Ok so this is a crazy crazy question but I would love to use some bella stamps but don't really want to buy them yet. I don't know how much I'll use them. Is anyone willing to lend me their bella stamp? I'll pay postage both ways (well, I'll reimburse you when I send it back)... or can someone send me some stamped images on white CS? I can send you some ribbon or something for trade of stamped images....
I'm sure no one will do this but I thought I'd give it a shot.
Jenn

It's not a bad idea. I do trade with my DSIL and some of my local stamping friends occasionally. If I had some Bellas, I'd send you some images, but I'm bellaless, also. I hope you find someone willing to help or trade with you.

I would say check out the IRAK forums. It's for Images. I had a friend send me some bella images as a gift and now I am hooked.

Your welcome! I would send you some but I haven't bought any Bellas yet. My friend sent me so many that I don't have to worry about them for a while. LOL But I will be buying some just as soon.

The IRAK is now called Wish RAK. You have to be a member of the RAK group to be in Wish RAK. Click on "Welcome JennRussell" near the top of the page (right) and scroll down to the bottom on the left there will be a button labeled "Group Memberships." Click that and that page should have all the groups on SCS. Click to join the RAK group. Ginais the only one that does approvals, bimonthly, so depending on when you join you could wait a few days to a few weeks.
Anyways the RAK group is "Random acts of kindness." Once you are a member you will see there are different subgroups of the RAK group, wish rak, birthday rak, and welcome rak. The idea behind wish rak is to share images, paper, ribbon, etc with other members of wish rak. The rules are... you get 3 wishes to start out with. Ex. Wish #1 Flowahbella. You let the others know what kind of ink and paper you want it on and they grant your wish. To get more wishes (more than your original 3), you grant other people's wishes for images. It's not all SU stuff, so there are usually a lot of wishes you are able to grant, even if you don't have a lot of SU product.
HTH.

Scary, eh? And it's NOT all the Bellas! I do have a few more on the way, but there are a MILLION of them it seems! And I have gotten a few PMs from people wanting me to stamp images for them which is fine, but I'll have to say that I REALLY should have PMed the OP about this because I was meaning the offer for her, but since only a few others have emailed me about stamping images for them too, I don't mind doing it. HOWEVER, from here on out I'll have to stop for now! K, girls? Emily would LOVE to have you stop by http://www.stampingbella.com/ and pick up a few for yourselves that AREN'T on my list! Hee, hee! (Then YOU could stamp images for ME!!)
Wouldn't it be cheaper to just by the bella stamp than pay shipping both ways to borrow it?

The thing with Bellas is not so much the expense, but the timeinvolved in their arrival. It's faster to send thigs across the US than to wait for Bellas to arrive from Canada. Mine took a month, and She upgraded mine to airmail.

Probably but then I have to buy the special block to mount it on, and I just don't know if I'll like it. If I try out some of the images you ladies are sending me, then I can see if I like them, and THEN I will buy some... they are so very cute!

i am sure your gonna love them and i just permanently mounted mine on wood blocks.
Why not just scan pages of a Bella stamp images (one full page of each of the same Bella stamps) and them email to whoever wants it. Then you can just print it on cardstock.
I bet this would work...
What does everyone think?

It's a violation of copyright law. Images may not be electronically reproduced.
Thanks for your thoughts Jan. You are correct that mechanically reproducing stamped images from any company is an infringement of copyright law and most likely their Angel Policy.
It's something that I didn't really understand when I started stamping. Why would it matter if I photocopied an image to save some time? Discussions on SCS later informed me that it negatively affects the business owners ability to run viable company.
If there were no rules around this, there could be one website where everyone uploaded the images they own and others could just log on and print them off. How could any person stay in business if they only sold a small number of any particular stamp because everyone else was getting it for free?
Jan's post just reminded me of my first thoughts on the subject and I wanted to share. ;)
okay, lisa (and others), i TOTALLY get the no photocopying/reproducing thing, but how is that different from stamping images on paper and sharing them? (except for the whole digital/internet sharing thing)
i find it funny that they don't mind people irak-ing them, but no photocopying.
and just FYI, i've never done either, and don't know if i would ask someone for images. i would just buy it myself, cause that's how i am. lol

Mass production; an individual could not hand stamp images by the hundreds of thousands in the same way that they could reproduce the image via mechanical/electronic means.

That would be a copyright infringment.
Not to put a damper on things girls, but........
Picture yourself as a small business owner. You make a product that everyone loves. How would you feel if instead of 100 people buying that product only one does and then shares it with everyone else?
To me it's kinda like one person getting cable TV and everyone in the neighborhood splicing into the line. In other words it's OK for everyone to come over to your house and watch the Superbowl, but it's not cool for everyone to watch it in their house for free.

In addition to what Julie said about mass production (the sender couldn't send out the huge quanitity that an electronic medium could allow them to...), the RECIEVER of the images will run out. If it was electronic, they could always print them again. When the reciever runs out of images, they have to either 1) ask the sender to send more or 2) buy the stamp because they realized they liked it. I think many of us would pick option two. But if it was legal to pick option 3) just print more- wouldn't you do that? Then stamp makers couldn't ever make money.
The "Bellas" are female charicatures in the Stamping Bella line that showcase us women-folk in numerous occupations and various life situations (i.e. getting married, runnin' the kids around in the mini van, shopping, PMSing, or prego, etc.).
There are also now "Fellas", too.
