This was sort of a Zindorf technique. I say "sort of" because the coloring was done with chalks and a dove blender rather than markers.
Also, I stamped the image with black StazOn, forgetting that VersaMark causes StazOn to become "nonpermanent". The black ink did some moving around and changed the colors. For example, the gray apron is supposed to be white.
Oh well. Live and learn...that's me!
Anyway....after I colored the image, I used my finger to apply black chalk direct to paper. I rubbed in a circular motion to make it look like smoke over the kettle.
That done, I used my VersaMark pen to go over the image and then clear embossed. Oh...becareful of the cardstock you use for this. I used a misc. white, and the surface would pill up in places where I was blending colors. Going over the surface more than once or twice with the dove roughed it up. In those rough areas, I sometimes had to add a 3rd coat of ep to get it covered well.
After I was satisfied with the clear embossing, I then sponged Marvy Matchables onto the background. Started with a light blue, then a dark blue.
That done, I sponged black over the area where I'd used black chalk for smoke.
I trimmed the image and mounted it on a dark blue cs. That's as far as this one will go. I did this at work on Saturday, and it will remain at the store as a sample.
Also, I uploaded a couple Dream Weaver faux ceramic tile cards yesterday. I didn't receive approval for them until this morning, so I don't know if they hit the Day's Uploads yesterday, today, or what? If they haven't appeared and if you have an interest, just go to my gallery and have a peek.
