Here it is, already 4 days into the new year. This year the S2S forum will take a bit of a different look. For anyone new to this thread, S2S stand for 'stamp to save' or some like to call it 'stamp to spend'. Our purpose here is to focus on the stamping supplies we already own, being creative in using them and increasing our creative productivity, whether it is cardmaking, scrapbooking, mixed media creations, journaling, or even canvas art. We balance our production against our spending and post running totals, usually once a month.
It is up to each individual to decide on the earning points and amounts. And it is up to each person to keep track. For example here are my earning points:
Finished card $2.00
Doing a challenge card $1.00 for each challenge up to 3
Tags, ATC's, $1-$3 depending on how complicated
Scrapbook page: $2-$4, depending on time spent
Prep work for Sunday School crafts $1 per child
Card workshop $2-$5. per person
Card kits $2. each
Setting a challenge on this (or any other) forum.
This is just an example. Many of us add payment for other things that are challenging for us, like excercise, pounds dropped, books read, extending hospitality ......anything that is difficult for each individual.
This is my 4th year moderating this forum, and I am getting a bit stale as far as challenge ideas are concerned, so I have asked for help. I want to change our challenge day from Mondays to Thursdays.
I will post challenges the first 2 weeks of each month, hope to get someone else to do week 3 and 4 and if there is a 5th Thursday, I will do it again.
The first 3 posts on this thread will be saved for posting the challenges, for a quick reference.
The next post will be for volunteers to sign up for posting challenges.
OK, let's not sweat it, and have fun.
One more thing. It is not manditory to do any challenges. This has also been aa social networking board, and friendships have been forged. There is aways room for more friends, to share, to support each other.

Ina, thank you so very much for keeping this challenge going for all of us. I ended the year in the red as usual, so I think I'll just go for a clean start. Of course, I'm already waiting for an order from SU...anyway, if all of you help with ideas, I'll be happy to post in May.
Sally, I ended up zo deeply in the red, it was a crimson flood! I became a hobby SU demo in February to help my demo get to the next level and earn a trip to Greece this year. I figured while I was at it, I should get wverything I wanted. I am discontinuing it this quarter, so I should be in better shape this coming year. I am recalibrating down to start the year at $0.

Moving to the new thread. Thanks for hosting again Ina! Definately starting my balance at $0. I spent a little today at my LSS and I go to "Make it Monday" with my SU! demo so I know I will have a couple of Sale-a-bration orders. Hoping to balance all that spending with birthday cards. I volunteered to make all of the birthday cards for my co-workers this year
Ina, put me down for April 18 firstly, at the moment we have so many jobs to do, I can’t commit to March yet as our son may be over sometime that month, I will do some others later when they have all booked their flights.
Thanks Ina for starting this thread. I am also going to clear out my very red balance from last year and start afresh. I lost track towards the end but I did spend more than I saved lol.
Today has been hot...38 degrees. Playing golf in it was unbearable but we survived. Now home. Fed and watered and in my jimjams and about to watch a show.
Have fun everyone. Nite

We’re re grouting the flat roof on the villa and it’s baking up there, down to shorts and tee shirts, we’ve scrapped out all the old stuff and now I’m re filling, it’s taking me longer than I thought as we’ve already been doing it for six days and I think it will take another week.
Then it’s down the stairs! Should keep us occupied for a couple of months!!
It’s the day of the Three Kings today so everywhere was shut although we had breakfast out, tomorrow we are going out for lunch when we’ve cleaned the car, it’s going for it’s yearly mechanical check, I know you don’t have them in the states! Thats astounding to us as they do them in England too.
Better news.. my friend is in ICU but she is sitting up.
I am just plain exhausted so i plan on watching tv. Grumpy was just here having lunch with me and telling me to not do too much . Yup he takes good care of me.
Jan, we don't have MOTs here but regular serving of our cars as per the manual/mileage or when the garage contacts us..lol. It's pretty much like an MOT and costs a fortune..lol. If you don't renew your car licence here then cars have to go over the pits and if they find things, they have to be done before they can go back on the road. The youngest let his licence lapse several years ago and when the car went over the pits it needed a lot of work done. Would have been cheaper to have just paid his licence....mmm!
Have a fun day everyone...I'm back to my chores. I stopped for a little while to add some crackle to my mixed media pages I'm doing. I joined in the challenge from last week. Will be my 1 challenge/week goal. Hence I find myself on here...lol.
Must keep going. Bye for now.

Remember ladies, we/I have changed our challenges from Mondays to Thursdays.
I hope that is ok with the management here. I did not check with anyone, as this is not one of the major challenges that are listed on the opening page of SCS.
I hope y'all had a great, relaxing weekend. Schools back in for kids and teachers. I was out on my school prayer walk at 7:30 this morning and there was a nasty, bitter wind. Looking like freezing rain later today, so I am happy I don't have to go out again today.

Thanks Ina for the reminder. I'm happy to "host" the challenge for 24th January if you still need help. I have an idea. I'm happy to help when I can but have to take each month as it comes. We are also away in April. Let me know if you would like me to do 24th Jan.
Jan, yes it gets cold here in WA in winter....well cold to me..lol. Our winters are around 17 Celsius but we can get down to 13 some days. Our minimum in winter at night is around 3 or 4 degrees but a couple of years ago it went to -1. We usually get our rain during winter and last yes I'm told it rained a lot whilst we were away. When I first arrived in Australia many years ago it used to be beautiful weather for 9 months of the year.....now I find the weather is getting colder and for longer and our summer shorter. Last year we didn't seem to get a summer for long. Over East the weather is different again. Melbourne can have 4 seasons in a day. All States are so different. At the top of our State it is very hot...and dry with cyclone weather now. When it's winter here it is beautiful up north of our State. We have bush fires, droughts, floods, cyclones, snow in winter in parts of NSW and Vic....a very diverse country.
I've been finishing the mixed media challenge and am very inky...lol. I needed something light to do. Tomorrow I shall scrap. I'm trying not to get distracted by card challenges as I need to scrap more this year.
Happy Tuesday everyone.

Good morning all, and good evening to our friends down under. Jayne, even your winter weathet sounds lovely. Weather patterns certainly are changing. We used to have bitter cold in January and February. That meant weeks on end of -20C degrees or colder, down to as low as -32 degrees, with varying amounts of snow on the ground. So far this winter, we have had days around 0 to -6 andba snowfall, then up above 0 again, with the snow all melting. We had freezing rain last evening, then the temp went up to +7 degrees at 2 am with rain, now it is 3 degrees, dry for awhile I hope, as I want to get my walk in before it starts to rain again. Then the temps will go down again. Wow, I just can't keep up with the changes.
Jayne, I would live for you to do the challenge on January 24. I will write your name in on post # 4. Thanks so much.

Jayne your weather sounds similar to ours in winter, cold first thing, mostly 6-9c, by 11am we are up to 18c or more most days, no snow down here in the south and not very much rain, some years we havent had rain from February to November, we feel the climate is changing and weve had much more rain last year.
Our logs have wood beetles in them, with being away for so long in winter last year we didn’t use the previous years delivery, we must have had some beetles in the last load, we’ve never had any before, anyway they are full of holes and you can even hear them at night when they are in the log basket, freeks me out, ha,ha, needless to say we don’t keep any logs inside until evening, they seem to burn really quickly too, must be all the holes and there’s sawdust everywhere!
Finally.. not in a good way... the hospital called the hubby to come to the hospital ... which his son was supposedvto do today. I figure.. end of life question like taking her off support.
I want to thank you all for helping me through this. Then again it isn't over cause he will still be living alaone.
Lynn, so sorry to hear this. I sure hope they see that her hubby gets some help. Like a social worker to help him figure out what to do. Especially if his kids aren't going to help him.
Happy Wednesday/Tuesday everyone. Sitting up in bed but need to be vertical as my sinus headache is playing up today. Fortunately I don't have too much to do.
Lynn, sorry to hear your news and hopefully the son will man up.
Ina, in my diary for the 24th and I will give you advance notice of any other dates I can help with as we go along.
Jan...eek beetles. I would freak too. I freak out at most things...lol.
I did the mixed media challenge...badly..but I had fun. I really need to learn about white space..lol.
Gotta fly...need to pop a pill as my head is pounding. Bye for now.

Lynn, I am so sorry to hear about your friend, although it wasn't a big surprise for me. My thoughts and prayers go out for you and your friend's family. I pray that the son and daughter will step up and see what kind of care their dad needs, and I pray that you will ot have to be in the middle of this issue. Grieve for your friend, but take care of yourself too. Big hugs.

Get well Ina....nothing worse. I'm much better now I'm vertical and moving. Thanks also Lynn and hope you are ok.
Time to seize our day here and later I'm scrapping.

Wow Lynn that is an awesome idea. I don't think the sunroom/patio is open. Not sure. I think there's bi-fold or doors on there that are flush with the floor and I noticed the blinds to keep out the wind. Victoria gets very cold in winter and can have 4 seasons in a day. I couldn't get over the cost...so cheap and the lady does have an advantage being able to build it on the family property. Great idea for young people who are trying to get into having their first home too. Love it. TFS Happy day

I was thinking from a Canadian perspective. What i call the sunroom has a wall of windows which hit the floor. If the weather can hit -32c then that would not be enough protection. My aunt had a large camper or caravan. They doubled the space by adding a screened in sun room or porch. It was only for warm weather use.
Hi Ladies, I hope you are all feeling better, I’ve only had sinus problems a couple of times and it was painful, I bought a nose spray this time and it worked really well rather than take pills.
So Lynn, we have what we call a conservatory, with windows all around it, sliding windows for summer, it’s brilliant in winter here as it gets hot at this time of year, in summer it’s unbearable with the heat until late evening but it’s kind of like being in the garden but out of the wind or chill, plus it’s as big as our Lou ge and dining room so much more space to spread out when we have visitors.
Talking of visitoris, our son and youngest GS are coming over at the end of March and are flying into the new airport that is only 27km away, half an hours drive instead of 90 minutes, it opens next week, it’s been built for ten years and never opened!!
Sorry Lynn for your news about your neighbour, as others said I hope their family step up and look after their dad, be careful not to let them put on you, their dad isn’t your responsibility, take care, you’ve been a good friend.
We’re re grouting the flat roof on the villa and it’s baking up there, down to shorts and tee shirts, we’ve scrapped out all the old stuff and now I’m re filling, it’s taking me longer than I thought as we’ve already been doing it for six days and I think it will take another week.

We don't have yearly checks, but depending on the state, they are required when getting new plates/ stickers. We just had the Suzuki and my truck done. We're good now til we have to renew in 2021

Finally trying to get in a groove.
Lynn, so sorry for your friend and I can only echo what the others have said. Hang in there, lady! Paint your toenails purty and pamper yourself.
