HYCCT1408 = my hero. My hero is my late Mother. She was a "giver"...and many times, anonymously. Doing good to be doing good, not the praise or glory it might bring her. She also was a stoic in regards to her personal trials. When she died of cancer, most friends had no idea the cause of her death since she kept it to herself and family. Her thought was, "Everybody has their problems, they don't need mine too." Her other tenet was "If sitting on a stump and crying would help, I'd do it...but it won't. So I'll be up and at 'em". I miss her and my Dad greatly.

Sallie, your mom sounds like she was a real positive "get 'er done" kinda gal. It is so hard when we don't have that physical presence of someone who was a pillar in our life. Thank you for sharing the precious memory of all she was and remains to you. Your card is a beautiful depiction of those who help in their quiet and unassuming ways.

so true Sallie (your card) most angels go through life doing stuff behind the scenes just to help, not to get noticed! I love what your mom said about her illness and that is so true too! Lovely tribute to your mom!

Wonderful - such a great card and delightful sentiment. What a great idea to putting the wings away on a hanger in the cupboard - ready to bring out when needed next time. Lovely, thoughtful card.

Oh Sallie...your card brought tears to my eyes. Thank-you for sharing your story...it was so touching and to see this wonderfully done card...wow!
The story you shared about your Mom sounds so much like my mom. She was always giving, kind, did things behind the scene and we never knew about all she did. She also died of cancer and my heart was broken. I too miss my mom and dad so very much.
Sending many hugs your way.
