LSC76 - 2*2*2

This challenge was inspired by Tilly. It's called 2-2-2. I made some slight changes to it to make it more challenging for the limited supplies idea!

2 - Choose 2 stamp sets (big background stamps and wheels are considered one choice) If you are not using sets, limit yourself to just 2 stamps or wheels.

2 - Choose 2 colors of ink

2 - Choose 2 accessories. This includes all embellishments, watercolor wonder crayons, pastels, punches, or any specialized tools. If you have 2 colors or kinds of ribbon, you used up your 2 choices!

Cardstock - Use as much as you want. Even newbies generally have a lot of that because they come in multi-packs.

Please put LSC76 in the keyword box when you upload!

If you are new to the challenges, please feel free to do this one or ANY of the challenges at any time. There is no time limit. They are not races to see who can do one first, nor are they contests of any sort. All the challenges are simply to provide inspiration and to get us stamping!

This looks like an interesting challenge - and I do mean challenge. Just 2 stamps and two ink colors?! Ok, I'll try.

loislane125 08-10-2006 07:51 PM

Sounds like fun but it will have to wait until morning. See you then.

judylb 08-10-2006 07:55 PM

Sounds like fun, Jen! To make sure I understand, we can use as many stamps in the set as we want but with only one other such as a background or wheel??

Jeanne S 08-10-2006 07:56 PM

I'll get on it after bowling tomorrow Jen :)

Angela R. 08-10-2006 07:58 PM

sounds cool!! thanks, jen!

Yes! You got it!

But don't forget, special sentiments and alphas are also a set. You may want to choose a set that already has a sentiment in it so you can use a BG or wheel.

studbo 08-10-2006 08:13 PM

Sounds like another super fun challenge Jen, I just may have to sleep on it.

rhondag 08-10-2006 08:29 PM

Wow!! So fun Jen (& Tilly)! This will be a fun challenge to combine with today's/the oval cutter too! (Ack only one ribbon or brad....hmmmmm)

Just got up to give lil one a bottle and I'm so happy to get to think about the challenge all night!

McStamper 08-10-2006 08:36 PM

Would printed paper be considered an embellishment? Or is this a no no?

Jen
Thank you for the challenge. I am ready to to make some cards.

Runamok 08-10-2006 09:39 PM

Yay! I love the limited supplies challenges because although I didn't realize it until I started doing these, I have limited supplies! This is one I can really get done! Thanks, Jen!

lacyquilter 08-10-2006 09:53 PM

Wow, Jen, you are really gonna make me think on this one. You know I can easily use 3 or 4 backgrounds on one card! Thanks for a great challenge. Off to bed now.

eliotstamps 08-10-2006 10:17 PM

I love an early challenge posting! Since I'm on the west coast, it means I get to play before bed. Of course it also means I'm tired when I make my card. I pulled out my two ink colors, then my paper and my sets. I made the card front and started stamping in white craft. I sort of forgot that white counts as an ink color! So in order to stick with the challenge rules, I mixed some white craft with ballet blue to get a lighter shade of blue as a second color of ink. Here's the card: http:////www.splitcoaststampers.com/...340297&cat=814

write2it 08-10-2006 10:17 PM

Been lurking on SCS for hours. Now, with this challenge posted, which is very cool Jen, I think I'll go to bed and dream of what I'll try! Thanks for the idea!

Runamok 08-10-2006 10:43 PM

WHew! Got it done! I am going to be out all day tomorrow and had to play tonight! Glad I did, I like this one! In RL, you can see that the black paper is really crinkled up.

mrikitty 08-10-2006 11:43 PM

I'll be getting to this later today also. Thanks Jen!!

jazzytobi 08-10-2006 11:55 PM

Well... the first card I did was a bust because my sewing maching (one of my embellishments) decided to eat my card.... AARRRRRRRGGGGGGHHHHHH...
anyway... i'm fine now... ha ha.

Here's my card. First time using crystal effects. i kinda like it!

Do embossing powder and heat gun count as two or (oh paleeesssee!) one embellishment?

Bagpuss 08-11-2006 05:02 AM

Well I didn't know it at the time, but I've made a card for this challenge! :) Thanks to PenelopePitstop for pointing it out to me! My card is here:

Fun challenge - I had to keep myself from breaking the rules several times...

jsbrooketrout 08-11-2006 05:31 AM

Oh darn! As soon as I uploaded this I realized that I used punches and that would be an accessory....right? Oh boy......sorry! (I also only though I could use 2 paper colors, so maybe that makes up for it)
Here it is anyway....Thanks for looking!

OOOOOO!!!!!!!!! I want to play!!!!! (but have to help DS make a card for his little friend....don't think that I'm going to get to play myself). I will try to see what lovely creations you all come up with!!

LodiChick 08-11-2006 05:53 AM

It wasn't as hard as I thought it would be, the limited ink was the toughest.

genie1314 08-11-2006 05:55 AM

ooooh fun!! can't wait to do this one, jen!!! thanks for coming up with great challenges!

So, I can go nuts on patterned paper, and different colors of paper, but can only use 2 inks...
but as an accessory I can use colored pencils or watercolor crayons? But I have to count that as 1 of my embellishments. So can I use as many of the colors in those pre-packaged sets as I want?

etlsmom 08-11-2006 06:18 AM

Here are mine that I pulled from my gallery...maybe I'll get a chance to make a new project today...but in case I don't...here are oldies but goodies!

Since you can't use EP without the other, I personally think it should count as one. :-D

Yes. The crayons or pencils are one accessory, but you can use as many as you want! :-D

don't want to beat a dead horse here...but would an aquapainter or a blender pen be the second accessory?
When I think of "two accessories" I think of the back of the catalog, and pick 2 items from there, excluding adhesive.

WAXYO 08-11-2006 06:49 AM

This one about got the best of me...every time I wanted to grab for another accessory or ink, I had to slap my hand :) Thanks for the great challenge!

Lisa Loiselle 08-11-2006 06:51 AM

THIS WAS HARD!! I forget how to make a simple card! Geesh! I was planning to use brads until I realized I'd already used markers to color, and I'd need a hole punch too so that would make 3 accessories. I had to improvise and use markers to color brads onto the hardware piece and the slit punch. Challenging challenge, Jen!
