There will be a Master Challenge Thread as well as individual chat threads/gallery for each challenge.

I have been able to get a peek behind the scenes and you are going to really like Fallidays challenges. The cards are going to some great organizations and you will be able to try some new techniques and use a variety of materials, most of which you probably have on hand. It's a time for stretching and growing and having fun.

Lydia, I'm confused about the final week. How you will choose randomly by using our time stamps from our answers to trivia questions... could you explain a little more, please. =) Thanks!
Ohaiiiiiii! Today I was thinking - we should really start a chatter thread! And here y'all were already.
I've been busy getting all these amazing Falliday Fest tutorials ready for you - I just got the last one in yesterday and I have a whooooooole mess of closed captioning to do, but I'm excited!

It's basically a "random number generator". Lydia might ask people to guess how many gallery entries there are in total, and she'll use the three closest answers.
Those people don't win, but let's say they posted at 1:24, 1:53, and 2:07.
Then Lydia would know her random numbers are 124, 153, and 207 (or however she reads it on her end), and that somehow allows her to pick entries from her master list (the "reports").
There are random number generators on the internet, like random.org , and you might see that on some blogs that use it for doing drawings. Lydia does it this way to keep us all interested. And they work out to be as random as anything because Lydia can't control who will get the right answers or when they post those answers, so it's totally out of her prize-awarding hands.
Making pumpkin muffins (posted on the recipe thread!) and made a double batch so I have goodies/treats in the freezer for the weeks I won't be as inclined to want to bake for some reason! ;) Also going to make some more pumpkin bread for the freezer (recipe also on recipe thread!). And for most of the meals I've been making lately, I've been doubling when I can and putting the second batch in the freezer! These are my Falliday crafting tips! ;) LOL!!
Do what does Dollar Tree carry on the list? We have a Dollar Store.

I need to do some advanced baking as well....the recipes on the site look yummy and I will have to do some converting to see if I can make them fit my diabetic life style (it is a new thing and still in the learning to eat correctly stage). I will also be stocking up on items for a craft fair held at my church first December weekend. So I think I will be able to stay out of trouble in October and December. ? for the group......would it be helpful to have computer access in my craft room during Falliday? or can running back and forth(upstairs and then down) work just as well?

You would get your exercise! That would help counteract any extra goodies you might eat. Well, maybe not totally with the Diabetes�I'm not making light of that in anyway�I had Gestational Diabetes�and I know exercise did wonders and I was able to control it with diet (no pumpkin bread!!) and exercise. I wish you well on your new eating journey�.it can be done! Thankfully there seems to be tons of lo carb recipes out there now with Paleo and other such diets!

I picked up larger (index card sized) sticky notes, battery operated tealights (a 2 pack), a small can of shaving cream, and a roll of plastic wrap. (I will likely be crafting away from home and don't want to worry about making sure the house's shaving cream or plastic wrap make it back!).
Oh. And a pack of napkins, but not holiday ones, some cute ones left over from summer. Because I will adapt. But if I make it to Tuesday Morning I might look for some holiday napkins, too. (The holiday ones at $Tree seemed a little blurry and I was getting dizzy just holding them. LOL.)

What I do is print out a spreadsheet (the tracking sheet we provide or one you make yourself - and I work off that.
Our mobile site works great for just chatting in the threads while you work - the chat is pretty much my favorite But you won't need a computer once you know what the challenge is unless you want to chat.
I have to share this card from a class I gave yesterday at a Senior's apartment complex where a friend of mine lives.
A lady signed up for the class and brought her husband along, it appears that he can't be left alone so he planned to just sit in his walkerseat and observe the class. I had enough supplies and encouraged him to do the class with us (it was free so no expense for his participation.)
He struggled with the concept of not having to roll the tape to make it stick, tried to get him to understand you just put it down like regular tape...he would still roll it!
Then he couldn't get the dimensionals pieces off the strips so I helped him with that but he could eventually get the top of the strip off and he could put the pieces onto one another, though always slightly off kilter, he said he liked that look!
Then I got the bandaids open for him so he could put them where he wanted on the card...THEN he smiled...he had great fun making the bandaids turn into happiness on his card! He likes to draw cartoon characters he said...so he did...
He enjoyed the class and I think his wife enjoyed it more having freedom to do her own cards.
I really enjoy working with people over 60...I do all the prep work, they have to color and tape...and then they smile at the satisfaction of what they can do...and I smile because a little paper and tape made someone's day!

Hello to all my HYCCT friends - and hello to those who will become friends through the challenges! I'm so looking forward to this. I have been absent from SCS for so long - life got in the way, in some hard ways but also in some great ways. I'm happy to have the opportunity to both reconnect & get my mojo back.
... how to eat for a diabetic meal plan...
Basically No GPS...no grains, no potatoes, no sugar...
Sugar continues to be my addiction.
I eat grain free. Best decision I ever made for myself. In the beginning it takes quite a bit of effort, but once you familiarize yourself with ingredient labels and safe options you'll feel better than ever. Expect several weeks of withdrawal symptoms, ie: headaches, lethargy, irritability etc.
If you haven't already, look into Danielle Walker's Against the Grain, The Whole30, Elana's Pantry & Diane Sanfilippo Practical Paleo (she also does the 21 day sugar detox - I've done it 3 times) for guidance, recipes, safe food lists etc. It will save you a lot of time and frustration.
