I only gesso the page I am working on, but you probably never want to do what I do because I am a messy, messy crafter! Don't ever by stocks that I buy either - they never work out! lol.

When I'm more alert I will see about editing the gallery post.
Nancy, my first thought was...before i ever invest I need to understand investments...considering the time it takes me to understand something I'm certain the stocks will have gone up or down like a roller coaster and I hate roller coasters...I best find someone I trust to help me help myself...
We could have a great conversation while waiting in line because whatever line I get in is always slow also...I do tell myself that when I do get to the first spot I know the person will give me all the time I need also...
And...I try to find the positive in the wait...I want to believe we are all doing the best we can (sometimes some people cause me to not believe this!)

I think someone moved my card! Yeah...thank you whoever is a moderator that did that...well, I think someone moved the card.
I went to edit the photo and the category says its in Bible Art Journal...
Next when I am surfing without a timeline in my day I am going to see what I can find in the Bible Art Journal area...I'm getting shivers of excitement growing inside me...

It is so good to see such conversation happening in this thread! I love it!!! We are usually so very very quiet!
Faye and Nancy, your pages are AWESOME! They take us right to the Scripture verses... I love that!
Faye, as I mentioned earlier, I don't use gesso, but instead prep with acrylic paint. That being said, I do use it on the backside of the page, too, if what I am going to put on that page would be something that would bleed through, just as a safeguard. I think it probably wouldn't, but I don't want to take that chance.
Lois, I am pretty sure it would take me more than 3 months to do that many Bibles. Can I ask... is your DH doing okay now?
Ky, I am the same way... I've been busy, but not in BAJ'ing. I am looking forward to an opportunity soon.
Which leads me to... Julie, I love the theme for August!
I had a safe trip and a good visit with my parents and with my sister. Home for a wee bit... we three leave early Monday morning and will be gone until late Tuesday night. Go go GO is my story for the next couple of weeks. LOL!
I did gesso the back page last week, it should be dry enough now to use right? :p
I will see if my husband has cream in his stash of paint...I think he bought a set of 20+ colors when he made some wooden animals for our first granddaughter! :p

Faye, I try to go with God... thanks for the reminder. I'm looking forward to seeing your pages... you're making progress.
I'm back, for a couple of days. It was a good meeting and we all three had fun. I leave for trip #3 on Friday morning (just me, the guys stay home for this one). LOL! Go, Jeanette, go. See Jeanette go. (I could have been one of those primers of generations ago.)

Thanks for asking about DH. He had been doing much better but over the last few weeks has regressed. He's falling a lot again and needs a lot of attention to physical needs. I'm worn out and SO ready to retire (scheduled for the end of this year).

Lois, I'm sorry your DH is not doing well. I am praying for both of you! Take care of yourself, too... so often the caregiver's health suffers, too, from the workload. I am sure you are counting the days to retirement. (((HUGS)))

I think the worst part is seeing all the stuff around the house that should be done but I don't have the strength, the energy, or the time to do it. It's difficult to accept those things as they are and keep going so there's strength and energy and time to do the imperative things. It's not how I was taught to run a household, for sure!
Thanks for your prayers. Prayer support is vital!

Lois, (((Hugs))) and prayers... you are investing in what's important!
I'll be leaving shortly for our state's Women's Advisory Team Retreat and then meetings, meetings, and more meetings (I am a Board officer of our state denomination, so I have the privilege of attending ALL of the meetings) on Monday and Tuesday. I won't be home again until Tuesday night.

Welcome!! You can view the Bible Art Journaling in the gallery- go to the gallery and under Search type in BAJ or Bible Art Journaling. I have provided the links for you as well :-)
The galleries are based on the keywords entered when you upload your project. Some people enter BAJ and Bible Art Journaling, some people only enter BAJ, etc. Technically all of the pages are in the same gallery, just the search word is what will allow you to find them.
Does anyone know of a rubber stamp with the reference Matt. 1:21...I have been asked to make some invitations for the church Ladies Tea and I would like to use the scripture passage on the front (they might prefer it inside but I would prefer it outside and I'm designing it...)

You could always computer generate it and use a cross or a Jesus stamp behind it - a nativity Jesus would be great.

Hello Bible Journalers...
It's been a loooooong time since the last time I visited...
In the last several months, there were many things had happened in our family.
But I am thankful for God's faithfulness in our lives.
In May I had a major surgery and took a while to recover.
We had busy and fruitful Summer.. thankful for opportunities to serve at couple Youth Camps this Summer.
In July, my doctor diagnosed me having tendonitis on my left elbow and carpel tunnel came back on my right hand. I have to wear braces for 2 months!!! With these braces, limit me to make things.
And recently, last week, I fell and hurt my left foot. I thought I was fine, but the pain was so bad... my husband took me to urgent care and came home with crutches. Doctor told me that I bruised my foot really bad and I cannot put weight on it for couple weeks!!!
In all that... I am thankful... I can have total rest, and just rest... this is a moment I am learning to be patient with myself and others, too.
I hope to come back to create things in a couple of weeks
Please do pray for my healing and patient...

Wow, can you believe that the summer is technically over? Well, at least in this area, when school starts, summer is over... I love Autumn though, so I am looking forward to the change in colors and a bit cooler weather :-)
We are still working on getting our small home ready for sale- can I say that we are so slow...getting older has definitely slowed us down plus between all of the doctor appointments, etc. I do appreciate your prayers- we are praying for the right buyer and several neighbors have expressed interest. We are hoping to sell to someone who wants to stay in the neighborhood and appreciates our wonderful neighbors! I am also working on organizing my craft/art room and moving some of the items to our weekend home (long story but we own three homes at this point and do not rent out any...) so I still have not had a chance to do any BAJ- soon, I hope! My journaling Bibles need some love :-)
On to the theme- for September, the theme will be the Names of Christ.
I love all of the different Names for Christ- there are so many and I know that several stamp companies have stamps with this theme as well.
Some of the Names of Christ that came to me were: Almighty One, Alpha and Omega, Bread of Life, I AM, Chief Cornerstone, Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace, King of Kings, Lamb of God and I know that there are so many more!!
Hugs and have fun journaling this month. I will be praying that you have a spectacular September!!
Here is a card I made last year for a Ladies Tea invitation...it isn't Bible Art Journal-ed but thought I would share...the stamp set was a RAK to me from muscrat as I was looking for stamps with the names of God and she had seen it the day before at her thrift store!
God's gifts are fabulous through other believers.

Hi ladies! I have been very busy but not very present here at SCS lately. It seems like my intents to slow down just bring more busy challenges to my life. I am sure it's just a test, but I need to learn how to treasure my down time. Here's a link to my "Lion of Judah" page for the September theme of the Names for Jesus.

Wow, these look great and perfect for our September theme!! What a fabulous gift- hugs!
I made my BAJ page - Names of Christ theme - yesterday... but you have to wait until Wednesday to see it, as that is when it will be on my blog and I'll load it to the gallery.
I didn't want to cover up the scripture so I used parchment paper to make a tip-in. It really looks better than the picture... it's so difficult for me to get a good picture of tip-ins.
Ladies, thank you so much for your kind thoughts... I am still in healing process and will see my bone doctor today for the third follow up. We hope to hear good news from the x-ray today.
I uploaded couple of older pages I did last months. Here they are:
Here is a BAJ page I did, thinking our theme was Peace! Oh, well, just means I should do another, right?
Here is Peace Promise.
It is not so much art as journaling. But I am trying. I experimented with gelatos, and not that happy, I think the pencils work just as well. Learning....
