There is a whole forum now of challenges...a new one is posted almost every day, plus there is the ongoing monthly Christmas Card Challenge. Have you ever participated in a challenge? If not, why not?
They are fun and a great way to "meet" people here. Is there something the Challeneg Hostesses (including me) could do to convince you to play?
Well, hello there, Jami! Do I participate, it's what got me totally hooked on this place, that collage challenge in particular so many months ago!! Now, I haven't been as "good" lately, been just a tad preoccupied ;) but, I'm trying!!
I was going strong for a while and then life and work and new demoship took over. I try really hard to get in on them, but I do miss some, now. I really love them and use them when I have a specific project and no ideas...
Time's getting in the way, but I think it's fabulous that there are so many challenges to get our creative juices flowing. I'm diligently writing down every single challenge and I hope to jump on the wagon when time will allow. Long live the challenges!
Hey Valerie and Hey Jean Marie! I myself have not been able to get entries in over the last few weeks. So I totally get that! I have found the challenges to be great inspiration for when I *need* a card for someone though. Ihate that I haven't been in them.
So far 5 people have said in the poll that they don't really know about the challenges. There is a forum called Weekly Challenges. Click on it and you'll see categories for the different challenges. I host the Limited Supply Challenge which comes out every Friday. The challenge is to make a card from the limited list of supplies provided for that week. There is a sketch challenge where Andrea Sophie takes an inspiration card and makes a sketch of the layout - the challenge is to make a card using that layout. There is a technique challenge, a color combo challenge, etc. All of the challenges are meant to spur your creativity in some way and we would love for everyone to play anytime you can!
If possible you upload your creation to the gallery and use the code for that week's challenge in the keyword section (for example limited Supply this week is LSC11). Then you go to the specific Challenge thread and post a link to your creation. Any of the hostesses or other participants will be happy to help you if you're not sure how to do this.
If you've never done a challenge - why not go to that forum and just try one this weekend!
If you have questions feel free to post them here or PM me.
i don't have time, but i keep saving the weekly sketch challenges for "future" use! i am hooked on keeping up with those particularly. love seeing all the variations people come up with. next fall, when i am no longer working, i am hoping they will still be going strong, and i will jump in every week, I hope...

I *LOVE* the challenges!!!! Sometimes life gets in the way, but I usually try to do at least one challenge a week or combine 2 or 3 of the challenges into 1!!!!
I have looked at some of the challenges and I think they are awesome. I'm a SAHM and I barely have enough time to stamp. However, when I'm out and about, there are lots of ideas floating in my head, just don't have enough time to stamp them on paper. I really think that I might enjoy doing them one day, just like I would like to find time to do RAKs. I just have to be patient.
I love the challenges, especially the sketch challenge!!! My DH laughs at me on Wednesday because I'm logging in before bible study. The only problem is, life lately doesn't let me stamp enough! :( I do print them off weekly and sometime try to get one done. Those that haven't made it to a card yet, have inspired me to try different things.

I am with her on this. I am just trying to get through this month, with end of the year teacher gifts and working on all sumer bdays (when I seefamily I will give to parents to disperse so I don't have to mail.) And the scrapbooks for my dd's class. Hopefully after all of this I can join in. i have been wanting to since I first saw them. Even printed off a few of the sketches for ideas.
I love the challenges! But lately, I have no time to stamp other than just a quickie card here and there. I do intend to catch up with them at some point! I'm a month behind on the Christmas card challenge.
I don't participate in the challenges, but not for any of the reasons given. I love the idea of them, but I have so many ideas of my own that I never get around to doing any of the challenges! I probably will join in one of these days. I love seeing all the different interpretations of one basic idea. People have such different creative responses to them.

I did participate once with the card sketch challenge during SAB but have not had time since then.
I have used the layouts from the card sketches to create set samplers for mini catalog stamp sets.
I am using one of the layouts for an upcoming sketch challenge for my stamp club customer card swap. I am going to create my swap card this month using one of the sketches and give it to them with a copy of the sketch and challenge them to create their cards for our June swap using the sketch. This way they will have a sample and the sketch to use for inspiration. I can't wait to see what they come up with.
I love seeing what people do with these challenges. So even though I don't always participate I do enjoy checking them out.

I used toi do the challanges faithfully every week, but since I signed on I just haven't had as much time with setting my business up and everything. I plan on starting back into them a little more each week.
I did get my mom (grammasandycandy) hooked on the sketch challange each week though, does that count?

I love the challenges! I have don't several of the sketch challenges but I did them over a stamping weekend with my best friend and my mom. I posted them all at one time in the gallery because I don't know how to put a link to them in the forum and it was way past when they were posted. When time allows I will sit down and do the ones that I just haven't gotten to yet. Keep them coming though, they are great! I would love to the scrapbook sketch challenges but I haven't started a scrapbook yet. I know that when I do the sketch challenge will be a great place to start. I am still trying to organize the 1000's of pics that I have and deciding what I what to scrapbook first. I guess I am still a little intimidated by it but it is the reason I started stamping in the first place. As for all the other challenges I haven't done any of them yet but I just haven't had time. I hope to get to them soon when life slows down. lol

I love seeing the challenges. But as I voted - I'm a little shy about uploading. I have saved every Sketch Challenge (thank you Andrea) as a reference for working outside of my comfort zone.
I love the Color Combo challenges for the same reason. I lot of the time, I look at the Color challenge and think WOW I would have never thought of that.
I haven't started any scrapbooking yet, but I am keeping a reference file of those sketches too. My grandkids are now getting into sports and I want to start scrapping their "careers".
I love the other challenges too. I just don't have enough time to do them all. But I am keeping a reference file on them also. Someday, when I am no longer doing a 11 hr day (2 hr commute) or maybe when I can retire. I want to be able to use all these challenges.
So, basically, keep them coming and know that I - as well as others - appreciate them very much, even if we don't upload.
But that being said, I am going to go upload some cards I did yesterday. I was able to get 4 cards done in one sitting. Wow - I was soo happy.

I love looking at all the posts in the challenges. I have posted once, but am generally too shy to post my work compared with some of the great artists here. Also, it's hard to find time, especially this time of year when there's Mother's Day, Father's Day, and graduation cards to make. But I truly appreciate the inspiration I get from everyone's challenges. Thanks to the weekly faithful who always find time and creativity. I'd be lost without you!
StampinCPA and everyone else that is too shy to post...PLEASE don't be shy! We would love to see your work, and the challenge forums are a great place to start expanding your skills. It is also a great way to get to "know" other stampers.
Please check out this thread concerning the how-tos of posting a card and adding a link to a thread.
I voted "every week" - I just started, but as I read above, they are getting me inspired. I will say, I opened my gallery yesterday and have been a little obsessive about checking for new comments (it's always so nice to hear something about your work!)
I love the challenges & get so many ideas from the sketches. I wish I had more time to do it, maybe I will make it my summer time goal, when I am working less. I say, keep 'em coming!
I love the challenges, but right now my 'stamping space' is in disarray (we painted and rearranged) and I haven't truly stamped at all in ages! Also, my scanner isn't hooked up right now (also as a result of the reorganization), but I'm hoping to be up and running again within a week or two!

I love the challenges! I started with one (thanks MammaKimberly!) Now I try to faithfully do 2 a week and am trying to add a 3rd. Before you know it I will be addicted to them all. I thought all I was able to do was CASE and was happy with that. These challenges have forced me to make my own creative decisions. My SIL who introduced me to stamping 8 years ago said she can tell the difference in my cards since I started to do the challenges. So they are very productive for me.
I love them they help me with ideas in what colors look good. I just can't upload my pic's at this time. Need a scaner and the camara I have does not work the best. As soon as I get things fixed I will be up loading a lot!!

I love them. They give me just enough of a start to be motivated and not have to totally start from scratch. I also like the challenge itself of trying to come up with something a bit creative or one that combines multiple challenges. I really enjoy them and would be stamping far less without the inspiration they provide. The Technique challenge has also made me 'step outside my box' and try some new things that otherwise, I just wouldn't have got around to.
Thanks to all those who create them each week. I really appreciate it.
I'm in on the Christmas challenge, but I haven't done my April or May cards yet. I was more concerned with getting everything ready for my DS's First Communion on Mother's Day ... good mommy, bad stamper ;)
Hi Jami - How are you? I would love to do even one challenge too! But like everyone else, life definitely is always hectic and I honestly don't have the time right now. I barely have time now to check out SCS occasionally and make cards as I need them. There was a while, when I went a few weeks without even logging on to the computer at night after work! :( My scrapbooks are so neglected. Hopefully the hecticness will ease soon (the ebb and flow of life, right?!) and then I'll have more time to at least sit down and try to attempt one. I hope that you have been doing great! ~Maria
For everyone who has said they don't have time for challenges - I totally understand!!! Until this week I hadn't particpated in weeks (except hosting Fridays). A suggestion...when you need a card for something - a birthday, get well or whatever - take a quick look at the challenges for the week and pick one as inspiration for the card you need. I've found myself so much more creative when participating in challenges. Many people have been saying that they feel their stamping has improved.
And it really is a great way to make SCS friends too!
Another thing is my DH knows the days I participate in what challenges. When he gets home on those days he always asks what the challenge was and what I came up with? My kids love them too!

I love the weekly challenges, especially trying to combine the different challenges of the week into one card -- I just haven't been able to do much stamping the last few weeks since double-injuring my elbow. I'm experiencing some serious withdrawal, but noting each challenge and my ideas for them for when I can really go at it.
