I wonder what would happen if the images were reheated for a bit after the chalk was applied? Maybe re-melting the EP a little would make the chalk stick?
I love this technique! I embossed my image, then "colored" the image with my blender pen. I immediately followed with my chalks. It looks great! Now I just need to turn it into a card! Thanks for this great challenge.
Beth, oh my gosh girl, this was one hard challenge for me! I did use stampin pastels on the topiary with a Marvy Marker, and then added lots of dazzling diamonds to spruce it up. Here's my card:
man... it's looks like everyone is back into the swing of things after the weekend! I'm still burned out lol.. i will try the white ink w/clear ep because i too have no white ep. great cards so far ladies!! I will try to keep up.

I'm not too happy with the way the colors look, but I'm going to try again. This is a fun technique!
I haven't done a challenge in awhile, but I just couldn't pass this one up. I love embossing and finding a new technique with it is such a bonus!! Here's my card:
WOW, there are some really gorgeous cards made using this technique!! I kept trying and finally decided to go with this one, just a single flower. As always, thank you so very much for looking. Gallery at Splitcoaststampers
Thanks for the fun challenge. Decided to try Chocolate instead of Black, so I could use more earth tone flowers. Used my blender pens, which I haven't used in ages, so that was fun too!
I've gotta tell you once I got started I couldn't do just one! LOL This is my last day to do challenges during the daytime with you ladies. Tomorrow I start back to teaching. :(
Here they are: Pastel Embossed Sunflowers. Pastel Embossed Buds and Pastel Embossed Blossoms.

I just had to give this another try.....didn't think my first one turned out too well. This is fun, and for me very challenging. As always, thank you for looking. Gallery at Splitcoaststampers
I got mine done. I had to go get some white EP, but it is grainy for some reason. It is the JoAnn brand, just plain onld EP. Doea anyone else have experience with this? I tried heating it until the cardstock curled, it was so hot, but still, the EP wouldn't melt smoothly. Anyway, I am still pleased iwth my card!

Good idea! I hope to try another tonight and I'll give it a shot (literally) -- I'm not very good at making jokes -- sorry!!!
Oh what fun! I did have a tad bit of trouble with the colors, so I reheated and that made them 'pop' out - and I achieved the look I was hoping for. Another fun technique- you are the best- thanks Beth!!!
This was a fun challenge. I''m so glad I finally got mine in on the day it was posted! I used Taken with Teal instead of black. Thanks so much for the challenge and for looking!
I just LOVE this! I made another one- no dinner on the table.......
My SAGA sewing group (Smocking Arts guild of America) is taking a member out on a lunch cruise in Chicago Wednesday. She is moving back to Australia and it is a group good bye. I thought this would be a fun card to make- and not in my style to not make something at the last minute. Hmmmm, maybe I'll paint my nails.......
Fun challenge! This was a new technique for me! It didn't work so well with the blending pen, but when I switched to just using my pastel dry, it worked great.
I hate to admit that I messed up two perfectly good pieces of cardstock and failed both times. I just cannot work with pastels. I am just challenged with them. So sad. I did try....!
