I want to share a scenario that I am thinking you might understand. I finally get some alone time in my busy life. Time I can sit and create. When I get my supplies out, I experience a crafter's block. I WANT to create, but what? Can you relate?
Not only does it happen when I think of what I'm going to create, if you talk to some of the hostesses of the Splitcoast Challenges, I am sure that they will also say that sometimes they hit a block when it comes to finding new ways to challenge.
The other day when I saw that my turn for hostessing was coming up, I came up with an idea to share with you one of the ways I find inspiration.
There are lots of places that we can get inspiration, listening to a song, reading a poem, playing along with the SCS challenges.... and one of my favorite ways- PINTEREST. Now the drawback with PINTEREST, is I go looking for inspiration and sometimes get sucked into it and before I know it my crafting time is done.
So here is my challenge. Call it more of a game if you would like to.
Time limit for inspiration is 10 mins.
In the search box on PINTEREST, type in
"MIXED MEDIA", (a craft medium of your choice), (2 colors) and then (an improper noun).
so for example you could type "MIXED MEDIA, ALCOHOL INKS, BLUE, GREEN DRAGONFLIES"
Use something that you see to inspire your project.
When I typed in the above words, I found
THIS PROJECT. I was inspired by the colors and the flower. You can see my card in the first thumbnail that was inspired by this.
I had my good friend Pam play along with me this week. She typed in "MIXED MEDIA, BRUSHOS, PURPLE, YELLOW, FLOWERS" This is
THE PROJECT that inspired her. Hers are the next 2 attached thumbnails. I really liked the project she picked for inspiration so I played along and my second card is the final thumbnail.
This week as part of my challenge there are BONUS POINTS. Yes you heard me right Bonus points if you use a stamp that you haven't used for a long time. You get double Bonus points if you haven't used it for at a year.
