This has been swirling around my head for a while. It was inspired by the words of a song by Casting Crowns. "I am a flower quickly fading, here today and gone tomorrow, a whisper in the wind."
No stamps.
Background is a piece of textured handmade paper I bought in Guam in 1997. It was huge and varied from dark blue at the top to turquoise at the bottom with a section of gray in between. The rest of the pieces is part of psalm 139.
Flowers and leaves are freehand cut from cardstock and assembled. Ink applied with a fingertip to add depth.
Wire pieces are cut long, doubled over, then twisted for added strength. Freehand formed and attached to piece using small pieces of wire threaded through the back. Grass is a large sheet of mulberry paper with cuts along the top for movement/texture.
Finished piece is approximately 12 x 18.

Thank you. This is the second one of these I did. The first was 8 1/2 x 11. As for Casting Crowns, they are my absolute favorite band. They say exactly what we need to hear.
