What is the blog so popular right now. It looks like it is the in thing. Are people doing blogs instead of websites. What is the difference between typepad and blogspot besides one is free and the other one you pay for. How much is typepad?

Blogging is fun!!! Secondly it allows me to stay in touch with my customers and gives me a place to share all the information once again that I am giving my students in the classes I teach. It gives me a spot to list where I am teaching and what I'll be teaching (this is yet to be added). It is even giving me a place to set up a band-aid shop until my website gets designed.
I selected Typepad over Blogspot only because I loved the features they offered. It can do so much more for my business then the SU website ever could do. You would still be able to link your customers to all the specials, you can talk about anything and everything and update it easily, you can list the classes you are offering AND you can have a HUGE gallery!!! Not just a few pages.
It is an amazing tool for your business and it is FUN!!! I hope this helps with that age old question - do I do it? or not?
OK... I'm on board! There's nothing in there yet, but I will be going to the Bay Area Rubber Rendezvous tomorrow, so I'm sure I'll have PLENTY to say when I get back Sunday afternoon!

Thanks Lisa! When I started blogging 3 1/2 years ago I never imagined blogging would take off like it did!

For 3 1/2 years, I've used my blog as a tool for my customers to go to and catch up on stamping stuff I'm doing.
For awhile I used it to announce upcoming classes and events on my blog. I kind of stopped doing that now that I'm doing alot of events and it sometimes slips my mind to post it. But I need to descipline myself to do that again because it was always real handy for my customers, especially the customers that live further away from me and don't come to every class - only the ones that interest them. My goal in the next year is to post more of that kind of stuff.
A blog can be used as a customer resource diary, a portfolio of your artwork, a website for putting your favorite links so they are handy, or a place to put comments and post family stuff. Whatever you want. Some families use blogs to keep in touch with each other when they are overseas. Blog on, ladies! Keep posting, bloggie chickies!
Does anyone know how to add "music" to your blog at our new blog site that we have now?? I saw something about it -- but it went over my head on how to do it. If you want to pm me or even email me to explain, I would appreciate it -- - or post it here for all to read!!
OK I bit the bullet and got a Blog also a few days ago.. Not sure how long I will keep it But it is fun.. Please add mine also .. I am still trying to learn how to add links in my posting and also change things up a bit .. Nothing as fancy as most of yours here listed .. But its a start .. I was thinking I really dont know what I can offer to have a blog for my customers .. When I do a monthly newsletter and such already ..But Like others have posted maybe just my Stamping thoughts & tips will be enough who knows?? gonna try it for a bit I guess ;)

Yes Papermoon this site is FREE its pretty easy to sign up Its just getting around and figuring out how to add links, and such takes a bit of time .. But I thinks thats the fun of it .. here is the site to get started http://www.blogger.com/start

I'm having so much fun with my new blog! And I started a Featured Stamper upload on Sundays. My first featured stamper was TayloredExpressions! This Sunday's Featured Stamper has already been contacted and she has agreed to let me post a card! I love showing off other people's work besides just my own! Fun!
