So, yesterday I ordered 3of the mini pot 6-pks and also 6 ind large pots. I had a question on shipping and called yesterday-the lovely customer service rep told me they had over 200 internet orders to process. So then late last night I panicked: would they have left any of the sets I wanted by the time they got to my order? I was imagining getting 1 ind pot out of all that-lol. So I just called to ask if I would get a chance to order different ones if mine were un-available and she told me they have so many orders they are having to do another production run so we will get what we order- YEA!!! I thought that might be a concern for someone else, too. Oh, I can hardly wait-I am doubling my amount of h2o's with this order. Happy Easter and MOther's day to me

I am a huge fan, too. I love the vibrancy of the colors. (Is that a word?) Okay - so I just created a swatch sheet ... and, yes, 3 out of 60? had 'something' in it. so I wiped them out .. added more water and left them open to dry for 24 hours. Now they all look just fine. Did I mention I bought 24 more pots? and I'm going throught what I have to see what I should reoroder. I love that translucent set very much.
and 2 more mists.
Oh. 1 had dried upside down so I had to peal it out of the cap in pieces. Added water to the scraps - and it's all find and level now. WOW! I love watercolors. If only I was as talented using them as abusing them. <wink>
oops. I just saw Steph772's post. Maybe I water mine too much when I use them?
To BillieDee, i dont think you do anything wrong with the h20s. I paint with mine when the paint is pretty thick, but that is just how I feel comfortable. I like bright colors.
You can use it as a wash too. I just love these little babies, they have so many possiblities. It is soooo sad to see them going out of business.
Has anyone had their order corrected?

When we used them at CHA we misted the pots with ALOT of water to do a couple of the techniques-SUe was an expert so if she says water um if ya want-then it's okay by me. I still get excited thinking about 100+ open pots sitting on the table to use-forget good chocolate : gimme twinkle-lol

I called on the shipping-the order is placed on the computer-but someone has to do the order on an order form, adjust the amount and add shipping- sounds like a little bit of an out dated system, but, when they have over 200 orders to fill-makes sense why we don't have totals yet. I am going to add some of my twinkled cards to my gallery. To anyone who has not used these yet-you will not be disappointed...they are amazing!!

ok, I think that I need to finally try these. I am thinking of buying one of the 24 packs of minis. Any suggestions for verstaile colors? Thanks in advance.
I placed a huge order for these babies! They look like so much fun! I did speak to a rep at Luminarte and as stated above they will adjust the order price when your order is processed....so don't worry when the credit is not showing up at the time you place your order.
Happy Shopping everyone!

She has free P&P at the moment and a 10% sale on. Quite a few of the 6 sets and some 12 sets. She's a good seller- bought stuff from her before with no problems.
Just ordered 'a few' more, they last for so long! It'll put my collection up to 108 but there are so many beautiful colours-you just HAVE to have them!!!

make sure you get a lite-like white or creme so you can blend your own colors. The 3 sets I use the most are the mocha rose-it has lite beiges and tans and a plae pink-great for different skin tones and lt pink for inside ears and cheeks on animals, also the set with Midori melon-the pink is a gorgeous rose shade(does not look like the swatch they have-at all!! and the last set I use the most is the orange, yellow, blue. I will go look up the set numbers right now.

the sets #'s I use the most are:
601/651-love the "pure" colors yellow, orange and the black cherry is yummy-I blend it with a lot of lighter ones
612/662-at first glance that all look the same-but they are not, I think I use this the most: skin, animals, blending, etc.
622/672-uses 2 of the colors in the above link- the golden monarch and the rose gold are phenominal-I got the set at CHA when it came out or I wouldn't have bought it at first look-but the colors rock!
I just remembered this little chart I keep in my tote of twinkles. It's only 24 colors but it will give you a comparison between some similar colors-most of my sets were gifts so I have a lot of similar colors ;)

I mostly use Twinkling H20s for sky and grass backgrounds so I like to have 2-3 shades of green + 2-3 shades of blue (that I like with the greens).
I also use them to color in flower petals and leaves so yellows, pinks, reds and some browns for the floral centers. Also a darker green than I'd use for grass scenes.
And, the irridescent colors + oyster are designed to help you adjust the other colors without losing shimmer.
But, if money was not an issue I would want every single color!

Thanks for the chart it is a lot easier to tell the color vs. the website.

Thanks Tina, I can't afford every color but I am sure going to take this opportunity to get some. I will be sure to get some of the colors that you mention and the oyster too.
Thanks to you enablers I just put in an order. I ordered one of the 24 packs (number ends in 55 I believe and it has a Lilac color in it), the water dropper thing, and 2 individual pots - Buttercream and Sea Glass. I'm leary not knowing how much shipping will be...but have my fingers crossed that I won't regret this.
love this chart-wish I'd have seen it before I ordered-I might have gotton different browns, since on this chart you can compare to each other easier. thanks for the chart

These threads get expensive! Thanks for all the helpful information. I have a couple of sets that I like a lot, but really needed some other colors. Now I hope I ordered the right ones.
I am not sure I am using them right - I use the aqua brush, just barely wet the top of the paint, and dab the brush until I get the amount of color I would like. I am fairly careless - put the lids back on - mostly because my table space is so limited that if I did not they would soon be buried never to be found again.
You got my attention LOL. I looooooooooooooove my twinkling H2O's. I currently have 78 colours and thanks to the person who posted that luminarte was going out of business, I should have another 36 for a total of 114 colours when my new order, which I placed 5 min. ago comes thru.
Okay .... since I wasn't charged yet - I phone ... and ordered MORE!
Oh wow ~ Great Idea! I ordered some last night and then regretted not getting a couple of colors that I was on the fence about. There goes my Stamp to Spend budget! I better get busy!
See that's why you need to just get them all. I didn't realize I had so many-they make 168 colors and I had all but 48. but I only counted 119 and I should have 120 so I either misplaced one or I miscounted.
I am drooling-when my new ones get here I will have 48  But each color is so lucious!!

Has anyone received their order or even had sale totals confirmed yet? I know they're busy, but you would think some of the first orders would have heard something by now.
i am also getting anxious - tho not because i am concerned just because i want them so badly! trish your cards are gorgeous - i usually do this with mementos but i am looking forward to trying it with twinks! can you give me the steps - my first attempts were a little disappointing!
Luminarte called me today to ask me a question about my order, so I know they're getting to it now-at least they're getting to my first order! They said that they have over 800 orders to fill and they're processing them in the order that they were received.

I placed an order last night and almost immediately had a confirmation but no discount or postage listed. I got nervous and called this a.m. She said that the discount is applied as the order is filled, and that postage would be around $7.50. I ordered 3 sets of 6 and 2 single large pots. I really wanted a lot more but DH is threatening to pull a trailer behind the motor home - for my stamping stuff and probably for me, too LOL!
Here is an alternate source:

They are also having a 40% off sale on their web site, but we hope that you order through us, on Our (www.acountrywelcome) Order Form. By ordering through us also helps us to stay in business during these trying times, and we really apprieciate your continued support. You can view all of their products at www.luminarteinc.com. 7.50's not bad. I ordered one of the large sets and 2 small pots so I imagine mine will be about the same as yours. Glad to hear it!
