I was looking around for a card idea for a teenage girl when I spotted this gem of Joanne's in my favorites. I have no idea if the young lady is a fan of things oriental, but this was my inspiration, so I hope she likes it. I sure had fun making it!
I don't have oriental word stamps or embellishments, so I had to improvise there. Not sure where the button came from, and I haven't used that sentiment set in ages, but I needed something small. I discovered a package of bookmark tassels in my stash - I knew hoarding those would pay off one day! I just had to trim off the length a bit.
I used a sponge dauber to apply Really Red ink to the floral image, then colored the branches with the Basic Black marker. The lantern's edges are sponged with distress inks (before crimping), and the ridges of the crimped paper are highlighted with Close to Cocoa, then touched up with the matching marker. I need more practice on that step. I used the Quickie glue pen to add gold glitter to the centers of the flowers. I also sponged the embossing on the red layer with Really Red ink.
The lantern, button and sentiment are on dimensionals.

Linda, being the aficinado of all things asian, let me just assure you this is a masterpiece! I have no idea how you cased Joanne's card, but you've done it so beautifully. I love the hoarded tassle and the button that definitely resembles an ancient asian coin. I would have to say this is one really fabulous asian card.

I'm surprised this doesn't have tons of comments! Very impressive, and great improvising (button, tassle, and wish on gold). I love all the detail given to the lantern. Both embossings were perfect choices.
