Patty, thank you for checking out my cards and for the lovely comment.
I appreciate it.
You're very welcome I've been trying to leave more and more comments in the gallery. I receive comments, but I don't always have the time to do so myself, especially with the baby and she's teething right now and not sleeping very well.
This thread has been great! I'm loving all of these wonderful ideas! I recently uploaded some quick and easy Christmas cards into my gallery, but I wanted to show the Lovely as a Tree card that I just made.
Here's my first attempt at making a card like Wendy's and Nancy's:
What a gorgeous card!! I LOVE this one!! It looks like it would be easy enough to make lots of these.........SO classy! TFS!
Thank you so much, yeah I was pleasantly surprised at how quick and easy this card was to make. I just finished making 6 more for my brother in law to use (I still have to make him some more).
I wasn’t very happy with my Lovely as a Tree card because I should have used brown ink for the sentiment instead of the black, so I made my card over again. If you wanted to see my new card I have it posted here:
I just got to thinking that I should have posted my Christmas card from this past year. I needed to make a real easy card this past Christmas, because I was 8 months pregnant and totally exhausted. This is what I came up with (If you have a Cricut, this card is super easy):

This is GORGEOUS! Thanks for sharing it, I really REALLY like this one! So simple, elegant and perfect for Christmas!
Thanks! I'm glad you liked it. To make it even quicker I guess you could leave off the paper piercing. While I was making those cards my daughter was helping me and then she broke my paper piercing tool and I had to run all the way back to Michael’s to pick up another one.

Thank you My brother in law wants me to make some of these for him to use for his Christmas cards this year. I made him some, but I don't have a whole lot of Old Olive paper. I wonder how it would look if I used some blue paper and blue ink? I might have to try that as soon as I have some time. My sister is visiting with me right now so I won't have much time to stamp until she goes home on Wednesday.

I think that would look gorgeous in blue! I can visualize night of navy, not quite navy, or I bet bashful blue would look awesome! I'd probably make a variety of colors, I'm sure he'll like them all

I think that it would look really nice. I have another card in my gallery that uses the big tree from Lovely as a Tree, and the whole card is done in greens. On my blog (sometime in July I think) you'll see the same card done in blues & white with glitter added. It was my Convention swap card (even though I didn't go to Convention!) and was well received.
I'm still plugging away at my cards. All 2000 have been sponged and stamped, and I've begun the glittering process. I'm also printing the sentiments on the insides of the cards so that I can start assembling them soon. I shocked one of my fellow stampers last week when I told her that I could stamp 1000 trees in 3 hours. The sentiments on the front were even faster - 1000 in half that time. You get in a groove, and just go!

Leaving the piercing off would make it faster, but I like the effect on your card. As long as you're not making TOO many, it would be okay.
Hint for you all... if you don't have a piercing tool, use a thumbtack!

Oh I love the thumbtack idea! My paper piercer is one size but the thumbtacks that I have start out narrower at the tip and get a little wider the deeper you poke it! If you can do it consistantly, it would be neat to made different size holes in a pattern. Thanks for the ideas!
