Garden Party is this week's free image at Delightful Inspiration. . It's a progressive challenge and each week you play along, you get another free image.
I decided this would be a great image to try a variety of techniques. I was having such a fun time that I wound up making 5 different cards with the same image. I needed to replenish my stash of cards I have on hand, anyway. LOL
For this card, my 1st one, I printed the image twice, one larger than the other. I watercolored the little garden scene and the larger flowers and bee using SU classic ink refills. The dark blue background I went over on top of the Marina Mist ink with a Copic Marker to give it a richer hue. I cut out the larger flowers and bee and popped them up on a sponged sky background I made using a scallop circle mask and a variety of SU blue ink pads with a sponge. I added the bee's trail at the top using Inkssentials Black Enamel Accents. I also used them on the bee trail in the scene. Last I added stickles to the flower centers and bee's wings, and pink Liquid Pearls to the mice's noses.

Aw, this is so cute... love the look of the blossoms against a darker background. Fantastic shading and sponging in this delightful scene! Love the bee trails too!
