Favorite Background Stamp?
I have two background stamps - Aida and Flannel. I want to get some more but can't buy ALL of them.
I want to get maybe two more, but which ones should I choose?

Linen and Floral. Since you have two cloth related ones, I'd definitely go with Floral (it looks awesome with lots of color combos--including light craft on dark cardstock)

Linen is my favorite SU background. You might want to look at Cornish Heritage Farms also. They have wonderful backgrounds for 1/2 what SU charges because you can get them unmounted on ez foam. Just lay on your table, ink and press the paper on top.
I particularly like their polka dot.

Paisley, linen and floral. You already own my 2 favorites. After these I pick On the Spot, Canvas and Crosshatch.

Just noticed this discussion and had to enter my votes... haha
I love dots and daisies, fine lace and french script as well. Ooooo and print pattern works really nicely. Can you tell I'm addicted?

Oh, good point. CHF has lots of great background stamps. I love the
ezmount convenience. I was able to finally get chicken wire from them and jelly beans. .... I know... I'm addicted.

Oh I agree...I'm a SU demonstrator and know the quality. But when cost and storage space comes into play, I understand that going unmounted has a lot of benefits. Plus CHF has a lot of backgrounds you can't get from SU. It's just another option.

I really like print pattern it makes good masculine cards and I've seen it done lots of ways. You can stamp in the diamonds and they can also be highlighted in such a way that they just seem to pop off the page. I also really like linen for the texture it gives. Those are probably my top two although I have to admit I love french script, floral, weathered, and a few others. Just be forewarned backgrounds are like potato chips you can't have just one.

Ditto! Print pattern is a must have. So is French Script. I think these two would round out your BGs nicely.

So are you saying that you don't bother mounting these bg stamps from CHF? Thanks!

I get mine with the "smart cushion" and "attach" them to the back of a SU mounted background.

You might have thought of this already. You could head on over to the gallery and see all of these background stamps in action. Just look under the first letter of each of the stamps' names that have been listed in this thread. You will see just how beautiful and versatile all of the SU background stamps are. The examples might help you make up your mind which two stamps should be on the top of your list.
My fav's are Print Pattern and French Script.
I also think that Cornish Heritage Farms backgrounders are a great bargain. Like Joan B, I am a polka dot fan.

Can't choose 2. Sorry.
Canvas, Linen, Weathered.
Then I still insist on Paisley & Floral.
All the rest have their good qualities as well!

Well, if we're talking SU backgrounds, then I'd have to say Linen, Canvas and Floral. But I think my all-time favorite background is a retired one from CTMH called Cathedral Windows -- it's from the days when CTMH was still wood-mounted (so it dates to at least the 2003-2004 catalog).
I'll attach my favorite card that I made with Cathedral Windows so you can see this cool background.

For me it is canvas, then paisley- and I have a harlequin (diamond) background from some other company that I reach for a lot.

Since you already have two texture stamps, I would go with French Script (which looks great layered over another BG stamp) and either Paisley or Print Pattern. You really won't be able to stop at just four, however...

Yes, I just lay them face up on my desk, ink and press paper on top. Works like a dream
