This journal page is for Anna's fun mixed media challenge.
I was a bit confused with this week's challenge, that's not uncommon for me LOL. This week's challenge is Black and White and "Read" All Over! Stamp it, or Emboss it, or Ink it, or Paint it.
Soooo, I ripped a black and white page out of an old cookbook - I read it, then added a whole heap of stuff. It looks a bit weird but I had a heap of fun making this Thelma and Louise page for my journal.
Thelma (the girl in the pinky-green dress) was printed onto photo-copy paper, coloured with Copics on her face and neck and a combination of Copics and Prismacolour pencils on the dress, she was then fussy cut.
Louise, in the green dress has a photo-copy paper head, neck and collar, coloured with Copics, fussy cut then stuck on to the cookbook page using a glue stick. The top of her hair and her dress are drawn directly onto the book page.
Their eyes are a combination of a light green Copic marker, then build up the colour using various Prismacolour pencils and a white marker. Liquid pearl buttons were added along with a doodled border and a swish of walnut stain distress ink here and there. Thanks so much for looking, I hope my interpretation of the challenge is OK.

OH, my, so creative and fun!! I love the graphic look of Thelma and Louise and the fact that the cook book print is behind them and shows through in some places. Fabulous, delightful journal page my friend!! Faved.

Oh my goodness, Thelma and Louise- I love it! How fantastic. Susie, the eyes you created on these two are so captivating and so life like I can hardly tear my own eyes away in order to read your description. I am so impressed with how you create your journal pages/cards and the way you color your images is mind blowing to say the least. Your artwork is a true adventure for those of us fortunate enough to see what you make. Yay! ~Karen.
