I hope I can keep up this year. I just did a count for 2015 and I was only short 10 cards so I guess I will be getting up early Saturday and doing 10 cards and envelopes for mailing so DH can take them to the PO. In addition to also trying to do VSN. LOL! I hope I can incorporate a VSN challenge or two with Christmas. Giggles!!!!
Hey Lisa,
Glad you will be joining us in 2016!! How many cards may I put you down for each month?
Hi Anne, I finished over 150 cards for 2015. I keep trying to cut down my list but with two large families and tennis friends and church friends and friends that like to buy, I end up making probably 300 Christmas cards.
I've decided that I will start making 2016's while at Chemo for Jan,Feb,March.
Put me down for 20 per month. Don't know if I'll finish so I'll worry about it tomorrow.
I have already started mine for 2016! Don't want to wait and get bogged down come Oct through November, especially with the Hope You Can Cling To event!
You mentioned at chemo? Are you going through chemo, or is it a loved one that you are transporting?
Okay, I've been a lurker on SCS off and on for several years, now it's time to play! I only need 15 cards, but I want to make some to donate to soldiers on deployment (If anyone knows how I go about this that would be helpful, otherwise I'm sure I will figure it out.), so my goal will be 10 each month.
Okay, so I've been a lurker on SCS off and on for several years, but I want to try this challenge! I only need 15 cards, but I want to make some to send to soldiers on deployment, so my goal will be 10 a month.
***If anyone knows how I go about sending soldiers blank cards to send home please let me know, otherwise I'm sure I will find the info somewhere.

Welcome enneirda!
So glad you are joining us! We really are a fun group here on SCS!!
Will put you done for 10 cards a month!!
Vikkijo, I've enjoyed your leadership for a long time. It was YOU that got me going on this challenge path. Thank you.
Ann, you are the energezier bunny! I see your name all over the challenges. So glad you'll be our new fearless leader. I love making Christmas cards and even though I don't finish on time, I always get the first few months in when I'm supposed to. It's that middle part that bogs me down! Welcome to this place of honor.
Please count me in for 10 per month. (The math is easy this way!) I've never followed the monthly challenges--does that make me a bad girl? I tend to do what I like.

Hi Susie,
Welcome, and thank you for the wonderful comment!
Count me in, especially since I'm still working on the cards for this year. I'm committing to 5 per month.

I am starting for the year of 2016. I need to make approx 13-14 cards per month! Yikes - what have I gotten myself into? Giggles!

Thank you Vikki Jo and thank you Ann. This has really helped me the last few years so I am in again. I don't always get them done in the right month or always keep to the theme but the "push" is there. I aim to do at least 12 each month. Happy Christmas all.

Just want to tell you what I am learning as I am addressing my hand made Christmas cards and putting them in the mail this year.
1. Note to self: In 2016, make them so they can be mailed for simple rate! I just got back from post office and had to pay extra postage on most of them, because they said they wouldn't go thru the roller without bending.
2. When you make them all different, it is difficult to decide who gets which one! LOL
Do any of you have that problem? I used to make them all the same! How boring.
Sharon, I make mine alike according to group. All of my business assoc. get elegant style, my SMMR group get the same style, though each is a bit different, same with PBR, S2S, Family, etc. The ones who are not in my 'crafty circle' or business, get cards made from store bought cardstock and are less involved because I know they will be tossed at the end of the season.
As to those 'bulky' cards, you can get excellent results with 'less-bulky' embellishments and if you use a piece of thin chip board (think cereal box weight) inside the envelope on the card front, this evens out the envelope. As long as they will go through the slot, 'bending' isn't an issue

Okay... I had all but the last sentence of my post typed and my cursor jumped, the window processed and I lost my post. The jumping cursor is my only complaint with this new Toshiba laptop.
Anywhooooo
Guess what I'm doing today. Yep! I'm making my 2015 Christmas cards. I've paired down, all of my business assoc. will get e-cards as most will be out of the office after Wednesday. But other than that, the rest will get made today... or not. Whatever isn't made by bed time will get a quick email of apology... or a New Years Blessing card.
I've wrapped the granddaughters' packages. They are ready to mail. I just need to ice their cookies and pop them in their little suitcase tins. Then that box is done. Package of box of cookies for my daughter's workplace and the big things are done. Tomorrow I'm also delivering the cookie boxes to local businesses.
this is SO not going to be my holiday next year. (says with fingers crossed behind her back )

Ann, do you think next year we should set up a thread for December since lots of us are still posting cards? I just keep adding to November but it might be nice to have a December thread - we wouldn't need a theme - just "anything goes for last minute cards" or something like that?

I will NOT wait until the last minute!
I mailed 65 Christmas cards yesterday. Because I waited until the last minute, I used K & Co Embellishments that had a pop dot on the back of each. That SINGLE pop dot was enough to cost me an extra .22 cents.
yep... no pop dots next year. And if I do have a bit of bumpy, at least I'll have enough time to put a piece of cardstock in the envelope to smooth out the playing field ;-)

I've totally used up my Christmas card stash. I like to be able to mail by Thanksgiving ( some are Intl) so I'm going with 7/mo, usually need about 70 to send out.

I finally mailed my Christmas cards today. Note to self: do not put thick embellishments on mail out cards anymore...unless I WANT to pay double for the shipping. I spent a small fortune today!

I wish I had a for every time I've said I will make CAS cards to save on postage and then forgotten again intil the next time!
Great idea about buying the stamps per month, we can't do that over here as most of our mail goes abroad and has to be weighed!
Taking my stamping in a new direction for next year, so not sure what I will do about Christmas cards, but suspect my love of making them will have me sticking with making them for friends and family again next year. So let's say 6 a month and see how that goes.
Thanks so much, Ann, for taking this challenge over. And thanks to Vicki Jo for keeping us motivated and on track these last many years. You ladies are the best!
I would like to join this group, I always say I'm going to make cards and tags and finish in time for Christmas. What a joke, this year, I was sending out cards yesterday and today. I will commit to at least 6 cards a month. I like the idea of themes, even though I have some ideas of my own.

Welcome, Ruby! This challenge has really helped me the last few years. And don't worry, the themes are optional - we're happy to see all Christmas cards you make!
