Happy (belated) St. Patrick's Day. This is for Stamperrobin's fun Free for All challenge...Going to Pot, found here.
Here we have young Paddy, painted green in honour of the occasion and wearing his big brothers special leprechaun hat. I am having heaps of fun making cards (card fronts) to go in my art book. I make notes in the book about colours, techniques, stamps etc. It is good to flick through the book when I am having a brain freeze.
The background was done using Milled Lavender and Seedless Preserves distress inks and the Smack & Squirt technique - smack distress ink pad onto al foil, squirt on water and using a foam blending tool, scrub the inky water onto the cardstock. Scrub a bit of undiluted ink around the edges. The ground was done with the same method using Mowed Grass. Walnut stain was used around the border.
I forgot to say, I stamped the tree trunk first, it is only short , so I flipped it upside down and stamped some more of the straight part of the trunk. The MISTI is fabulous for lining the trunk up.
The trunk is by Lavinia Stamps - seriously gorgeous stamps but packaged very badly. If you own any Lavinia Stamps it is important to take them off the printed acetate. Throw the acetate out. If the black printed acetate has already started to flake into tiny bits, wash your stamps
straight away and store them in different packaging. You need to be very gentle when removing the flakes from silhouette images.
Young Paddy was coloured with Spectrum Noirs, his brothers hat (homemade by me) was coloured with markers and distress ink. The pot was cut from a fabulous old book that has advertisements of old collectables and trinkets.
Thank you for looking and I hope you get a chance to join in the fun.

Surely, Ms. Susie, you are not Irish. This much I know. No authentic irish kid would ever let their little brother wear there precious, although too big, hat. What a fun card. I was just looking at Lavinia stamps. Thanks for the tips.

Oh, sis, another cutie, and how funny that "he" is the stew! And his hat is adorable! It would be fun to see your art work with all these card tops and your notes. Your printing is amazing (which is not surprising given your occupation, but I think Australians have better handwriting that here in the U. S.). Sweet card and fun! Hugs, sis! xoxo
