These are the most beautiful Cockatoos. They are called Gang Gangs. I often see them in Winter when they come down from the ranges to spend the colder weather here - there are lots of seeds and nuts on the trees for them. The male is the red headed one - and it is a very bright red - the poor little female isn't so brightly attired. You can also hear them when they are flying overhead because their call sounds like a very rusty door hinge - creaky and needing oil. I made the background using a gelli plate - and don't ask me how I did it - I can't replicate it!!! This is very annoying - it was the first print from my new larger gelli print plate - so I think it must have some sort of oil or something on the plate which produced the lovely background. If I knew what did it I would bottle it and sell it. he he. The image is coloured with Derwent water colour pencils. I have had this lovely stamp for years and years and never used so I am very happy with the result. Hope you enjoy my little Birdy Friends.

I thought you had a most beautiful piece of dp and not something you actually created all by yourself! Wow! It is magnificent! Beautiful birds too, and how amazing that you actually get to see these where you live~ TFS the info. on them.

How gorgeous! Your coloring is on these birds is superb! My Dad had a pet store and we had two Macaws that were lose in the store. One talked and he would say " I hate cats." People cracked up. Thanks for making me think of that memory since my Dad has been gone for several years.

Wow, Helen, LOVE this wonderful card with the amazingly beautiful bg for your gang gang cockatoos, so fabulously coloured!! We do not get gang gang cockatoos where I live in Sydney, just the regular yellow crested cockatoos who love to destroy our flowering plants!!!
