This is my card for Beate's inspiration challenge today - Blogs at Splitcoaststampers. Last week's was so easy, I could have made half a dozen cards with no trouble. But this week I thought Help, what on earth do I do with that!!
The animals were so small, so in the end I decided to hide them in that closet . Shame it was last Friday I needed a card for a 6-year old boy, this would have been perfect.
The base is pale blue Core'dinations, scored down it. I rounded the corners and sponged them with Brilliance Sky Blue. The wardrobe is more Core'dinations. I cut a rectangle, and then cut along the top and bottom and down the centre, and scored along the sides. I stamped the animals on some white card and then glued the wardrobe onto it and trimmed it down. Then I added the sentiment.
The top was a bit bare and I wanted to keep it suitable for a boy, so instead of ribbon I stamped two flourishes and added a little oval detail with some snaps. I used a folio closure for keeping the door closed. It still looked a bit bare, so I took the *handles* off the door, stamped it with Weathered and Versamark and dusted it with some chalk pastel.
From what I thought was an impossible challenge, I've ended up with a card I really like - thanks Beate.
p.s. - the colours in the closed wardrobe are more realistic. I had to have lighting from the front for this one, to stop the doors from casting too much shadow on the animals hiding inside.
