This journal page is for Anna's fun mixed media challenge.
I was a bit confused with this week's challenge, that's not uncommon for me LOL. This week's challenge is Black and White and "Read" All Over! Stamp it, or Emboss it, or Ink it, or Paint it.
Soooo, I ripped a black and white page out of an old cookbook - I read it, then added a whole heap of stuff. It looks a bit weird but I had a heap of fun making this Thelma and Louise page for my journal.
Thelma (the girl in the pinky-green dress) was printed onto photo-copy paper, coloured with Copics on her face and neck and a combination of Copics and Prismacolour pencils on the dress, she was then fussy cut.
Louise, in the green dress has a photo-copy paper head, neck and collar, coloured with Copics, fussy cut then stuck on to the cookbook page using a glue stick. The top of her hair and her dress are drawn directly onto the book page.
Their eyes are a combination of a light green Copic marker, then build up the colour using various Prismacolour pencils and a white marker. Liquid pearl buttons were added along with a doodled border and a swish of walnut stain distress ink here and there. Thanks so much for looking, I hope my interpretation of the challenge is OK.

Susie, your journal page is a delicious creation! Using a cookbook page as your base is extraordinary as is the facial features of Thelma & Louise. Their eyes are mesmerizing and love their earnest look.
I Laught out loud when I first zoomed in and first saw 'sauce as you like' in the bottom left corner!! What a hoot and these girls were saucy indeed!!

As you know, I was confused too! I like your take, Susie. Those capes that they are wearing remind me of something from our dressing-up box; I love the little buttons and the rip in one. And their eyes, what fabulous colouring.

I was thinking I'll have to stop in and visit Susie to see where her mind has gone today. And, lo and behold, Thelma and Louise! Oh, those eyes!!!.....those eyes!!!!! They're amazing! The green irises in those eyes glisten with life! I noticed the "sauce as you like" too and have to say you've sauced them up Beautifully. I love the coloring and the shading you've done on their faces. And their lips are a Delight. I also see that this "serves 6"....but you've served so many more of us with a heaping serving of Smiles.
