By the way, what type of adhesive do you use? What is the fastest and stays tight? I have tried many things and I am having trouble with the paper coming unstuck! When you do that many, you must have a wonderful way to attach the paper to the card. Please let me know! Thanks.
I'd love to see the cards that you made with your Cuttlebug Right now I'm working on some Cuttlebug Christmas cards, but I didn't have a chance to put them in my gallery just yet. I'll work on that today
You know, I hated that card so much I don't think I even blogged it and I blog EVERYTHING I make the good, the bad and the downright what the heck was I thinking
Oh, that is a beautiful card! I wouldn't have thought to use that color, great idea!
Thank you so much for the kind words! I experimented and found that the darker the cardstock, the better the liquid applique showed up! You should see them in Navy or Hunter - even dark purple! I did one in metallic copper that was probably my favorite!

Wendy, I think your card is beautiful, but it sure seems like a lot of work to do 2000 of them. It doesn't look simple!
You're right - it's not as simple as I would have liked it to be. It's masked and sponged, and then stamped three different times (four if you include the glitter). The price that I'm charging though takes all of this into account. The good thing though is that it's only one layer, so I didn't have to cut a lot of paper to get to this point.

It's okay, I was asking because I'm looking for some new ideas for using my Cuttlebug folders. I love using my Cuttlebug for embossing because I think it makes really nice cards. I've been super busy today, so I still didn't have time to upload the cards that I made. I made 4 different ones. I'll have to let you know once I get them posted
Thanks to you guys I have now cut and designed 40 cards this am. They still need to be put together, but hey for the most part they are ready. How great is that??? You guys rock!!! Thanks so much for the inspiration.

Don't forget to show us your cards after you finish making them! If I was of any help, it was totally my pleasure

Yes, it is called Winter House and here's a link to show you what it looks like. I didn't buy it here, it's just a link to show you
Carol - because I LOVE your card, I've asked for some winter house images over on the WISH RAK thread; however, I asked for white. Didn't read the part about dark looking better; oh well, if I get some images, I was thinking about just using white w/gold stickles for snow.
Please tell me, how do you price your cards. 10 for ? vs 2000 for ?
Thank you.
You really have to break it down into time and materials. More elaborate cards will cost more than something really simple. Make sure that you add ALL elements in - including envelopes, adhesive etc. For the 2000 cards it's costing me about $1500 (CDN) for all of the materials. I've then estimated the time that it will take me to put them all together, via assembly line. I'm keeping track of the time to see how close I come to my estimate.

Thanks! I was stamping last night, and I stamped the set of trees within the masked area on about 1000 times. One of my fellow stampers at the table asked if I was getting tired of the stamps yet - the answer is no, but I AM getting tired of Kiwi Kiss ink!

 I'm getting the feeling that Kiwi Kiss won't be part of your own Christmas cards this year.
I'm trying to wrap my mind around a Christmas Card list of 2,000. That's a lot of postage! Your cards are beautiful! Imagine a corporation sending out hand-made cards?

I did some research before I began, to try and determine how much it would cost a large company to have cards printed for them. I'm surprised at how much it is! I don't know what the company paid last year, but they did tell me that they would only have me make the cards if the quote was competitive, so I'm in the right ballpark. Fortunately these are all for their internal employees, so they don't have to pay postage!!
I'm about to send out my mid-month newsletter, with my classes in the next week, and then I'm off to stamp some more cards. All of them have been masked, and the large stand of trees have been stamped. I'm now on the big tree on the left hand side. I can stamp about 1000 images in 3 hours, so I figure that I've got about 10 hours of stamping left and then I can start gluing
I produce a high volume of cards all year long but I think that the most I have made of one design (AT A TIME) was 100. I have gone back to make another 100 of the same design but normally will make a different card. I have so many irons in the fire that I need to have over 3000 cards ready to go by 11/1 each year. This does not include all the ones for the troops...lol blessings.
Haven't had a chance yet to check out the others but I'm looking forward to it!!
I've done a few simpler ones -- if I have to make a lot, I really don't want them to be complicated. But a fun technique... I can do that many times and never tire of it .
Folk Snowman (may look more involved, but simple image, simple coloring, and the image is big enough to maintain focus without much more added - to reduce bulk for mailing, I'd change out the buttons ... small chipboard snowflake maybe)
LaLatty (Patty) ~ I love all the cards you listed!! Great ideas !
Thank you so much I've been checking this thread for some more Christmas cards that would be quick and easy to make. Right now I'm trying to make some for my brother and sister in law, but I'm not quite sure that I found the right card just yet. I was thinking about trying a card using the Lovely as a Tree stamp set, like the one Wendy made.
I'm off to check out the cards that you posted above
This thread has been great! I'm loving all of these wonderful ideas! I recently uploaded some quick and easy Christmas cards into my gallery, but I wanted to show the Lovely as a Tree card that I just made.
Here's my first attempt at making a card like Wendy's and Nancy's:
