Can you believe this is our 3rd year of Scrappin' Goal Challenge?! We sure completed an AWESOME number of pages together in 2008 & 2009 and I'm looking forward to MORE Scrap pages together in 2010! Let's keep scrappin'.
It was SO fun to see everyone's goals and ideas for completing LOTS of scrapbook pages in 2010! Many had a common theme - get more pages done, use what's in our stash, meet new scrapping friends, plan time/crops...
What fun we'll have sharing ideas, cheering success, keeping the motivation and making new friends. Our scrap goal isn't all about getting pages done, it's also about enjoying the process! Please feel free to join at any time!
Here's the CHALLENGE. Each person will post what their scrapbook page goal is for February. We will have a better shot at meeting our yearly goal if we break it down by month. Along with the scrapbook page goal for February, if you'd like to play along with the "Using Stash Crew" decide what your scrapping budget will be for that month.
*In this thread, we'll track how we do for the month. Look HERE to share and track your Annual Goals. *
You choose your own scrapbook page goal and monthly spend goal. You may select 2, 3, 5, 50 pages....you choose. The idea is to be flexible so if you know you're going to be really busy, you can reduce the number one month or if you're going to a couple crops or scrap weekends, up the number. This also works for the budget. Each month, you can change your goals depending on your calendar!
The whole goal of the challenge is to get lots of pages done, use more in our stash before buying new (well at least keep track) and if you want to play along w/ saving --- save $$ at the same time which becomes scrapping budget $ for next year -- or vacation money or Holiday fund! See POST #3below for BUDGET!
Are you UP for the CHALLENGE? Come and Play in the 2010 Scrapbook Challenge! Happy New Year! Here's to Meeting our Scrapping Goals & Meeting New Friends!
(Pssst...in case you're interested in the "history", here's the thread that started it all 3 years ago...
We'd love to "oohh" and "aahh" over your pages so please post with key word "SBC10Feb"

*This is where we'll track our Scrap Page Goal for February* Feel Free to join at any time. Our Annual "Craft" (cards, gifts, scrapbook pages, etc HERE).
I'm SURE you will all agree that we need to go back and add in our focus on our scrapping budgets! It's a good time of the year to start as we'll all want some goals or resolutions to use more of what we have. Some of us have been using the "budget" idea since we started, others not so much. There are several ways to do this:
1. Set a $$ spending budget for the month & track your expenditures against budget set.
2. Match your scrapbook/stamping spending by putting the same amount away in savings that you spend on scrapbook/stamp stuff. This gives you extra $$ for either more scrap/stamp spending or something fun
3. Set a "Scrap to Spend" page goal. Come up with a goal to complete before you spend more $$ (for instance, "complete 25 pages before spending"
4. Do a combination or all of them!
Many times scrapping and stamping supply purchases are "impulse" buys. We want to encourage not only LOTS of Pages completed but creative, productive use of our STASH. Let's see if together we can be "CREATORS" and not just "COLLECTORS". (Thanks MP )
You do NOT have to set a budget to play along with Scrappin' Goal Challenge. This is only for those of us who would like to play
I will post our Scrap Budgets here...let's see if we can band together and encourage everybody to keep on goal
Spending Budget Group
* Rachel (RDeaton) - Stash!
* Lela (LMN) - Stash!
* Carole (pipecaro) - $25 Matching Saving/Spending Goal Group
* Anavon (Annie's Pantry) - $10 Save / $10 Spend
* Gina (Mousey'sMom) - $20 Save / $20 Spend Scrap to Spend Goal Group

I will set my goal at 20 this month as I am going to see my new grand baby tomorrow and I am sure I will take a picture or two...... and I have all my vacation and retirement pictures from December to scrap yet!

Thanks so much for doing this Lela!!! I surpassed my goal last month.
I think I'll up it a little and say 12 this month...and I will do a save $20/spend $20 (however I'm not counting my kit club toward this $20! loL!!!!)
AND...I want to start submitting to paper magazines to try and get published so I'm going to set a goal of submitting at least 5 LOs to at least 2 different magazines. This is just a personal one, but I think I need the accountability! lol
Well, I only had a goal of 7 for January and since I have 16 pages done as of now (with a couple I hope to post tomorrow), I think I'll shoot for 14 in February (a page every other day). I'm also hoping to make several of them paper pages, since I own tons of supplies that I want and need to use!
We're hoping to get away for a couple of weeks in February, so I'm going to set my goal for 10 pages again this month.

Hello ladies! I would like to join in the fun! My page goal is 10 pages in February. My family owns a Scrapbooking store so my budget is kind of weird, but for every 10 pages completed I can spend $30 on scrapbooking stuff.
I'm not setting a goal this month since I went way over last month and I've got lots of personal things I need to do. If I set a goal I know I'll let that other "more important" stuff by the wayside . Scrapping has become so addictive but I love looking at everyone else's creations for inspiration so I'll be sure to continue watching you all. If I get everything done in February that needs to be done, I'll set another goal in March!

you lucky lady Melissa! Not only do you get a "good deal" you also probably get first dibs on product.

Most of the time, but I get bored with the product in the store... seeing the same stuff all the time... I like to visit a few other stores in the area. The money I spend at our store doesnt count toward my budget.

Melissa - which store is it, I have been to a few out there, lived there for a few years, and in-laws are down in the valley in Kent on the Strawberry Farm

Hello Everyone! I just uploaded my final two layouts for January putting me at a total of 9 pages on a goal of 4.:p I'm pretty impressed with myself. I did about 3 dps in January which I don't normally do.
I'm gonna make my goal for February 4 pages.
Looking forward to scrappin' February with you all.
Well now I can chat in this thread... you stinkers who started earlier lol I was not going to join until I made my goal.... I read the thread, just wasn't going to post lol
I posted this in the January thread, but since it's the 31st, I thought I would post it here.
More thoughts on Kits....
These are not monthly kits, just kits. I was reading the comments someone wrote about not using a lot of background paper and it got me thinking about the kit suggestions. Joann's has Colorbok kits in the store (I'm not seeing them online) they have just patterned paper and embellies (stickers, alpha chipboard, and some other things) They aren't very expensive and all you really need is matching cardstock, which they have there. Same with the Me and My Big Ideas kits. Or if you like the Simply Scrappin' Kits from Stampin' Up, you can buy them on ebay for a little cheaper. Most are kits that are no longer in the catalog. If you haven't done Simply Scrappin', they have cardstock and patterned paper and matching stickers. Also, I have Tuesday Morning near me (I don't know if you do) but they have had some K & Company kits and some other companies too and they are discounted.
Things I would think about before buying a kit (QUIZ):
(1) Do you like to try different things?
(2) Do you have a very specific style or do you like most things?
(3) What do you like to use the most when you scrapbook? (do you want ribbon, cardstock, chipboard, patterned paper, vellum quotes, rub-ons)
(4) How much do you want to spend?
If you answered no to #1, I wouldn't do a monthly kit. If you answered specific style to #2, I wouldn't do a monthly kit. So then the goal is to find a kit that has similar things to what you answered in #3 and accomplishes #4.
If you answered yes to #1 and you like most things (#3) then a monthly kit is a fun way to accomplish those.

I know I made my goal in January (may have exceeded it) but I haven't updated my total yet or uploaded very many pics b/c of some changes going on around here.
I want to do 20 pages for Feb. as well and will set up more specific goals/projects in the other thread. I will update my totals tonight I want to use only stash.
Edit: I completed 39 pages in Jan

You said everything I feel!! I have SO much I want to do...but physically don't have the energy to get it done!! If I push myself to much I certainly pay for it the rest of the night with back pain.
I feel very crabby as well!! I'm not sure if it a pregnant thing...I'm pretty sure I would be this crabby either way...it seems like all we have been doing is RUN...RUN...RUN. The kids are so busy right now with wrestling and basketball it makes my head spin!!
I feel last week on the ice and my hip has ached since...I know there is nothing seriously wrong...just going to take time and not being pregnant anymore to feel good again!!
Yeppers, sign me up for another 9 this month! I blew my January goal outta the water thanks to the VSBN!
Also, for my budgeting, I'm concentrating on using my stash and only buying solid color cardstock to match existing dp! (adhesive doesn't count, right? ;) )

BTW...love the name you have picked out!! :-D
Being in pain won't help you either, and unforunately if you bruised the bone it takes forever to heal, so I feel for ya!!!
I don't think I would be this bad if my hubby was actually home more and I wasn't so stressed at getting it all done (but can't do much) before baby gets here, but we need the income too. He has 3 actual days off before scheduled surgery date, talk about stressed out!!! Not to mention playing carpool for my 3 year old dd, twice weekly dr. appts, that last about 90 mins and still adjusting to our puppy, who now weighs probably 80 lbs At least she is lazy for the most part, but I just can't play with her like she wants to be played with.
At least I got the dishes done and some laundry, and hubby's dad is delayed till tomorrow night, so not as stressed at getting one other bathroom cleaned and more picked up, at least it's getting done, I think that was some of the motivation I needed, however, I know when I start overdoing it and just pay in pain for too long, ugh!!! Plus my dd has way too much energy and is the world's worst sleeper so I haven't slept regardless even if I wanted to, grrrr
And thanks on baby's name
Maci Noelle, goes with our MNM (M&M) theme

umm yea, definitely the same time, surgery is scheduled for 1:30 that afternoon
my first was 10 days early though, and they have this schedule 5 days prior, so we shall see if she cooperates or if my water breaks again

Since I went way over for January I am upping February from 7 to 14 pages.
I didn't set any monetary goals yet and this would not be a good month to start since I'm going to a stamp show in Clearwater 2/20. Also since moving I have joined a friend in a stamp club here so am obligated to $25 a month.
Any one going to that event on the twentieth?

Happy February!
I got 26 done (goal of 12) for January, so that was very, very cool!
For February I think I'll set a goal of 15. I have enough photos printed to keep me busy, its just a matter of having TIME to do it all.
