Good morning everyone!!!

The final three challenges are UP! Time for coffeeeeeee

http://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.spli...6080d6dbe2.gif

So now you can all relax and catch up for more than a week!

Wanted to remind you if you need inspiration during catch up week - that we have these two boards:

Host samples - all of our host samples in one place.

Host favorites - each host picks favorites from their challenges - these will be added to for a while as each host goes through their challenge galleries commenting during and after catch up week. Some real beauties here!

Just for fun last night I added some new post icons you may have noticed - SQUIRREL! :) He's for today's current challenges. An orange question mark for when you have a question and a painter's palette for creative ideas.

I have not mailed any of mine yet, I keep meaning to hunt down the thread with the Hospice one because, Teresa was going to check and see if they were ready for cards yet or if they were up to their ears in hurricane clean up.

FayeMakesCards 10-22-2016 05:44 AM

Don't know Betty Reece but we served her strawberries at our wedding almost 30 years ago! :p

Still living with one eye vision so not sure how well I will do on card making today but I would like to spend time cutting paper if nothing else...not sure I"m adapt enough to squit and adhere for straight lines...that's a struggle for me with 2 eyed vision!

Need to get ONE card made at least...I need a sympathy card for a family who were visiting in Texas and one of their children drowned last Sunday in Corpus Christi...they are from WI... :(

naturecoastcrafter 10-22-2016 01:54 PM

Does anybody else feel like they've been to boot camp? LOL!

peeps321 10-22-2016 02:03 PM

Yes Jean I feel like it's been boot camp but....in a good way..I've gotten so much done, especially holiday cards. Today I'm really pooped though cuz it's a beautiful day here (62) and I wanted to get some yard work done and also grill...might be the last time. And the IC challenge was such a good one I couldn't resist. I had to made a couple of those cute 3x3 cards.
As an aside...I have to say I think Ann (annsforte3) has to have made the most comments on cards...her fingers must be exhausted....every time I post a new card...I get a new comment from Ann. Bless you Ann..you are amazing!

peeps321 10-22-2016 02:05 PM

Oh I didn't want to discount all the other hostesses, etc....your comments mean the world and keep us all going ..thank you for all your efforts..I know how much work goes into this :)

Indeed! Wow. Thanks to all who have hosted and organized, and thanks to all who have faithfully commented. Especially Ann!

Celebrate: I just uploaded the last of my challenge projects/cards. I'll wait for the yeti thread, because I want to finish and upload all (not just five) (I'm not OCD. I'm not OCD. I'm not OCD.) of the tutes. Two more to do.

I'm not OCD.

I've mailed only one for each of the card drives. The rest of my ff cards, if I don't use them personally, go to meet a local need: Our hospital's auxiliary sells them as a fundraiser. Their last purchase was a vein finder device for starting difficult IV's.

Of course, the sale of my cards are not their only revenue source...

I'm hoping next year's ff card drives include a west coast destination.

muscrat 10-22-2016 03:45 PM

So excited! I'm done! Challenges and tutorials!

luvtostampstampstamp 10-22-2016 04:02 PM

I haven't done much for the drives yet. My ambition is to get each challenge done plus 5 of the tutorials and then focus on the drives. Otherwise I might not get done in time!!! Is that OK?

luvtostampstampstamp 10-22-2016 04:02 PM

And I may not get 10 cards for each drive done. Is that ok? How many are being sent in general?

annsforte3 10-22-2016 04:17 PM

I mailed mine out two days ago and did so far two for each card drive!

Will try to get additional done this next week!

I am guessing if you have already shot a photograph of your candy cake and uploaded it to its proper tutorial gallery than your mama is good to go with eating the chocolates ( enjoy ) :)

at this point I think I have one for each of the 4 places but, I know I can do more and since the gallery is open for another week or so. I figured once I get one for everyone done then I will get a few more done and go through my stash to bump up what I send them.

mamaxsix 10-22-2016 04:53 PM

My son is making the browned butter chocolate chip cookies from Lydia's blog and it is smelling amazing around here!I'm happy for all who're reaching the end point already. I've had to put people before paper. Made two pots of soup tonight and DS is making cookies and possibly some bars. My Dad's coming tomorrow and he and I will travel to a nearby town where a first cousin of my mom's and his wife are in the country from their missionary post in Japan to be with their hospitalized adult DD. She is coming out of a coma after a freak car accident in which she was a passenger when a loose Clydesdale horse was hit crushing the passenger side of the car. The rest of the soup goes to a lady at our church who recently had a hip replaced. Always so much going on in life.

this Fest has been a lot of fun and learning for me. I too am hoping to make some additional cards for the 4 drives and will mail them end of the week. I did my first tutorial today (the shaker envelope one) due to needing to get it done as our only granddaughter turns 12 this next week and they were driving in from 2 hours away to visit a bit today. I used the strong sticky tape method for dividing the pocket and it worked well. Our granddaughter is a sheep showman in 4-H so I filled the pockets with stamped images of sheep ( yes I have a sheep stamp), beads, punched 4 leaf clovers, and foil fall color leaves. I did remember to have the sheep images facing out the correct way when the envelope was folded together and finished it off with green and white polka dot ribbon because it was 4-H themed. I will post a picture tomorrow I am just too tired today. LOL! My goal is to finish all the card challenges and tutorials but we will see how catchup/makeup week goes...It sure was fun doing this though. Thanks to whoever thought it up, those who wrote up the challenges and those who made samples for us to see. And thanks to those who have taken time to comment on postings....it means a bunch.

Yes, indeed! You can find a link to it at this post by Lydia. I downloaded a copy to my computer, and have been updating that with the new challenges daily. I also created a second worksheet to track tutorials. (Yes, I'm a bit nerdy that way! LOL) Hoping that will help if I get to finish all the requirements on time to "apply" for YETI status! :)

Sounds like a neat project! Hope I can find it to have a look when you get a chance to post it. :)

muscrat 10-22-2016 07:10 PM

I haven't seen a master tracking sheet for tutorials. Only the one for the challenges.

cindy_canada 10-22-2016 09:26 PM

I just wanted to congratulate everyone that was involved in the organization of the Falliday Fest challenges. I think it has been one of the most enjoyable challenge event I've ever taken part of. Everything was inspiring and I liked how the challenges were generic enough to let me work on almost anything I wanted to concentrate on. I didn't feel restricted and did not work on anything I was not in the mood to do, and frankly. I kept believe that I managed to keep up with all of the challenges even though I was working. I'm down to three challenges to finish (those that were posted today) and I'll be done! And I'm so happy with the resulting projects (again, not always the case when I'm doing a stamping blitz).

You guys really worked some magic this week. I wanted to thank you for your time and efforts and most of all, for all of the lovely comments left in everyone's galleries! I'm sure there was a lot of hours involved. Please know that your work has been and still is very much appreciated. :D

Big hugs!

vdoyle8 10-22-2016 09:31 PM

I'm thrilled that I got three challenges done. At least I did that much! I'm hoping to get the card drive cards done but I'm heading out of town to help a friend who is battling breast cancer. Just like Gail said above, there is always so much going on in life. This was so fun - thanks to all who organized and hosted challenges!

susie australia 10-22-2016 10:54 PM

Miss Ann (annsforte3) and Miss Lisa (Shoe Girl) and all the other hostesses who gave their time to comment and encourage others are what make Splitcoaststamperville the happiest place to be. There are hundreds and hundreds of wonderful cards in the Falliday gallery!!!

germanstampler 10-22-2016 11:18 PM

I can not believe the Falliday Fest is already over ! Where has the time gone ?

What I found very good in contrast to HYCCT is, that we were able to make a stock of cards for us. Between a card for a good cause (card drive) - that is great. I have many Christmas cards right know - thanks for that !!!!
I still need to make the last 3 challenge cards and my 5th tutorial. Then I am also ready for the Yeti status :D

I also like these daily challenges very much, because I get out of my comfort zone ;). I get to know new techniques, themes and do things I would not do otherwise.

A big praise and thanks to all the organizers, hostess and participants, who are always so nice to comment on the Gallery. You are the BEST !!!

Reading all of your posts, I am sad I didn't get to take part more, but by the time we got home from our trip, it was half over. I am trying to do some of the challenges , though. I have done one challenge and two tutorials, so far. I plan to do as many as I can in catch up week. Your cards rock! All of the participants and hostesses have done a outstanding job!
SCS always has such great events for us!

Sorry, I didn't read the question right. No, there is not a tracking sheet for the tutorials, only the challenges.

Done! All the challenges and all the tutorials. Done. Photographed. Edited. Uploaded. Now, time to clean up all the debris...

BTW, the favorites thread for this past week is open and waiting for your lists. Hint. Hint.

I felt a little lost this morning, not having a new challenge for Falliday Fest. It went by so quickly!! Thanks to Lydia, coordinator extraordinaire, and to all of the wonderful challenge hosts that made this so much fun. I can imagine that it was a lot to plan and carry off, you all did a remarkable job. Very much appreciated! Hugs,
Joanne

I have loved every minute of this challenge. For once I feel that I have a jump on my Christmas cards. Each challenge was unique and so much fun. No I need to get busy and finish up posting all of mine.

Thanks to all involved.
