Well, I don't often do the mixability challenge, because I am never sure how it's going to work. I cring at the idea of mutilating a book, even an old one, but I can pull a page out of a magazine with only a slight pang of guilt, so I took a magazine page and cut it down and layered it onto a piece of white CS for some sturdiness. Then I painted on two layers of gesso which made a lot of the printing disappear, so I sanded a bit of it off and you can sort of see the printing if you look close. Then I sponged on some Baked Brown sugar ink. I embossed the flower image and added a bit of walnut spray to the edges and then a bit of gold Smooch spray. I used a mask to create a ground line with some Midnight Muse ink and then added in some Cherry Cobbler ink in the sky area. I created some texture on my Midnight muse panel and sponged and sprayed. The button is a vintage button from an old button box of my Mom's.
REV: After I posted this I thought I wanted to ground everything a bit more and pull the two panels together, so I added some gold flakes that I had on the work table.
What do you think? I honestly can't tell if I like it or not. But I don't know if that really matters because I had fun making it!

This is beautiful! I can't imagine that you don't just love it -
The gold lends a wonderful touch of elegance, the image panel is just stunning with that fantastic background! Love this!

Fascinating card, and reading the process that you went through, I can see where all the layers are adding to the whole card. Straight in to my favourites as well! beautiful!
