I also think there are more and more cards in the gallery. Today I looked and there were 26 pages of cards just for today!!
I also think that when there is a specific holiday coming up (especially Christmas) I tend to look for things I can dulpicate with sets I have. So I am generally clicking on things I have the chance of making. (not trying to be flippy, just stating why I have made less comments than I usually do ).

I tend to look for sets that I have and can CASE. I do comment on those that "jump" out at me when I don't have the set - even if I know I would never recreate or even attempt it.
I try to comment on as many as I can. Sometimes - I skim through very quickly or don't comment because I have my 3 month old on my lap.

Oh I know I post more but it seems like all the images only have 1-2 comments...
I understand holidays and I am very glad to be rid of the rating system, I thought that was defeating the purpose. I think the purpose of sharing artwork is to be complimented or encouraged so the person posting wants to create and share MORE.
Just thinking out loud ladies! Thanks!
I do agree. It seems like the post #'s per card are always low. I sometimes find a card I love and can't believe no one has commented yet. I too am thankful the rating sytem is gone!

Of course, I also somehow miss some artwork. I have done searches for particular sets and will find some that don't have any comments. I am on here everyday/all day long, so don't know how I miss them.
I also wonder if people figure - "well, it's already been said" type of thing. I mean, some ideas have 100s of views and maybe 3-5 comments.
On that note - does it count every time I click on the image? Sometimes I look at it, move on, and will look at it again. Then I will save it and look at it again when I am ready to CASE. If it counts each time I look at it, then I am definitely skewing the viewed numbers. :?

Some may be intimidated but what to say. I am one of few words when leaving comments. I mostly want them to know I looked and appreciated enough to say so. It is all I ask for mine too.

that is what I don't get is when you see that some photo has like 200 posts but no comments...what's up with that?
A simple "good job" or "pretty" or "like the colors" is better than nothing.
but when you see no comments you think "what's wrong with my art?"
just me?

nope - I'm with you on this one. I have thought to myself the same thing. Of course, there are ones of mine that I just absolutely love and get nothing. Then there are those of mine that I think are so so and receive some great compliments. Guess there is no figuring it out.

It never fails...I see a card that just Wow's me. I go to leave a comment, and darned if my exact thoughts - sometimes word for word - were just left by the previous poster! Guess it shouldn't matter if I leave the same or nearly the same sentiment - the point is to comment , right??
And I don't really think there are fewer comments since the rating system was dropped - just more cards! This morning there were 31 pages (of 12...) That's incredible!!

ya know...i'd even be happy with a "Ditto" or "my thoughts exactly" post!
I agree...the things I think are blah...people compliment, the things that are WOW...i don't the response I expected.
I think many check each morning see if there are new comments :-) I try to make as many comments as I can. Being teacher, I learned there is always something nice to be said about anything.
One morning my 6 yr old son asked what time it was in New York. We are Atlantic time so it was 8 am our time, I said 7 am in New York, they are just getting up. Curiously, I asked why he wanted to know.
"I want to see if any of them made a comment on my card!" (He thinks everyone south of the border are from New York, I guess, or at least on Eastern time zone!
I can't answer for everyone else, but I have been so sick that I haven't even looked at the gallery lately. I have just been barely surviving my own cardmaking and all of the sudden my eyes get stuck on the forums in SCS. I need to step away from the computer. I have so much else to do......ARRRRRG!

I am one of the " newbies " and guilty of looking but not commenting often enough. So starting tonight I am going to change my ways even if I say the same thing as someone else, thanks for reminding us to help brighten someones day
