This is the card I made for my stepdad's birthday. It's a must that his cards have a dog on them, and I was so excited to find this stamp!
I stamped on Copic paper (leaving the stamp in the MISTI) with Memento Desert Sand and colored him with Spectrum Noir markers. I stamped over the colored image with Tuxedo Black to bring back the wonderful detail.
I used a black Prismacolor pencil to color over the glasses frames, and a Prismacolor blender pencil to add a layer of wax to the "glass" portion, and to his nose as well. Burnishing the pencil left a subtle shine on those areas.
To create the card base, I scanned the image, opened it in Photoshop and added the sentiment to the front and inside. It was printed, trimmed and scored/folded to a top-folding A2 card. I loosely fussy cut around the original image and knew I wanted to pop him up for dimension. I stamped the image on craft foam, cut it out slightly inside the lines and ran it through the Xyron to adhere to the back of the image. Fair warning - the ink on the foam didn't dry - I used a paper towel to remove the excess ink, and was grateful I noticed it before I smeared it all over my card!
As always, thanks for looking!

First I love, love this card, Jodi. Now seeing this makes me frustrated. Looked at this stamp last week, liked it, but passed on it. Darn! Thinking about going back for it. This is fun and could be used for so many people. Thanks for sharing.

Oh, WOW!! This really turned out awesome!! Sheldon will fall in love with this card, and it is nice he even appreciates hearing how you make it to get it to look so good!! (Glad you noticed the wet ink on the foam - would hate to hear a 'disaster story' of how this fabulous card very well could have been ruined!)

I think there will be two of us on a hunt for this stamp! Love that stamp paired with that sentiment! And your coloring- fabulous! Never would have thought to use a blender pencil for sheen! This is so fun for him!

There you go again, JL.
I'm mesmerized by your talents, JodyLynn. You must have been a graphics major to do the things you do and even to have the desire to explore and manipulate so many different modalities to create these works of art. Your step dad will have a smile on his face I'll be able to see here in NC. Your cards look like they're one of a kind samples from Hallmark. No, let me take that back, if I might. They look like one of a kind Neiman Marcus cards! Wow, are you ever talented.

Love your card with the Nerdy Dog. Thanks for the details on using the MISTI to restamp after coloring it....great idea! And your sentiment is hilarious. TFS
