother's (they have everything) EXCEPT OMS, in fact the gal hadn't ever heard of it...hello, you'd think that Prismacolor would start making some. Back in the car...DD hungry and complaining...OK ONE more stop then I'm giving up.
Drive to the local Ace Hardware, that's the ticket...can is HUGE but only $3 with tax. Sold!
Went home tried them out...OK, need to practice with the blending of the different colors...like light to dark, etc...but it looks like it has potential. The link given above for the technique tutorial is very helpful and informative.

Know someone who is buying or selling real estate? Relocating to the Bay Area? Let me know, I LOVE referrals!
just a quick tip - if you have a huge can or even a small jar. You can take a sponge and cut a small piece from it - then soak it in the OMS and just dip your stump or tortillion or whatever you use in the sponge instead of the jar. It does dry out in about an hour or so but much safer than having all the OMS around! I keep mine in a baggie.
This sounds like a great technique, and just when I am getting the hang of the aquabrush! But being asthmatic, I am thinking I should not try this one.
I will live vicariously through your artwork, ladies!
