Hello ladies!
we are having a nice cool few days this week- 80 degrees and it is perfect! (25 C) It will get hot and very humid again this weekend, so I think I will plan on stamping away...LOL as long as my back lets me! DTGD begins this week, so working on samples. I usually do finish all of the card challenges, but not sure how that will go this time around!
We were babysitting the granddog for 10 days, he left yesterday- he really followed Ray around, so I did not really do much for him except throw the ball outside and take walks in the evenings. He even followed Ray to the bathroom. He is 75-80 lbs, so I could not walk him...he pulls alot.
Stove is here and working! Yeah! My SIL is still in the US and working on her plan of care for her recurrance of duodenal cancer- she did not need chemo the first time, but will have 6 months of chemo then surgery- which will put her at Feb. She is trying to arrange it in Mexico where she lives, as she only has Medicare here- no supplement.
We are starting to get monarchs here- I brought in 8 eggs and got one caterpillar..... so will only bring in caterpillars now..... We planted way more milkweed this year. Wish us luck!
Jeanette- staying home and stamping does not sound like a bad thing! Hoping your hubby has a good trip and is careful too!
Kelly- fun to be so close to Disney! It would be so magical to see it often with a little one- we only were there a couple of times, and you strive to make the most of it while you are there! Hope the rain stops so you can get back on that bike! And, yeah for 2 Snoopy stamps : )
Susan- waving hello and hoping you are having great weather and beautiful sunsets!
Shelly, it's so good to see you! YAY for the new WORKING stove! So... what was the first thing you cooked on it? I think it is so sweet that the granddog follows Ray around. They must be quite the pair.
Waving to Lynn, Kelly, and Susan... and sending lots of wishes for a fabulous day!
Shelly, best of luck with your butterflies! I have noticed that we have not had nearly as many as usual this year. Maybe it's the rain or maybe the cold winter we had. I don't know, but I sure am missing them! I will continue to pray for your SIL during this difficult battle with cancer. Yea for having a working stove AND a 90 pound dog in the house!!
Jeanette, I am so happy to be over the hump this Wednesday. Now on to the fun part of my week. On the agenda for today is stamping "for fun" and birthday gift shopping and wrapping! I found a great pair of shoes for my son yesterday in his size and one of his favorite brands. Can't wait for my weekend trip!
Kelly, I am sure you are busy getting ready for your upcoming trip, too!! Hope you all have a blast!! I know you will!
Susan, I hope you are finding peace and relaxation on the lake shore!!
Well bet your surprised to see me at this hour. That is if it goes through. I've read all the posts I think. So I'm pretty sure I'm all caught up. Coming home tomorrow so get ready!!!!!! MISS BLABBER MOUTH IS RETURNING!!
Yahoo! Susan is coming home with some awesome and entertaining stories to share!! Can't wait!!
I always need a hug, Jeanette! Thank you for getting the morning started off right.
I've been up early (4:30) and got busy cutting SVG shapes for the new stamps that will be arriving in a few days. Next step is to prepare the storage boxes. Then when the stamps get here, I can rip the packages open and get to stamping.
Must leave at 8:30 to get Dad to his doctor's appointment and to the museum. I have a hair cut after lunch! I'm beginning to look like a shaggy dog!!
That Northern Lights card was AWESOME, Shelly!! Loved that delicate beauty!
Kelly, I got a huge chuckle out of your beer card this morning!!
BD packages are wrapped, cards made, so the rest of the day can be spent with my sister having crafty fun before I leave early in the morning for San Felipe. Hope she gets here soon!!
I scored the Tim Holtz Glass Media Mat at HL yesterday for 40% off. I am busy cleaning my desk so it will fit! When I took it up to the checkout, it had no price tag. I told the lady that Tim Holtz was on sale this week so I didn't care what it cost, I was getting it!! LOL!. Ended up getting it for $26 and change!
Waving hello and wishing you a great start to your weekend! We are driving 'up north' to see our daughter and attend her graduation tonight with her Master's Degree - so very proud of her! She's 24 and cranked it out in under a year, defended her thesis and did it.
And then we're headed off with a much needed vacation! (not Disney, lol, that's next month)
How awesome to be able to celebrate this sensational achievement with your daughter and family, Kelly. I know how proud you must be!! Safe travels.
Good morning, Jeanette! Can't stay and chat. I must shower, dress, and load up the car with all my birthday gifts. It's time to hit the road and celebrate!
HELLO HELLO HELLO!!!!! I come back and Kelly hops off on vaca! Congrats to dd and enjoy your trip! Safe travels.
Oh my and it looks like Lynn left too to go PARTY!!! Birthdays are always fun! In fact we will be celebrating Claire Bears 5th on Monday! OMG 5!!!! Cannot believe it! Monday will be our little family birthday dinner that she gets to choose. Can't wait to hear what I'll be cooking. Then next Saturday will be the regular party with just a few family members and 2 close family friend who we know are vaccinated.
Shelly hope your SIL is finding all the info she needs and I will keep her in my prayers. So glad the new stove is working. I always love playing with new kitchen appliances. Its so wonderful that you invest so much time in helping the butterflies. I heard there is a decline in numbers this year. I know we lost alot of our milkweed up north due to the lake rising the last couple of years but this year the lake has gone down and it is amazing to see that some of the milkweed plants that have been underwater ( or I should say 4feet under lake) have actually reappeared on the beach again grew to full height and we had caterpillars on them! Pretty awesome!
Jeanette how's it going??? Is Brock excited about going back to work?
Well this week is suppose to be hot and humid, well too hot and humid for me, so I'm going to stay in and play with fancy folds. I also have some Door County cherries to turn into jam and when we were coming home we made a stop at a large farmer in Kenosha and bought a bunch of produce I need to blanch and freeze so I have stuff to keep me busy. We had some Patty Pan last night with dinner and it was delish. I should have bought more but oh well. Maybe I'll make a day drive to get some more. After all Kenosha is just a hop skip and a jump away! LOL
My day starts in 5 min....................... in 5 min 3 kids will run through the door as I start my 3 days of watching as mom (DIL) returns to work and school starts on thurs. Wish me luck!!!! Plus Its CLAIRE BEARS 5th Birthday!!! Dinner celebration tonight!! She is going to be a bouncing firecracker all day for sure! lol
Look who's back!! Welcome home, Susan!! When you check my blog today, you will see I have used and shared your fun tower card. I also added my version to one of the DTGD challenges this morning! Thanks for your ever-awesome inspiration!!
What will you be cooking for Claire's birthday dinner tonight? I know it will be yummy. What fun to have the kids back in the house as their mother returns to work!
Well well well Lynn...Great job on the fold and I'm glad I could help. lol Claires Dinner of choice (Tradition here I cook what they want on their day) is Chicken, carrots, corn, tator tots, and vanilla mermaid cake. Thank goodness for Amazon that I was able to find mermaid cake decorations with next day delivery. I'm sure DIL will be posting pics later today after dinner.
Kids are running all around the house today....stupid rain is keeping them inside and dh has retreated to the garage to hide and play with his guitar. TURD! Nick has been enjoying the noises so I guess it's a plus day for him so far lol.
Well gotta go supervise..................................
What a FUN fun getaway! Thanks for the love for my daughter - she's graduated! IT was a fun party and we are so proud of her - she did a 3 year degree in 10 months! But says THAT's IT! No more school! No Ph.D or nada - lol! Her boyfriend is an absolute doll and we wish them both good things - lord knows this is the kid that deserves it. She loves her new job - and they her - so maybe it's finally on the upswing!
Susan, welcome home! Glad you had a great time! And Happy BIrthday, Claire!
Lynn - we celebrated together! I hope yours was great!
My SIL tried his first case today - and WON! He was elated. Poor kid didnt sleep last night - and tomorrow (Tuesday) they are sending him to the other side of FLorida for another case. He'll be back Wednesday. He's moving on up!
Hello ladies!
Kelly, it sounds as though you had a wonderful weekend! Congrats to your DD and your SIL as well! Great milestones!
Lynn- hope your weekend away was a blast!
Susan- we have watched sweet Claire grow up from a toddler- cannot believe she is 5! Glad you were able to get Mermaid stuff!
Jeanette- thinking of you- hope you are OK- saw your post on the DTGD thread that you were sick! Keeping you in prayers!
So HOT and HUMID, did I mention HUMID??? Getting on to load DTGD cards- I do not know if I have it in me to finish all of the challenges this time- working on your challenge now Jeanette!
OMG....Shelly HUMID is an understatement!!!!! All my windows are fogged over here on my house this morning. The storms rolling through the last few days have left things like pea soup here and I hear we are getting a repeat tonight. Wish we could send this stuff to the wildfires!
Well today is our last day of watching the kids as they go back to school tomorrow. To say the least I'm a bit worried but at least we are not in Florida or Texas. The numbers there are insane. Our schools have mandated masks and from what we see around town most people are taking precautions again. Stores are asking you to mask up but not yet requiring it altho all our village buildings require them. This is so insane. Shelly I had read the long comments on a meme you posted on fb and that one lady sure gave you a run for your money so to speak.
Well kids showed up I'll check back later.......Waving to Kelly and Jeanette and Lynn.
LOL...Just wanted to pop in and tell you I drove the grands nuts this morning! I made French Toast for breakfast and way back when...........in my school days from 6th grade to senior yr I took French as my language class (dumb should have taken Spanish but French sounded more romantic) Anyway I remember basically nothing except basics. Please, thank you, close your mouth(polite right? lol), I don't know, Hello my friend, my little cabbage (suppose to be enduring?) very good, counting to 100 and there are a few more if I really think about it. Anyway Bryce kept talking and talking and talking and I finally told him to "ferme ta bouche" he's like what is that? I repeat with my fingers to my lips now he's laughing and I say Merci and he's like WHAT??? STOP AMA! LOL Of xourse I kept it up as long as I could. Funny morning!!!!
Good morning!
Yes Susan, the storms are so crazy here! We got a little rain- and high winds and humidity. Storm has blown over now. So weird to see debris and all floating in the air!
I also took French because that was the language to know back then. I remember the phrase I don't know , I do not know that.... and my friend that lived in France right after he was married (military) and learned to speak told me there is a slang for that Connait pas -short for don't know.....
I do not remember much French, but many of the words would pop into my memory when I was 'attempting' to learn Mandarin a few years ago....... LOL
LOL, yes posting that was kind of done in a moment where I was in a rare bad mood- sinus headache mostly and neck pain. One of my friends that I used to work with called me- have not seen her in a couple of years! Anyway, she still works in ICU and sounds like she has a touch of PSTD! I cannot do another round of Covid she was telling me! Then I saw the meme and posted it. That lady is a fellow stamper, very talented ......refuses a vaccine and refuses to wear a mask! Brought God into the equation- OK, stop there. SO many people responded- mostly nurses too! Who care for hospitalized Covid cases and hold the hands of those who cannot have visitors or need ventilators..... Seems there are two worlds out there today, and wearing a mask and taking the vaccine is a step to socialism..... I need to be educated, but she says the variants come from vaccinated people- and that is very incorrect, so she just immediately lost credibility with all of the nurses that posted....
Anyone heard from Jeanette? Praying and worried about her- absence!
Yeah I did alot of head shaking! That thread was unreal. But it is what it is. That thread should just be put to rest. Don't need for BP to start rising! I'm on your side girl!!!
As for Jeanette.......she's fine. I've talked to her a few times and she's been a bit under the weather but still trying to get her challenges done and its made her a bit over tired. Doesn't help that I keep interrupting her LOL.
Wonder what Lynn is doing????
Kelly have I told you that I'm enjoying your You tube video's? Sometimes you crack me up! You get so excited over the Dollar Tree! LOL
Finally getting a chance to check in. I am busy getting cards ready for a new KSS release on Monday. Haven't had time to even do any more of the DTGD challenges other than the samples I made earlier. Plan to get in some time leaving comments this evening.
Hope you are feeling better every day, Jeanette! Take good care of yourself!
Susan, what a hoot!! Would loved to have heard you springing that French on the grands!!
Shelly, there is no way to understand some people's thinking. Do they not know that God certainly played a hand in the rapid development of that vaccine which was prayed for by thousands and has saved thousands of lives already. What believer doesn't see God's hands all over that?
We'll see if I can stick around for tomorrow. LOL! I've been a mess-and-a-half!
I've read the thread - and then had to go check out Shelly's FB post. WOW! What intensity! Shelly, I'm sorry about your medical friend who's struggling. So sad. I suspect there is a lot of PTSD in the medical field these days.
i checked out Kelly's YouTube Dollar Tree post before I got sick and ended up in bed or days. I agree with Susan, such excitement - and I totally see why! I'd be excited, too! Great find, Kelly!
Susan, using your French on Bryce was awesome! I wish someone had been recording it.
Lynn, you're way ahead of me on the DTGD. I got one sample made - my own challenge - and haven't made another card. The challenges are awesome, too. I've printed them out and hopefully will try some of them after-the-fact... since I'm so far behind on usual posts that I need to catch up on as soon as I'm able (3 Musketeers, Stamp What?, Hot Mess, Travel the World... the list goes on and on).
Take care friends... and if you don't see me again for a few days, don't be surprised. Still trying my best to get better.
I'm praying for you every day, Jeanette!! May you feel better and stronger each day! Don't stress over the small stuff; sometimes we just have to let things go and begin again at a fresh place. More hugs and get well wishes to you!
Good Morning! I see Jeanette you were able to swing in here today! So happy to see that but don't over rush. Everyone needs to re-boot sometimes and it doesn't happen over night.
Lynn I'll have to admit I love throwing a "Monkey Wrench" into the grandkids day that makes them go "WHAT????" lol It's so much fun to just have all the giggling in the house. I think Nick enjoys it all too cuz he get a bit verbally loud too.
Shelly sure hope you have been surviving the storms. So much clean up stuff out here. Tree companies are sure busy and we have been getting alot of phone calls from companies wanting to do estimates for our roof (which does not need to be done lol). I sure can't wait for the cool down.
Kelly hope all is well with you.
No real plans here. Planning for Claires party on Saturday. Kids want the famous Jello! I know I just grossed Jeanette out Hahahahaha.
Sheesh! As if that's not enough... Susan is talking about Jello (eeewwww!!!).... and did she just kick me with a boot??? LOL! Susan, you make me smile!
Lynn, thank you! Such kind and encouraging words!
Waving to Shelly and Kelly and sending virtual hugs to all!
Jeanette did I? Nah...did I? hmmmmmm well??????? maybe?...no I couldn't!............welll???? I guess it does kinda sound like it tho.......... Huh! Interesting. Maybe I need to re-wind. Oh yeah I forgot there's no re-wind on my hard drive. Things come out and then they delete so I can't be held accountable!:lol::lol::lol:
Now were was I?????? Oh yeah Iam going to make jello today! Blue and green so it resembles the ocean for Claires mermaide party tomorrow. I'm pretty nervous tho. With nbrs going up and DIL has invited about 30 people I'm starting to do the backwards stroke. I know everyone invited is vaccinated. So we should be good and it will be outside and Nick will be down for his nap during the duration of the party but still my nerves are on edge. I had let my guard down over the 4th and he got a cold and fever. I had panicked that it was something else but luckly it wasn't but I do not want a repeat. Too stressful for me.
On a different note................................Did you guys see the Field of Dreams last night??? OMG Seeing Kevin Costner walk across the field.....so iconic! I loved the entire intro. Great game and I am definately one who usually does not "Watch" baseball. I'll listen to it on the radio or as background on the tv while crafting but to actually watch I find it absolutely BORING! But with the ties of last nights game to the movie I watched the entire thing! AND yay for a CHICAGO WIN!!! Even if it had to be the SOX'S. LOL CUBBY FAN here! Tho I will admit a bit sad that altho Rizzo (ex Cub for those who don't know) got traded I was sad he didn't get to play the field last night for the Yankees. Tho he was an idiot for not getting vaccinated.
Well have a great Friday. Waving to Kelly and Lynn
Yep, I'm pretty sure you did, Susan. LOL! And now you're mentioning the "J" word again. Sheesh! I can only take so much, my friend. ;)
Please please PLEASE stay healthy... no hugging/smooching at Claire's party. Well, it's probably okay to hug/smooch her... just not the 30 invited guests.
Nope, I didn't watch. I'm glad you enjoyed the game, though.
Glad you are feeling better and sharing your happy self with us again, Jeanette! Don't overdo trying to catch up!
It's Mermaid Day at Susan's house!! What a fun and long anticipated celebration for Claire!!
Hope Kelly and her family are having a ball on their adventure together!
Shelly, I sure hope the storms have let up for you all! They can be so scary!
Me, I am hoping for a day home alone to do absolutely anything I want. Of course, one of those things needs to be laundry. All my samples are done for Monday, but I may be making more, since the theme suits me to a T! Will also work on commenting on DTGD entries while listen to a book on CD I am enjoying!! I'm even planning to cook dinner for myself: meatloaf and baked potato! Would have done that yesterday but I forgot to get the beef out of the freezer. It is out and defrosting now!
I hope each of you gets to enjoy your weekend doing exactly what you love!
Yep today is Party day and I am officially freaking out!!!! DIL (after I confronted her) admitted there may be 2 family's that are not vaccinated attending the party! WHAT????? OMG....I specifically told her she better make sure everyone was shot up before inviting but last night she said... " well I couldn't "Not" invite so n' so or so n' so but its outside so I'm sure it'll be fine" Well now for sure NICK WILL NOT BE ANYWHERE NEAR THIS PARTY!!! I told her she better contact them and insist on masks and what does she do??? She puts a little add on to the FB invite. Which I'm sure no one will go back and check on. UGH......Can you tell I am not a happy camper? Maybe I should "Chill lax" I don't know....... I mean I guess if they're not freaking out should I be? UGGGGHHHHH. OK OK BREATHE..........everything will be ok. I can do this.............I always can adjust. Nick will be taking a nap. Everyone will be outside. I have a ton of Clorox, Lysol, hand sanitizer etc and we will be fine. BREATHE. I'll check in later and let you know if I'm still breathing lol.
Lynn a day of doing nothing but whatever you want to do sounds PERFECT to me! Enjoy every moment. Yummmm Meatloaf sounds way more yummy than the hotdogs I'm having. I think I'll make a meatloaf tomorrow.
I would be freaking out, too, Susan! I will be praying that all your are protected. Hot dogs sound pretty tasty to me, too! I came "this close" to buying some at the store yesterday but knew I would pig out if I did!
