April, left you love and this question on your blog earlier this AM. YOU ARE TOO DANG GOOD, GIRL!!! I wondered if you made up the template on this and you did!
A little help for a mere mortal here, please???? ;) These are sooooo nice!!
Darlene,
I looked here at the tutorials, but didn't 'get it', so yes, I did design my own, so to speak!
I took a full sheet of 8.5 by 11 and scored both of the long sides in at 1.25. Then I turned the paper and scored across the whole thing at 4 7/8 and 6 1/8. That 1.25 inches makes the base; and it equals what I made the depth. I then scored the narrow one inch strips 1 inch from the outside.
Once done scoring, I trimmed away what I didn't need - the four rectangles at each corner.
Then I made cuts on the score lines for the base.
I used score tape to put it all together and then used ribbon for my 'handle' by putting brads in each side at the dots on my template.

Does that help at all, or maker it worse??
Make it worse??????? Are you kidding? This is GREAT!!!
Thanks so much! I'll let you know when I use it. You're da best! :p
You all are so inspiring. and I am a little green with envy over your crafty time. Was hoping to get some over the weekend and it didn't happen. Friday My mom came to vist, Saturday BF and I went to a Habitat for Humanity find raiser auction and Sunday we filled leaks in my house and cleaned. Up at 4:00 this morning to finish the home work done I didn't get done over the weekend.
Here is number 22. It is a double z fold card and you ar seeing it open....lol. I am counting it, even though I had to print it today.....was free though and all paper, CS, etc was from my stash!
Thanks! I know cupcakes are a bit overdone after the big cupcake craze the last few years - but I still like them....like to eat them too - but that's not a good thing. LOL!!
You ladies are really into this challenge. [UVery [U] inspiring - love the colors. Working on paper piecing some penguin cards hoping to finish those later. Here is my number 11 on day 19 got come catching up to do. Thanks to all for sharing.
Very pretty card, Karla... I love the pink/white color scheme.
Busy day at the card factory....had a playday at my house and we chatted and created.....
Card 20--made from card candy received in a previous forest swap....simple and quick SC122
Card 21 and 22- SC127 couldn't decide if 3 butterflies or two each of two color sets was better---
Card 23 SC126--card candy, punch art, and fun image on S'mores paper....what fun
Card 24 and Card 25--a blue and a pink exactly the same using Sc129---only photo of the blue one though
Card 25 from SC125--easy but fun to do,,,inside sentiment is sponged, punched and embellished with more of the embossilits butterflies.
Card 26 SC126--another one definately from stash....punch art, card candy, images left over from another Forest Swap...love the woodgrain early expresson paper....
WOW!!! You were busy, Pansy! Love them all - excited to see how you used the forest "candy". I really like the Noah's Ark card, too!
You guys know that I posted the elf girl card? well she now has a name,,,the stamp is Alva and she is a Magnolia....I posted an ISO message and a reader did the searching for me and found it at a company called Simon Says Stamp which I had never heard of.....the stamp was part of a Jingle Jangle collection in 2008....and I was able to purchase it so in a few days I will be a happy stamper .....not that I am not a happy stamper anyway...LOL!
Yeah for the far reaching fingers of persons on SCS.
Woo Hoo!!! Great news! but.............. ummmmmmmmmmmmm... I'm pretty sure this means you can no longer "count" that card as one of your 100. J/K!
Hi gals,
here's my contribution to the piecing challenge (see You can Do It Challenge on my siggy)
(dress,shirt and skirt-plus angel's robe too)
I actually found the embossed piece of c/s all cut up already ad mixed in my scrap tub,
and made a card around it.
I used stamps from my stash that never inked before (MFT cafe' girls, bought at a stamps garage sale 2 yrsago) and an old SU stamp that was only inked once since I bought it 7 yrs ago!! Yikes....(that takes care also of my 100 cards challenge too)
1st card has not one but THREE pierced items( dress, shirt and skirt)
2nd card is very glittery...I really should use that beautiful angel more often...first time I pierced it too!
Except for the c/s base -from my c/s stacks *btw I haven't bought ANY colored c/s in over a year and half and still have tons!* All the rest of d/p and c/scomes from my scrap pile....I have a hugeeee tub of scraps!
The flowers and gems on first card I had for over a year at least,as well as the pearls in second card....I think they may have been gifted to me....
Here are 19 and 20.....kind of. I am not counting by card, but by project. And btw, don't you hate when there is no real tutorial for what you need. Glad I mocked it up on a piece of copy paper first! The little tote holds. Set of eight cards and envelopes!
WOW!!! Love this, April! The colors are gorgeous and the little tote too cute!

How fun! Love how the banner is placed inside. Cute!!!
How LOVE'ly! Great embellishment to go along with that heart of buttons!
It reminds me of a project Brock and I did when he was in 2nd grade. For 100 Days (the 100th day of school) that year, the students in his class were to bring 100 of one thing. Knowing Brock, I knew he would not really care about doing such a thing and wouldn't explain it to his teacher or anything. He was in a regular classroom and the teacher that year really did NOT want him in her class. So I wanted him to do well with this project. (Mothers!) Sooooooooooo he and I counted out 100 buttons and I sewed all 100 of them (1 at a time) onto a brand new sweatshirt. Then he counted the 100 buttons again and I talked to him about telling his teacher what it was. He proudly wore his new (and quite heavy) sweatshirt to school that day. The teacher - for once - was impressed with Brock. And others at the school even told me when they'd see me how very wonderful his 100 Day project was.
Wow! leave you guys alone for two days and you really turn up the heat....totally impressed April, Jeanette, Zella. love the folds and the layers.......
off to up load some of mine.

Just stopping in to drop off card 13 (card 12 went in the mail before taking a picture) another sympathy for both. Friends who parents had caught the flu.
So, keep those hands washed often everyone. Stay safe and warm (it's a balmy 5 degrees here right now without the windchill).

Angie,,,,you have a very full plate with job changes, school work and a BF too...Just hang in there,,,,you will have some time to craft soon.
oh I know, it is just chaos for a little while. This class is 10 weeks and I think I get a block break before the next one starts. I just get to admire all of your cards in the meantime.
Pansy, WOW!!! I love those cards... especially the ones with the quilt block look. Fabulous!
Karla, I'm sorry you've needed to create Sympathy cards, but your card IS lovely! I'm sure the family receiving it will appreciate your thoughtfulness.
Thanks for the info, April. Is it a current SU set or an oldie but goodie? I'm not familiar with it.
